Yes. Early indications are that TC is not an event for the common folk anymore. Just over 2 hours after the event has started and i can already see there is zero chance to obtain any form of hero. there are +100m points already on the leaderboard.

I note that the developers in their haste to switch over the TC format have neglected (yeah i said neglected) to incorporate the points balancing aspect for newer players for the daily Tiers (Phase Targets) now. The had balancing in the old TC to make allowances for the newer players who had not unlocked particular aspects of that days challenges. Phase targets are the same for players who for example do not have a LVL 24 shelter and as such cannot do the Secret Armory, Hone or track Armaments portion of todays TC. The final Tier target is still 3,300,000 for all now.

and don't forget, this TC you get 250 points per minute for research, old TC was 150 per minute (that's an increase of 66%)
