Leveling up offers different rewards. For example, you don't unlock CM until level 12. I think the biggest bonus is for new players, going up a level refills all your arena and adventure energy.

They changed the quest structure a while ago, an old quest for 10 exp was removed so only old players have 215 instead of 205.
