Yea its basically the best of both worlds, if you want no preferred gear at all u could run with every drop in the game but u can also customise it to fit to ur playstyle but thats all we know for now

U have to unlock it first and progress before u can freely customise it I think
Well, I mean, respectfully it's the exact opposite of what I'm suggesting, that's why I made the suggestion since I feel it should be the other way around
EXEs are not a form of meta progression if I understand correctly, which means they plan to allow the player to expand their loot pool mid run. I think it should start maxed and narrow mid run
EXEs are supposed to be a form of metaprogression they just suck currently but are getting a full rework imo I see what u mean with having everything available at the start I don’t think I care for it unless amps are gonna be as limited as they are now
I just hope its not tied to each characters exe tree tho I woulf hate having to regrind to have that option on every character
Oh that's right exes are the character subclass things, not the little gear chip things. In that case I don't have that much of an issue with it, except as you unlock more weapons the loot pool will still be diluted, so I think you should also unlock in run gear or holos that narrow it back down in particular ways
I totally get wanting that meta progression, it's the diluted late game I want to address
