I'm still looking for some app runner so I can avoid using the default windows key to browse for applications, I only have in mind how dmenu or rofi applets work and not sure what the terms of this for windows would be so I can do research on this

Check out PowerToys Run or Flow Launcher, both work well

What icons? If you mean the ones from the workspace for example, you need to install JetBrains Nerd Fonts
