Got into the game after the Ode to Castlevania DLC came out. Two quick suggestions….
First one, adding a dash 💨 (button). It simply felt weird without being able to dash/dodge. Plus, it’ll make the beginning of run much more fun.
Second one, the attack animations. Would it be possible for sword and whip wielders to have attack animations added (similar to Alucard, Richter, and Shanoa). I basically use these three characters the most because it simply feels more engaging when I’m able to see my character attack.
Just a thought. 🤓💭
#Dashing and attack animations

The game isn't designed around having a dash button
It simply felt weird chugging along early on a run without being able to dash/dodge. There are games just like this one (even on mobile) that has a dash/dodge button…. more of a screen quick-swipe. Which is why I suggested it, bc it can be implemented in.
This game was never designed around it, and has been out for years. It really doesn't need it.
I'm with Amars on this one; while I can see the vision and your perspective, this would entirely upend the balance of the game, possibly even moreso than the Darkanas because at least you can easily ignore those if you want. The tempation to dash out of a tricky situation would simply be too much for those who want a "vanilla" experience.
As for the attack anims, good idea, maybe some of the future adventure skins could add that.
though it could be really cool as like a unique gimmick stage or something
possibly like a platforming stage
True, and/or maybe a certain character could just have it in all stages; we have Sigma, character balance doesn't matter lol.
More attacking animations would be neat tho
Now that’s an idea! Platforming. Remembering the first time it went 2D for the Castlevania boss fight was a very nice surprise!
You all make great points. I can see there’s passion for the game here. Ppl can choose not to use the dash. Perhaps make it an option to turn it on/off prior to a run. Oh, and having some characters have the ability (not all characters) makes sense. Other than one playable character in Streets of rage 4, the game doesn’t have a dash.
But all in all, I’d prefer characters having attack animations. 😁
Thank you for understanding our points, genuinely, not everyone would've. You bring up a good point yourself about the toggle, maybe it could be a very late-game relic that unlocks it.
No problem, you’re welcome. It’s always good to get someone’s perspective.
