#Were Assassins prism fights at one point? If so why the change?

I just had a thought about the earlier promotional content for the game, and I remember seeing this mini-boss fight with the swordsman.
Interestingly, it had elements of the structure of the old extraction system were you were put in an arena style battle in order to fight them. This sort of paralles similar aspects to the current build of the games prism system too. Additionally, there is more promotional material before the game was released were the sword master is is out in the world with some minions as well. Which gave me the notion that these might have been what we know now as prism fights now. In which we fight the modified mobs to collect prism to fight the crowns the true bosses.

However later we see other "mini-bosses" which we know now as Assassins which hunt the player down as the world tiers progress and become more dangerous.

As of now we have two the adept and engineer

This hurcheons back to the title is this true, or am I speculating?

On top of that do you guys think the roles should be reversed?

For April's issue of Game Informer magazine, we took a look behind the scenes at Hyper Light Breaker, the latest game from developer Heart Machine. In addition to an interview with Creative Director Alx Preston, we were able to view exclusive footage of one of the game's mini-bosses, The Last Master. Check out the reveal below.

I want to elaborate a bit on the second question. Should the roles be reversed? I ask this because of two things: the non-threatening presence of modified bosses and the way the assassin system actually works. One of the things I came to realize when playing is that collecting prism felt a bit underwhelming. The reason why is that the enemy variety comes from just modified mobs that have extra abilities. This makes fighting them somewhat different, but alas same-y, since I am seeing the same type of enemy with slight variations to them like their size, color, and the crown design hovering over them. Since they resemble something I am accustomed to, it makes fighting them derivative in a way. The prism enemies we fight do not, in my opinion, have any presence to them, which, if they did, would add into the spectacle of collecting them. What I mean by that is they have no gravitas or edge to them like the assassins do. These older trailers made me wonder if assassins being the prism fight were scrapped for the current system of modified mobs instead. Although I like the assassin system, would it not be more interesting if the assassins were the prism fights? They have way more style and presence in the world, rather than the current modified mobs we fight now. This would make them more interesting fights in general and change up how we approach fights if there were more designed for this purpose. This change would relegate the prism we have now to spawn later instead as roaming mobs at higher tiers, which I would think would be a good use and another way to get more prisms to circumvent the lack of assassin fights we would have if this were to change to this system. The idea would be that the prism fights would be more interesting and intricate because of who you're fighting, and the modified mobs spawn as a way to make fights in late game just as interesting to compensate for the lack of assassins, but help with gathering prism too.

its two parts a question and feedback

IMO roles should not be reversed at all

#

HOWEVER, they should make assassins spawn more often especially later on

My second point, because of the word limit, is that the most fun I did have was because of the assassins. It was not because it presented a challenge but because of its goofiness chasing my group across the map. I believe it is an interesting concept, but at the same time, I would think the system would be better used as mini-bosses in the traditional game design sense; especially since they are not being spawned as often and are underutilized. The previous promotional material gave me the idea for this, or at least the impression of this system existing at one point.

Forgot to put this in the post.

I had my own post about assassins I think they should drop more interesting loot and be a little more deliberate when they show up, I would love for them to show up at the end of cycle extraction fight for example

#

about your point that the prism elites feel samey, i don't really agree they can be some of the most dangerous enemies in the game even more than crowns

#

and if you had to fight the same 3 assassins to get prisms they will lose that interesting factor about them after a couple of runs

if the wild goose chase is the part you found enjoyable

But a reaper system would be cool too and final extraction as well
