They can but they have to use dark relocators (aka very expensive) I don't recommend destroying towers around mid or anything unless they plan to drop a fort on it, because any unowned territory the enemy can use normal relocators to just teleport there

I'd recommend trying to open alliances so people can hop through alliances during the Dark seal period
