I’m back as a member of the newbie squad! At least I think so. It’s hard for me to tell what constitues a newbie in this game

My friend started to play this game and he could do crazy Angel combos

But I kept winning because I did hop CDs and never let him start that mix

Yeah the "ranks" we have here can be very hard to get a real grasp of imo.

To me a newbie is someone who would lose against Rait's King/Maxima shell for example. That might still be me.

If you can beat rait 100%, you're intermediate to me.

Beat players like Oliver or Cien consistently and you're a killer.

Beat players like Luna, Smoke or other killers consistently and you're Tiago/Daru level

And if you beat these two consistently, congrats, you're a KOF sweat and you might want to look for stronger opponents somewhere, on toxic servers with other sweats, and legit enter tournaments.

Or you can be like Daru and keep playing casually

I’m just not used to playing with arcade stick cause I’ve been using controller my whole life. I’ve definitely gotten better with it, but I still gotta figure out how to do a lotta stuff I learned to do on controller already all over again. Not really super excited to do all that though so it’ll happen when it happen. Will probably play more stick on SF6 maybe

When I got my stick I just completely dropped my controller so that way I would practice on nothing except the stick for days on end, and within 2 days, I was already doing all my terry bnbs again

Honestly, that rank system was much more accurate when I first got in here.
But you, Dyl, and even Rait have become considerably stronger, to the point that I don't even know if I consider you newbies anymore.
Milk is a newbie, for sure, but...
There is a huge gap already between actual newbies and what used to be the newbie squad.
Also, the only mids we had were Oliver and Cien, but now these two have gotten considerably stronger too, raising the bar of what is a mid
Me, Mac, Smoke, Bubs and now we have lots of new killers I'd say are quite even, and as only Daru and Tiago were able to beat us consistently, we didn't need a new category only for them. So we just consider them like top killers.
Just like it is with the ranks. Xiaohai is Champion Rank, same rank as me. But I am nowhere near him in actual skill.
So I just thought of the killers like that tbh, killers, but some higher than the others

Honestly, I did it once, years ago, when I went to another city's arcades, and played a bit of Kof 02 there, and it was fine. I did Iori super, so I was happy
