I did the refresh the webpage to get old layout back, now that doesn't work. Tried the script now (wasn't using before), not having much luck with it, unless i did something wrong
Edit: the script works on some of the pages like your profile but not on the games? Also i just realised they deleted the playlist feature ffs. Also how do you favourite a game on the new layout?

This tricks stopped working when they made guest accounts switch to that new layout. To everyone's despair, once you get the new layout then you are stuck with it.
If the script you are referring to is Good Old Kongregate, then unfortunately, it will not revert this layout. That would requires too much work (because the changes to the structure of the pages is major) and neither Fancy nor I have the time or even the will to tackle that.
Adding a game to one's favourite games list is currently not possible because they... forgot to add this feature. They are supposedly "working on it" so it might come back someday™.

Joined the discord to see what was up with this. I really do not understand why almost every webplatform is seemingly in an armsrace to have the worst possible layout for their websites. Please give us the option to revert to the old as this one requires a thousand scrolls to see even half of what you could with the old layout.

On desktop/laptop, hit ctrl-i to open up your browser console. Find the object for "header class", click on it, then click into the little search bar below and type in "fixed." Once you mouse over the search result, it'll have a little checkbox next to it (which I can't screenshot properly) and uncheck it. That will unsticky the search bar.
You have to do it every time you click into a game or refresh the page, but it works to make that awful red bar scroll away.
Unfortunately, I do not have a similar solution for mobile.

Great googly moogly, they just made the UI even worse. Sometime in the last few hours they implemented an update that forces a bunch of game links on the side of the screen, this shrinking your play window EVEN MORE.
My spouse just fixed mine doing computer stuff in the Stylus extension, but it's more involved than I know how to share.

Wonderful! Now have to reduce the game i habitually play down to 67% in order to fit it into the yet again reduced playing area. Soon will be too small to see at all and i can quit. Really wish said game had cross-platform play so i could abandon these site changes that just get worse and worse.

just when we finally got used to the red bar layout you just made us have maybe two months back, you guys barf all over the website yet again.
resizing the window does nothing to the now smaller gameplay window except make it even smaller. and before you even bring it up, "fullscreen" mode is not a realistic option for pc users who need to have other windows and tabs open and accessible if you expect people to be able to sit and play your game(s) all day.
you guys had the small window problem with the last website redesign and you fixed it to look normal by resizing. please, please fix this too.

Dear lord is it possible? They've made it EVEN WORSE now.
Now the entire page is cluttered with useless stuff and for some reason an animated gif preview of the game you're playing is playing right in the center of the screen with the actual game pasted on top of it in a tiny window.
If they don't either give us an option to revert to the old (which was just fine the way it was no changes needed) layout or hire some competent webdesigners that know how to make intuitive UIs and don't just stuff it full of clutter I might just quit Kongregate after I 100%'d the game I'm playing now.
Been a member since 2008 but I just can't anymore.

We've received a number of complaints from our Kong Players about the changes to the site's game-window shrinking. Also, there is still no method for Developers to add News or Updates about our products. Based upon data collected from when this feature was removed, it is definitely impacting sales [presumably both of Kreds, alongside the in-game spending of them]. 😕

I don't have high hopes, but we shall see. We have been monitoring it since that change, and that is the only significant variable shift that would result in other platforms spending more but Kong spending less

We want to see a return to the old Kongregate layout. At least give us a setting option to revert the changes, directly load game rather than "Play Now" button and having the game window show everything without needing full screen, rather than cropping important things.

For many years it looks to be getting more focused on catering to Mobile games and MMO types, the ones with energy systems, P2P/P2Win and most of all micro-transactions; you can probably see the appeal with that last one. The almost everything else are mostly meant to be a gateway to hopefully gravitate people toward those.

So far, the most effective remedy I've found is to de-maximize the browser window, shove part of it off the screen, and then expand the window to where it's bigger than the actual screen space. It...helps. It's still not as good as it was pre-yesterday, which in turn was still actively worse than before the Red Bar.

ive already had that stupid sidebar on the left pull me out of my game while having to click something on the far edge of the left side of the screen two or three times now.
its enough that its so close to the edge, but if you mouse just a little too far, it expands over the game window. then you click it by accident and bam, have to reload the game.

on chrome i do: control + shit + I → find the side bar select it and prompt the AI feature to "hide this" → click to apply
also like @slow patrol way up the thread i just double click the element text and remove the word fixed and press enter to get the top bar from following...
i also find the right side bar and prompt the AI to hide it and apply that fix so it doesnt take room from the game screen...
only downside is that you have to do it every time you open a game on the site or refresh a page... so its at least a daily thing to change... but hey the upside is that it makes the site usable and you dont need to download anything extra to make it work

Just joined the server to point out that Kongregate really needs to remove those sidebars of games soon, because it bleeds userbase for all games (the reason should be obvious; they're there to play, having lots of distractions with playing reduces interest, and once interest is gone, they find something else instead and most won't come back even if Kong upgrades things). Of course, an account setting to hide them will work for those of us willing to jump through that hoop, but I think userbase in general needs the default to be no sidebars. If Kongregate cares about economic viability, this is an urgent change.

Having to click through the "Play Now" button and having buttons along both sides of the screen that take me out of the game I'm playing; these changes are making me play less, because they are annoying to deal with. Please discuss planned changes with the player base before rolling them out, rather than hoping that we will like/accept them after the rollout. Since you made these changes without discussing them with us, the next best thing you can do is to quickly roll them back.
