#Player model-based actions when locked on

Currently it feels kind of weird to lock on to enemies, as it provides basically zero benefits (if not straight up disadvantages) from just having freecam, because of the model-based actions that don't automatically point towards the locked on enemy

In the future, is it going to work more like Dark Souls (i.e. the character points towards anything you lock on to even if you move in another direction), or will it just be based on your movement inputs/model direction regardless of locking on?

I dont know exactly what you mean but I agree the lock on and camera need work.

It should do something besides lock on your camera to an enemy you can't even hit half the time

#

It also (in my opinion) makes parrying underpowered... Half the time that I try to parry, I'm looking away from the enemy because I am trying to disengage or lure one enemy from a big group

Yes I agree 100%. I have more thoughts on this.

Parry sucks too. I don't know if it's direction based but I can't seem to activate it properly. Not sure how the lock on affects this.

Which means you have to face the enemy...

If that's true, they need to change how either the parry or the lock on works, because locking on would also make it impossible to parry anything other than the one enemy you are locked onto.

Totally agreed, right now trying to dodge everything is much more viable, even though parrying seems to be the intended way to reliably heal

This sole issue (and people pointing it out in reviews) is what's stopping me from currently buying the game. Actions being locked to the direction your character is facing instead of where your camera is facing is horrendous in 3rd person action. Games like Zelda and Darksouls have had this issue solved for years, so it's rather disappointing that this was overlooked

Truly horrendous overlook indeed, this needs to be prioritised in the upcoming updates!

tbh some games handle it fine, e;g monster hunter

you're typically locked into small angle changes during combos with some moves having more directional control than others
