Beard | Kind of a big deal — Today at 1:52 PM
Dear Survivrs,We would like to start by sincerely thanking @everyone for all of the passion, love, and support showed to us and each other over the years. With this in mind, we are saddened to report that we will be sunsetting Surviv.io.
Effective immediately –
➕ We will begin changing all discord channels to read-only.
➕ There will not be another new season in-game.
➕ Ability to make purchases in-game will be restricted.Effective soon –
➕ The game will continue to be playable for now but will be switched offline at a later date.Understandably this is sad and upsetting news for everyone close to the project and wouldn’t want to claim otherwise. However, where adversity is found sometimes a ray of sunshine can be found. We hope that sunshine comes in the form of another project our team is very passionate about, Bit Heroes Arena.
If you aren’t quite ready to call it quits on Surviv-style Battle Royale madness we hope you give Bit Heroes Arena a try. It carries a lot of the same DNA that made up Surviv.io. The dev team in charge of that project has been hard at expanding on the genre and offering unique features and mechanics, but without sacrificing existing elements that made Surviv so fun and addictive!
Once more we would like to humbly thank you for the many years of fun and dedication you all have shown us.

dang
It's a shame, really
there's a lot of love for the game and everyone is frustrated about it
Yeah
The first community manager made Kong look utterly pathetic
Plus her way of "managing" an already manageable server resulted in massive retaliation and an outright war
i wonder why?
Miscommunication and manager antics
Oh my bad
They made horrible updates to the game
none the community wanted or asked for
mmmmm
They butchered community ideas people took months to make and it really hurt the artists there (I included)
Yeah
We even made a guide for them about the art style of the game (since their art was way off the original style). The manager didn't forward it for some random assumption we were advertising a server (which we didn't)
4 months of work and valuable time down the drain haha
lol. what a wierd connection, you know? like.... art style is server advertisement? kind if a stretch
4 months of work down the drain would make me angry.
indeed
i've had hard work be for nothing. friggin sucks
😔
please tell me you got into another project
Not really, not anymore
With their antics and strict guidelines, it made it hard to really get anything to them
Especially with modding of any sort
People thought about it since the game was becoming more garbage with each update and thought we'd take it within our own hands. But as time went on, we started to accept we had no play in this anymore
Most of us left and got rid of every connection with the game. I'm just here trying to find out who's responsible for everything and ask them what their actual plan was.
Yeah the hackers were a major problem and caused the original devs to give it away. Of which they asked for it back but kong's surviv team said no they were fine (paraphrasing from a stream a while back)
The disconnection is the main thing that caused a massive feud to unfold. I feel like if they were more transparent to their community (which had a lot of people back in the day), they would be doing way better than they are now
The harassment to the entire surviv team can be see in the announcements channel. From 2020, you can see the reactions be a bit toxic.
With more restrictions to the reddit and discord, no one could stand up and say something. CMs will ignore, helpdesk can't do anything, it's the same cycle every time.
haha yeah
Surviv.io is just wasted potential now. A hollow shell of its former self 😄
ahhh dang. i'm sorry to hear :/ BUT maybe one day
yea one day, some day
oh thanks again for making an effort Tecno. I really appreciate it
You're very welcome.
NA and EU servers do not work. I can't log in with my account
They remain independent and do not communicate any changes. Adrian has forwarded requests.
I was thinking, isn't it a good thing for a game's development team to interact with their community? Like casually playing games, seeing what worked on a public scale, seeing what the community wants, etc? Since doing something the community really doesn't want/need does create problems.
