#Poison & Solar creepers tanking framerates

Hi, recently started playing (started as a summon druid) and noticed my framerate would tank in bigger packs. Began troubleshooting by lowering graphics settings, tweaking driver configs, closing other apps, etc. Nothing helped. Next I searched in discord for similar issues, and I noticed a few other people hinting at creepers being a culprit of this (I am only speaking from the perspective of someone playing a summon druid as that is all I've played in this mod so far). I proceeded to do some testing on shenk and his relatively dense packs.

Test 1: All summons from the tree. Framerate drops to sub 30s during the fight.
Test 2: No poison creeper. Framerate only drops to mid-40s.
Test 3: No poison and solar creeper. Framerate does not drop at all.
Test 4-10: Same as test 3, framerate never dipped.

Something about the ground DoT effect of these creepers is causing framerates to take a big hit I suspect?
Note that carrion creeper had no effect on the framerate.

firstly, poison and creeper don't work together so i wouldnt spend points in both. something with their ai and wanting to do breaks when both are up.

that being said, i dont think ive heard anyone else have this issue. ill load up a druid i a bit to test around.

posting graphics settings/gpu/cpu might help too.

The decay is already really high because the particles stack up easily, what patch of the mod are you on?

PC specs should run this fine with no lag, I'm not at a PC so I'll shutup after this question but what resolution and resolution scale?

Laptop 1920x1200, 100% scale, tried dynamic resolution and DLSS, no difference.
Desktop 1440p, same deal, no dlss cause radeon

#

I can do some additional testing to see if it hits cpu or gpu hardest if that helps

Bleh k. I had problems when reworking cause of solar and vfx quality and ended up reducing the spreading and stuff by quite a bit

For what it's worth I've tried cranking everything to lowest settings in the game graphics options and it made basically zero difference, MAYBE gained up to 5fps during the big dips. Hard to tell with a small sample size of 10ish runs.

Nah it's prolly something silly. Does poison creeper do it in vanilla?

Nope, I've played summon druid in D2R last ladder and never noticed any FPS drops. Basically always had the creeper out until it started being useless in NM.

#

This was on the desktop.

Its common issue dont use the poison creeper. It recorded in vanilla too something to do with3d particles exceedinglimits
Your FPS drops to unplayable levels.

#

the other creepers works fine.

#

even if you crank your gpu to lowest it will still have issues, unfortunately Blizzard didn't addressed it properly that is my understanding not sure the mod adjusted it.

#

My summon druid is not using poison creepers due to fps issue

#

even a level 1 poison creeper will drop your FPS
