Hello everyone from Orbit!

OrbitCDP is an open-source collateralized debt based stablecoin protocol for creating stablecoins for all types of currencies.

The Stellar network was made to support digital representations of any currency, but right now there are not many choices. This is due to a variety of reasons ranging from liquidity to just not being supported.

We believe that having the ability to use your own currency on the blockchain will not only grow usage on the Stellar blockchain but also spread economic freedom.

We have recently released our MVP and are excited to continue developing it with the support of the Stellar community!

We are receiving a lot of feedback and advice from many community members, as well as outside sources, as our project has been accepted into the Cornell Blockchain Accelerator program. This could potentially lead us to demo our product at the Cornell Blockchain Conference in front of over 800 industry leaders from companies like Coinbase, Goldman Sachs, and Microsoft.

If you're curious to learn more, please feel free to reach out to us ( @obtuse iris @wet tendon ) here or in DMs.

Thank you!

Why everything in your documentation and site is from BLND? @ashen star @broken crag is this part of the Blend protocol? 👀

obtuse iris
#

We are two separate projects but the blend protocol is handling liquidations and collateralization.

#

The OrbitCDP smart contracts will be the admins of the pool, pegkeeper, and supplier.

Perfect that's good to know, I feel that needs to be stated more clearly in both the site and documentation because if the first thing people see when going to the site is exactly the same thing you see in the blend site that will scare new users

obtuse iris
#

That’s true, I’ll update that shortly.

Thanks!

We have our first pitch tomorrow to the Cornell Blockchain Club. If successful, this opportunity will enable us to showcase Orbit at the Cornell Blockchain Conference in front of 800 industry leaders from companies such as Goldman Sachs, Coinbase, and Microsoft, as well as other prominent crypto foundations like Ava Labs and Polygon Labs.

Hello @obtuse iris can you tell us a bit more about your smart contracts? I see that in Testnet your oUSDC is a stellar asset, how it is managed then? Can you make your repo public?

wet tendon
#

I will make the repo public give me 15min

obtuse iris
# rough ore Hello <@603296640568393746> can you tell us a bit more about your smart contract...

Our smart contracts manage supply of stablecoins, manages the blend pool (soon a DAO will be involved) and there will be another peg keeper that interacts with AMMs like Soroswap to maintain the peg, similar to crvusd’s pegkeepers. We did have to do a lot of research about stellar and other protocols being built which led us to Blend. We are still experimenting with letting the smart contract deploy the token we did do this before but got recommended to do it this way because it would increase the complexity of the initialization function and better be done manually.

#

GitHub being made public right now, the wrong GitHub is listed on submission. Will update that soon.

@obtuse iris @wet tendon are this contract deployed?
Are these the contracts that Control the blend pools?
O don't find in your docs how this is done

#

I see that the Tresury contract is controlled by an admin address. Where is the CDP part of this?

wet tendon
#

They control the supply of oUSD to the blend pool. They are deployed.
Treasury Factory: CBSLBGJ3B5SPMJOI4MBE5HHCQA6CY2CQBM5T273WUVUFZFNVQRPDSB3O
Treasury: CCUWKDMCOVEE33HFQYGWKYTW4RURXWPN6IUQDIK5IM2CUUOGH4E2T3CO
BridgeOracle: CDLLKRH3AWOLIUT7KVX5EWY4LHOYPBVUL4KX3UDL6BM7ZSG4IYFXBPMF

#

The controlling of the blend pool is currently done by an admin wallet but this would be done by a DAO later on. This would be able to modify the parameters of the blend pools such as the backstop take rate

wet tendon
rough ore
wet tendon
#

If you are worried about security that the admin wallet can rug the project currently that is not the case. The Treasury contract only has 2 functions that interact with supply increase_supply wich mint and deposits into the blend pool and decrease_supply wich takes out and burns the tokens. The admin wallet cant touch those tokens.

Hey @obtuse iris following up on this. We just got awarded by SCF to integrate DeFi protocols into our risk infrastructure and to create public community dashboards for them. I am currently conducting a prescreening of projects that are eligible to integrate. Would you be up for a brief intro call? Feel free to DM me.

In our grant applications you find more information on our project: https://communityfund.stellar.org/project/alterscope

Late post but the Orbit team attended the easya hackathon over in Austin alongside a bunch of talented developers. Even though we didn't qualify to present, Orbit introduces MaxFX. We built currency leverage trading on Stellar by using Orbit (Us!) for stablecoins for all currencies, Blend for borrowing capital, and Soroswap to handle conversion.

https://github.com/orbit-cdp/MaxFX/

We may see leveraged fx trading soon on stellar 👀

oUSD for sure but we are planning on releasing 1 or 2 extra at release. We will have to check with the community and dApps what these will be

Are you guys getting an audit @obtuse iris

# ashen star Are you guys getting an audit <@603296640568393746>

Also some extra context for the audit we decided to wait till we have the DAO contract done so it can be audited together. The DAO contract will be admin of the Blend pools and we want to limit what it can change (For example we don't want the backstop take_rate to be modified and some of the reserve_config variables)

timber ridge
#

They should be eligible for audit bank once the contracts are ready

ashen star
wet tendon
ashen star
#

Yeah it should be possible -you just set your soroban governor contract as the admin of the admin contract

broken crag
#

You could also consider using the security council to do this.

It could be some contract that allows people to permissionlessly check an auction, and if it does something you want to explicitly block it will use it's privileges to cancel it.

Do note that the DAO can conduct a vote to remove the council at any time.

#

Otherwise, you could also just fork the Soroban Governor contracts.

It sounds like you would just need to add some logic to "propose" that fails if some1 submits a calldata proposal that attempt to do something you want to block.

Since this is purely limiting, it doesn't pose much or a security risk.

OrbitCDP Update:

The audit is scheduled for mid-December. Once completed, the mainnet launch will follow with the new frontend.
Additionally, the DAO structure is being established.

We have also submitted Hermes during SCF 32, if passed we can see Forex coming to Stellar 👀

TLDR: Orbit released soon.
