Whenever I get low I can just extract to refill my hp and 3 medkits for free. There is no reason to ever buy medkits because you can just extract so much. Even just getting one on extraction feels like too much.
Also, medkits increasing their price every time you buy one feels like it just makes the game way harder for worse players specifically. I get why it's added, but I don't think it will be needed with that change.

I’ve also had this take for a good while! I feel some kind of rework in regards to this would help the health balance 
I think this is a good idea, and I also dislike how the price increase for medkits affects all players. I have a friend who gets hurt a bunch, buys up all the cheap medkits, and when I go to get my first one, I can never afford it. Maybe they should increase with individual player sycom level?

I disagree with this actually, rn at least to me there's a pretty good risk vs reward of "do I extract now because I'm low, keep going because I'm relatively close to leveling up, or set myself back a bit to grab an extra medkit?"
honestly, same.
right now, extracting does come with the risk of resetting enemies and thus making them stronger.
And if you still objectives to complete, you need those medkits considering how dangerous large groups of high tier enemies can be
I'm honestly conflicted about this, the main problem here is more about balancing
I think this kind of proves my point. To me this game is very easy. There is no risk reward part to extracting, because I can always stay until the next levelup, because it's that easy. To me this means this mechanic is unnecessarily punishing to less experienced players.

What if lvl up doesn't expand your health anymore and now it's more based on the breaker itself?
Like you have a set amount of health and just go full in with the class system thing they are already doing
And now make the shields you collect in the overgrowth have an armor system on its own

I play with 2 medkits cause 3 is too much imo, because with 2 fucking up actually starts mattering and the pressure is there when you stay
Idk, I play with one medkit, no upgrades and I kind of just plan ahead for extracting
It would also benefit the whole "distinguishing the breakers from each other"
Have Verm have the standard health while Ravona has less because she's "the stealth one" (at least that's what I understood from the bio)
So you can build around it with the preferred weapons and bytes
Maybe even have ONE exe that expands everyone's health of like 15

i don't agree with the title fully but i think there is a problem with meta progression giving you so much healing
and a lot of what people are experiencing are symptoms of that
I feel like there’s a compromise here where extracting refills 1 or 2 Medkits rather than the whole supply. Keeps the risk reward dynamic while not being too overpowered and encouraging careful play
Healing should be a resource imo it felt good earning 2 medkits. I might be in the minority in this but currently I also see extraction as the only reason to get medkits back and usually end up going until I run out of them there are so many shrines that essentially u cant really get punished fir extracting too much
There ia no risk to extracting. Loosing maybe 200 blood, if you didn't plan ahead is not a risk, when buying a medkit is also 200 at least. Extraction refilling 1 medkit is still way too much. I don't think extraction should give you that much for free when there are that many extraction points in a world.

alternatively bring back medigems as a currency you can extract with to buy pots at the hub while keeping the bright blood purchase in runs
problem with medigems is that you would need to waste heals you could use to stock up on them
i think medigems are good in theory but scrounging for random pickups is kind of a bore and very disconnected from the game loop, plus another currency might not be the way to go. Maybe you could buy them for mats?
Mats would need a buff for that
They drop in scarcities and the telepad tariffs are insane
I'll add my thoughts on medkits. I agree that extraction breaks the game. It is nice learn to play, but later it just kills the challenge. System as in dead cells would be nice: harder difficulty - less heals.

Why I got hp recovery item after killing a boss, and got 100% refillafter I leave arena?
And auto medkit use on 0 hp feels like cheese
well you didnt get that refill on leaving the arena
i wonder if it's some weird thing that the game thinks you are going to overworld from hub since it's a separeted zone so it's applying a heal by mistake

Honestly I think medkits simply shouldn't have such a steep incrementing cost, if at all
first medkit cost is fine, but once I start having high level up costs, there's no point to buying them mid run
It would be more interesting if there wasn't medkit refills on extraction, and I'd have to stay and budget bright blood to get more of them
instead of not refilling medkits, there could just be like a semi-difficult requirement for extraction
how about you need to defeat a crown/assassin

Honestly why not have something similar to elden ring? U refill after defeating a certain amount of enemies (should be much higher than in elden ring) and refill from high value targets aswell(assassin’s etc) I do think this wouldn’t really work with assassin unless auto heal is removed its to easy to engage and burn through it and still come out successful

well they could drasticly nerf the healing on auto heal as a slap on the wrist
like only being 30% effective compared to actually using it

prob 50% tho, 30% might be too low
it already only gives like half health at full
make it an EXE so people have to waste points on that if they want to improve from 30% to 50%
There is a risk to extracting: you lose your bright blood, and the World Tier increases by about a 1/4. I agree there needs to be a larger penalty if the full medkit refill stays. The simplest solution would be to increase the World Tier by 1/2, 3/4, or full tier. This way, the refilled med kits become extremely useful because the game becomes more difficult upon reentry.

if enemies are made way harder players will just have to keep extracting to get more medkits
in my opinion it makes more sense to limit the option of extraction to have some challenge instead of making the game harder if you extract
