In corner, you can sneak in a light power wave in between the ex power charge and ex power dunk

You have to do Ex Power Wave into Heavy DP, Geyser, Light DP, Geyser

This is probably the hardest Terry combo I have:
Ex dunk hits otg and actually sets up for a safe jump so if you do it right, Terry can two touch

So that's 370-494 depending on the route. Considering he gets 461 for 1.5 bars, seems hardly worth it
In all honesty, it is not "worth it" if you have a confirm
But like, to close a round or smt, or one of those hard punishes like Iori L DP, being able to Far C into big combo is something very good

Alright, I'm also gonna try to run Leona on point. Only reason I don't like doing it. Is how close you have to be for those low confirms
So I gotta figure out a way to deal with that. Even Shingo didn't even have to deal with this since he at least got 2 2As off of a 2B but Leona only gets the one because her arms are short
I’d say they are ok but a little too character specific as far as the response goes. For the first situation (opponent trying to roll out of corner) the best 2 imo are
#1- whiffed 2B (because they rolled past) > throw back into the corner. Have to be ready for this and can’t be mashing 2B or won’t have time for throw
#2- 2B > 5CD. This is an OS, the 5CD will only come out if 2B whiffs but it will be immediate. Most of the roster has follow ups for the wall splat after so need to have those on deck
The Shun stuff they showed is cool but in one example he back dashed to do something. If they jumped instead he’s eating a combo. 2B will torch wake up jumpers
The second situation (opponent ending block string with FB) imo the best thing to do is just hop forward since it’s universal. Just have to make sure there’s some space between you and your opponent so that if you do get clipped it’s an air reset and not a full punish
The main goal of both of these is to get your opponent to respect the fact that you have wake up roll/fake block string punishes ready. Some people do refuse to be conditioned but that’s fine too

And the 2A/2B into the 6A/6B after launching them with his 6C ein followup, or 214BD (second hit) in corner only tho

First thing learn to do 214(214)B. Hit them with the second hit that’s like your main combo sauce and from there you can do many things with the EX version. Just have to be very fast but it shouldn’t be too difficult.
Duo lon Day 0 impressions
Disclaimer: Since max only really cared about showing off his combo potential I won't have much to say to when it comes to neutral or buttons for example (count how many times when I say could or maybe lmao)
Sidenote: First character to potentially not have to deal with Kyo Jenet Krohnen meta so hopefully he'll blend in well with this balance patch
Buttons/specials:
They seem good on paper. Most of his buttons hit at hop ranges so he'll be good to check hops and counter poke. Rekkas might be good for pressure we'll just have to see.
Notable buttons/normals
- 6B goes pretty far and is max mode cancelable (could be super cancelable as well)
- 6A is cancelable from heavies and goes pretty far on it's own (minus on block but you be using it from a distance most likely)
- j.6A looks like a reliable air to air
- j.6B could be good to just neutral hop with it and use as a stop sign (ex could possible instant overhead like it could in 13)
- Both jump cd and stand cd (and by extension his shatter strike) look really good and oppressive (jump cd is on the slower side)
- Might have a standard 2C that anti air's gotta check again to make sure
- His stomp seems to be same as 13 which is quick low to close out rounds and ex for combos
- Slow fireball could be used for the oki situation and ex is three hits(Could be three hits on black as well, possibly plus on block?)
Neutral:
His hops/jumps look pretty standard and his run speed looks alright(looks it like could be average run speed like most of the cast or above average like leona, rock and yuri)
-His command dash could be used for tricky movement so he could be a hard target to hit
- Just like Billy I wouldn't throw out his long limbs recklessly unless you wanna get counter poked from half screen away
- Would not recommend using fireball in neutral unless you know for sure your opponent will respect it( similar to earring)
Pressure:
Not much to say Unfortunately (read disclaimer) but he could have some nasty pressure with his rekkas and command dash
Combos:
His combo do about average damage which makes sense with his archetype of character (even though it would be funny to have him nuke your health bar like Krohnen can)
-Some of of them have reset points that max showed but don't how effective that will be with throw's being frame 1
- They also seem to have good knockdowns so he maybe he can get meaty fireball set ups
Team position:
From a first glace he seems fine going anywhere meter build isn't too bad so he can point really well but he spends meter the moment he gets it (kind of like yama the moment you have 1 bar you most likely gonna spend it on super into otg stomp). So with that logic mid would be his most comfortable position (if I had a nickel for everytime one of these season 2 characters would be good on mid I'd have 25 cents) possibly anchor as well.
All in all he seems really promising compared to previous dlcs
-Kim and Sylvie are strong and can fight/hang with most of the top tiers, still struggle in some areas
- Shingo LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
- Najd has really good pros and really bad cons so it makes her difficult to fight with
- Goenitz boss character with ehh buttons( good run speed and jump arc for offense though)

His movelist is enormous but that because he got some old rekka extensions back from 11 and 2003

Duo lon thoughts after watching the character breakdown
What isn't mentioned here I probably feel the same when I saw Max's stream, scroll up
Buttons:
-Can zone with his long limbs pretty well (they seem fast as well), makes approaching him a real challenge
-2C seems a bit slow but hit's high up so it's useable
Specials/command normals
-Fireball is more akin to a ground fireball like Iori, useful to make them jump and probably for oki setups
- ex j.6b being overhead is great and can cross up just like a taco (gonna be important to instant overhead with this)
- ex command dash having invul is great but no telling if throw will beat it( it shouldn't but who knows at this point)
Neutral/gameplan
-Can dictate the speed of the match with his long limbs and command dash making it tricky for you opponent to deal with him
-His hops and jumps seem a bit floaty now but I think that's fine as long as you take advantage of his command dash
-run speed still seems average
Pressure
-Stomp and ex j.6B are gonna be important to chip away at the opponets health
-ex dash can used for cross ups (it has invul so you can't mash on him but grab could probably work?)
-cross up j.6b is nice to have once you trained them enough with your other options
-Rekka's could probably be used in block pressure be depends how minus it is, especially when spaced out

Tough to have zoning in a game with 4 jumps. The secret with King (imo) is to mix her forward moving stuff in with the zoning. Trying to play pure keep out is difficult, it’s the same thing with Athena

For 0.5 meter, you can do 46BD, 6A, 66A for the rest of the bnb

I don’t think we can hop the sweep, but it shouldn’t matter because he’s plus and so we’d still be in blockstun
It’s similar to why his frame 1 grab doesn’t work when he’s plus (we have proximity guard), so he has to use the longer startup armor grab, which means the OS makes us hop

It’s the same in SF. Ever try and tick throw an opponent who’s burned out? Same thing happens, the grab whiffs

You can also shimmy with a close normal so experiment with that
And characters with 1 frame command grabs can also beat wake up through
or characters liek dino or clark who have guard point (armor)

I did it from Jump CD since that is the most common situation imo
I just tested with goat nutz and just like shermie he can meaty wake up throw with close D
First hit of Close D is special cancelable so figure it out the cash out combo from it and you'll be golden (or just a good combo in general I don't know bros routes)
Examples of Krohnen safe jumps @stiff veldt
TLDR anytime you land that stomp you get a auto timed 4 frame safe jump
Midscreen you whiff 2A
Corner you whiff close B
For Leona and Rugal I'm not really sure so you'd have to experiment yourself and see
If you need help with that let me know
I couldn't find anything for his C throw or D throw in the corner but getting a safe jump from it might be possible
Just feels manually timed as opposed to auto timed
Also these will all beat wake throw
And you could replace J.D with J.CD instead for safe jumps once you gotten them to respect it
Becasue know you just safe jumped with a button that has a high amount of plus frames
which can lead to a mix up
On top of that you can add an extra layer
Once you've gotten them to resepct the safe jump you start going for empty jump low or overhead in Krohnen's case

No the back Jump D means I'll guard in time if they reversal
So to OS (option select) the throw you back Close C after the jump in
That way you can catch someone's roll

You don't have to worry about any wake up shenanigans
For the most part
For characters like clark or even mary who can wake up with command grabs you have to use a backdash OS but you don't need to worry about that unless you plan on fighting those characters a lot

So what you want to do is when you safe jump is jump.d (hold back during it so you don't get clipped by the dp) and Close C while holding back to stop the roll
If they get hit your throw OS won't come out
And you'll just get a normal close C that you can combo from

If you have an offensive gameplan just do it, Maxima is too slow to stop it 99% of the time. He excels when you get scared and start turtling

Just be careful of characters who have 1 frame command grabs and anything that has invul on start up
So messing with it as well. Like other than DPs and invul things. If you hold forward C "Because I couldn't get it to work with D" after the walk back. It'll just throw if they roll. But then it's not a low meaty.
And if she does a different ender she can the safe jump I just don't know the safe jump
