D2RHUD Version: No Idea
Issue: Game crashes

I'm unable to get TCP or RMD-MP to launch through the launcher, TCP crashes almost instantly with the start of the blizzard logo sound and RMD-MP crashes after a few seconds of the main menu music. I've tried just redownloading like 5 times now but it still ends up the same. If I run the game through the installed folder or with a shortcut and settings it works fine but D2RHud never loads cause I assume its never hooked. Not really sure what else to try as I've restarted my PC, reinstalled the whole launcher, and deleted the save folder a few times. Game integrity check comes back ok each time and I've set exclusions in Windows AV.

Seems like issue with your save files. Launcher > My Files > Save Files > Delete All

I deleted the save folders for both TCP and RMD but same thing happens

Not sure if this is more helpful but running them again after the first time they generate save files it gives a different error

Well all I can tell you currently is that you have something corrupted. Did you try to mess with any of these files manually?
Basically, the logs show 2 things:
A) That it's trying to load both TCP and RMD files at once....thats not normal.
B) The actual game launch is fine, no launcher issues...game itself crashing (and almost always because of save files in that case).
Which would make perfect sense if you screwed with your files and it's now trying to use both ^^

thats just me trying to launch both after one another, this is a completely fresh install i havent messed with anything beyond opening the launcher and the logs

if the files are corrupt then so be it but I've tried redownloading the TCP files 6 or so times now so I just have to assume it won't work for whatever reason

Well it might help to show both of these folders, because again logs tell a different story.
Logs say it's trying to load your saves from the TCP mod....but if you look further in log, you are launching RMD mod.
So of course this would cause crash, as game tries to load save files that are completely incompatible.

Well a bit at a loss currently then...as from the launcher side of things, everything seems to be working as intended.
Create a shortcut to d2r.exe and run the rmd-mp mod using the same arguments you see in the launcher...see if that works

yeah i mentioned this in the OP it works with a shortcut i did it again now just to make sure but D2RHUD never shows up not sure if it should or not

So it seems like something is interfering with that then. As it keeps saying your hud is out of date, which should only happen the first time.
Due to permissions issues or something along those lines, it's not actually updating or using the HUD file correctly it seems.
You can try to browse to launcher folder and manually delete it. If issue persists, then please do this:

Download 'Everything' app from google search, it's just a windows search tool that doesnt suck
Search for d2rhud.dll and see if there are any copies stored elsewhere, such as WIndows/System32 or such...which would indicate permission issue

That search app only returns the singular instance in the launcher folder, I deleted D2RHUD and had it redownload from pressing play and it creates the file in the launcher folder so not really sure how it's failing to update honestly

swapped over to no filter and hit play, also turned off the auto-update in case that was an issue

I have about 10-15 minutes I can spare via screen share, but according to logs...it's just permission issue or such on your pc. The game is starting correctly, and it's the game itself that is crashing.

Yes we tried different things but it seems like there's just some incompatibility with my setup and D2RHUD and neither of us were able to figure out what, I appreciate the time regardless
