Not seen it posted anywhere else, so I guess it's on me to say something about it.

I had an issue earlier when I used Hector's mace and evolved it into the evolution, and when the weapon spun around and Crit, the game had a hard lag spike whenever the critical hit impacted an enemy. I report this as a problem because later down the line, with a Dracula run after obtaining the Black Disc, my game locked up after a half hour run when the mace, while I had Slash, critically impacted a large quantity of enemies spawned in from Panic Time Trisection Event (unsure if this was related). Is there anything happening behind the scenes that might be causing this?

Might be a memory leak, it's like the game is trying to process how big the damage should be, but can't keep up

I was mentioned to a few days ago that turning off 'Screen Shake' should fix it as a stop gap solution for the time being, haven't tried it since

Took some time, but I can now confirm; Turning off weapon screenshake DOES stop this problem.

So it might be a whole issue with how much screenshake the weapon causes

I have noticed that when the critically swung mace impacts an enemy, they cause, what I like to call, the 'utterly destroyed' disintegration effect. Which is appropriate and apt, given, you know, what they just got hit by. Is there something with said effect that may cause large freeze spikes in large triggered quantities?

Also, minor update on this bug; this also seems to be an issue on desktop, not just mobile. Tried the Stamazza with weapon screenshake on, caused the same issues. Turned it back off, worked just fine

I'm on public beta and noticed this on the PC build as well. Several times it looks just like stutter, but it eventually freezes hard and is unrecoverable.

Hey! The single frame hang is intentional to emphasise the WHOMP of the hammer. As long as it's not crashing, it's all good!

Just got the dlc a few days ago on PC. Got lag every time I crit. On the 2nd run using it I crash as soon as it evolves. Good weapon to kill a run.

Also happened to me 22 min into a run with the new DLC on Xbox Series X. It will swing and you have the pauses on the crits but it will sometimes fully pause and you can see a few frames of movement every so often (30+ seconds). This is all happening with the music still playing and I’m forced to quit the game from the Xbox Guide.

I only started getting freezes with Stamazza when I added Emerald Diorama.
