The Galapagos Spider box shows its legendaries coming from the stone pool, not a themed selection of mostly powerful cards like all previous dual PC boxes.
Is this a bug or a deliberate nerfing of these boxes? It's not worth spending gems to get cards I'm just going to recycle...

I think this is a display bug with the new layout. If you click the (i) button on the top right, and then the (i) button again on the top left, it will show the correct pool, which is 2 LPC, 2 L animal items and Ray/Farns

tapping on the "Level x Legendary" or "Level x Epic+" icons has always shown those pools.

It now takes 3 taps/clicks to see the card and mastery pools.
