Tbh I am not big on super tough bullet hells, so i never got into the games themselves, but after playing through luna nights I loved the characters and kinda went outward from there. That is to say, my love of castlevania unironically got me into touhou.

Some random ramblings/ ideas I had for a bunch of smaller retro & indie games being added all at once as a single package DLC, DLC would include a single map, music tracks from all of the included franchises, and the following:

Pacman- Pac-Man as a character, ghosts (skins of each color) as hidden character, evil cherry enemies, pellet weapon that evolves to include power pellet which triggers after defeating a certain number of enemies with pellet, ghosts start with a hidden Soul Eater

Frogger- Frogger as a character, car enemies that speeds left and right across the screen, tongue weapon that pulls in enemies and when evolved adds a cloud of flies that flows the player and damages close enemies

Bomberman- Bomberman as a character, assorted enemies from the series, cross bomb weapon which places bombs periodically exploding in a cross pattern after a moment, evolved has the bomb’s fiery pillars rotate as it explodes

Tetris- Tetraminos as enemies which appear and say in one place or else drop from the top of the screen to the bottom, secret character is the L piece which cannot move up and starts with a hidden NO FUTURE with the sprite exchanged for various small Tetraminos

Galaga- player ship as a character, Galaga aliens as enemies and Boss Galaga as a mini boss which sucks in players to damage them, weapon is lasers which only shoot up, evolved shoots a large beam every third shot

Fall Guy- Fall Guy as a character, Crown as a collectible passive which makes gold fly toward the player with further levels increasing the range at which gold will fly toward the player, Big Yeetus as weapon (as seen on chaos roadmap), evolved is Thicc Bonkus

Balatro- Jimbo Jokester as a character, walking banana added as enemy, weapon is the joker card- every time you defeat an enemy of a specific time gain 1 chip & defeating number dog them in a given timeframe adds to mult, after a period of time chips are added up and multiplied then that number of damage is dealt to every enemy on screen of that same type, evolves into the jester hat (as seen on chaos roadmap) which passively increases both chips and mult for its stylishness

Celeste- Madeline & Theo added as characters, dust bunnies and spinning blades as enemies, Badeline secret character, Madeline starts with Bird which flies to and pecks at nearby enemies, Badeline starts with Ghost Clones which follow behind her, both combine with Strawberry (max health and recovery increase) to form Feather which makes ghost clones of the birds into a swarm of birds and makes ghost clones move much faster/ spawn faster, Theo starts with Crystal Toss which evolves into Kevin Block with Spinach

Battle Cats- Sexy Leg Cat & Macho Cat as characters, Valkyrie Cat as secret character, a lot of new enemies added: Doge, Snache, Those Guys, Hippoe, Pigge, Jackie Peng, Gory, Baa Baa, Sir Seal, Le'Boin, Kang Roo, One Horn, Teacher Bear, Croco, B.B Bunny, Squire Rel, Assassin Bear, Shy Boy, The Face, etc., Leg Cat has a kick weapon, Macho Cat has a rapid punch attack, bot evolve to be faster and stronger, Valkyrie Cat has a sweeping spear that flies out and has a chance to freeze enemies

Hatsune Miku- Hatsune Miku added as secret character, starts with a hidden Seraphic Cry whose regular attack is sprite-swapped to be giant music notes crashing to the ground and whose instant kill effect is sprite-swapped from multiple javelins to be a concert performance

Plants vs Zombies- Pea Shooter & Sunflower as characters, various zombie types as enemies, Pea Shooter starts with peas which evolves to a gunner’s helmet with Clover which increases size of peas and speed, also effects Pea Shooter’s sprite (changes to Gatling Pea), Sunflower starts with Sun Beam which has sun rain from the sky randomly and explode on contact with the ground (indicated by a bright landing spot), evolves into twin sun with the Pummarola which allows the Sunflower to regain health from the explosions and makes the explosions bigger

Undertale- Frisk, Undine, & Sans as characters, Frisk has a heart which evolves into a blade with MAX clover or a hug with MAX pummarola, Undine has a spear which evolves into blood circle which spawns spears out of the ground which only damage moving or non-moving enemies depending on its color, Sans starts with a snowball weapon which evolves into either a trombone with MAX spellbinder or a Gaster Blaster with MAX tirajisu

Other Possibilities (did not want to keep writing/ some I am less familiar with):

I know it has been brought up a bunch but I would like to see Touhou project collab.
To throw something completely out of left field is Metal Slug.
Another out of left field one would be a collab with FromSoftware the makers of Dark souls,demon souls and Elden Ring.
But let’s think this realistically from looking to the past on what’s most likely to come.
So we know the vampire is in another coffin somewhere and we not really sure how big this next dlc will be so we can go through the process of elimination which gets rid of a lot of these suggestions ether from copyright issues to other factors. Touhou is a likely candidate with the easiest to collaborate with but there’s are two things against it is the language barrier and well there’s over 150 characters I think it’s simple way way too big for I don’t think the devs really want something bigger then the current DLC.

Holy water jarate: reskin of jarate. Garlic: a weapon for heavy, gives heavy an aura that damages everyone within 20 meters or feet or whatever the range in TF2 is, along with this slows heavy down while increasing healing. wand: a secondary for Scout and Engi, a homing missile attack with lower damage than the pistol. Directors dance: emote, your character gets picked up by the golden hand and dragged down, with the director flying back in. Sigmas crown: a hat wearable by anyone, has a sparkly effect. Mirage robe: cosmetic, Spy now wears the mirage robe and each kill summons a clone for a few seconds (will be clearly distinguishible for a clone)

Also, SaGa Emerald Beyond, the game featured in the latest DLC, is a Square Enix game. Which means...while unlikely, Final Fantasy x Vampire Survivors isn't totally off the table.

I'd hope it wouldn't just be FF7 or basically "hey, you should play FF14." I wanna see some 6, some 4, some 1. And maybe even some 2 because we love Hilda.

The pixel remasters would fit right in graphically, and I know a certain someone who would really love to play as Rydia. Plus you can never have too many remixes of the FF4 boss theme.

This is what I would consider to be a fairly comprehensive list of important FF characters - all the playables, big villains, important supporting characters, super bosses as well as some common enemies and summons that are in most of the games.
I never played the games past X-2, so I used stuff like the Dissidia games as source for the games I'm not familiar with

I actually held back on some minor villains and supporting characters, as well as a lot of summons (tho I think that would most likely be the mechanic of the expansion rather than characters), but as you can see, spanning the entire series would be bonkers

Hey guys. How do we feel about a Blasphemous collab? I love the series, it’s also a perfect fit in terms of everything to do with VS. pixel art, ties into the whole gothic theme. Most importantly would function very similarly to the Castlevania DLC. I would love to see Cvstodia as a map and being able to use the Mea Culpa as a weapon. Along with many of the bosses as secret characters. It just fits too well in VS

Mega Man. Honestly. The Classic series alone has enough content to fill one Ode to Castlevania-esque DLC on its own. All the other series (X, Legends, Zero, Battle Network, etc.) would make it even more herculean in size.
