Web version makes you restart

It assigned a new player id number onto an old account

this used to happen every once in a while, but you'd do a very short tutorial playthrough and then it would say there was another account associated with the player info, and do you want to choose that or the new one. Easy fix. but now it appears to have assigned completely new ID numbers and broken the connection between the long standing accounts. I'm still seeing my guild even though new accts aren't even supposed to be allowed in a guild so there's definitely something funky going on.

Same here, user_id and kong_id have both been overwritten. But I can see my guilds chat.

How can I send you my old and new user_ids?

Just saw a server push to fix this issue go through, and was instructed to reload, but the only difference is now I've been disconnected from my guild chat and still stuck in the new account. 😫

I went the whole way through before reporting this and no sign of being able to choose my real account. I restarted (I'm playing on a laptop) after y'all did the server push just now and it's still just showing me the "player" new accounts that overwrote my actual accounts.

I can see my Penny account on my mobile, but I play primarily on my computer/laptop, and the accounts are still messed up no matter if I log out, change browsers, clear cache, etc.

and I just got a chance to play though on the browser for Penny, and still did the new player tutorial, and assigned me ANOTHER brand new player id different from the last one. Something is definitely borked with the non-app version of this game!

if you ever did those old "submit your fave combo for a chance to win gems" thing on kong's old chat forums, you might have used the right player id number in there. That's how I tracked mine down before I realized I could check the number in the mobile app. just have to go to kong for your profile page and look at your posts.

From what I can see is that it only affects the browser version. It affected me also but my mobile is completely fine and so is my steam version. Its just my browser version. I have gone through the tutorial and it hasn't given me an option to switch back to my actual account

Yup, there is no kong-login button. So even after the tutorial and you go to quest 'login to kongregate', nothing happens.

The next problem on the app is: There are often problems with switching accounts.

Whoever has access to the database should be able to fix this problem quickly.
Not the problem itself, why new ids have been connected to the accounts (sure this can be a tricky thing to find, but it is possible to prevent by unique indexes in db over multiple cols), but to remove those wrong ids or at least to disconnect them to keep them in db.

My guess is it isn't about a bad account tie in a DB, it's that the kong site isn't getting an account to tie to at all, thus it resets every time you log in, because it thinks you've never played

someone messed up the mapping of the kongid to the synapseid and gives you a new/different one if I had to guess in the message=getUserAccount API call. because the following "recordEvent" and "init" use the wrong user_id

and the fact that you cannot trigger this "selection" screen manually where you select which (synapse) account to use is a whole other issue. This locked out players in the past

Sure, I can imagine this. I am a developer too. And I do this now for more than twenty years. I feel with you. But one golden rule is: first fix the most bad bugs, then make new releases. No one would be angry, if a release will come later, cause no one knows about it. But if the members can't use their accounts, what they do for years, this is frustrating and sure a lot of members are lost within the last 24 hours.

They've stated this isn't getting fixed over the weekend and siege is also messed up even if you can log into your existing account so it's also cancelled. They've been trying tons of stuff but it looks like we won't see possible fixes until Monday at the earliest. I am going to look at it as a silver lining and actually take a mini break from the game and hope once fixed they do give out some sweet, sweet compensation. 🙂

i just went from chrome to where i was being affected by this bug to edge some differences are that even though i was unable still to log into my main account and forced to start a new one when i clicked the sign up or log into kong mission it did ask for my age but after selecting that it booted me off it i also noticed switching from chrome to edge did start a new game again on my main kong account gonna test other browsers and see what i find

Taking a look in our first guild, I am very afraid. We were in the last few month evrytime in the top 100. Now 8 members are off since this update. This is frightening. Finding good new members is not that easy.

Except I'd played on Steam before so it kept my data. How many people have used Steam too? Also, I remember why I hated playing on Steam ... no videos, so no way to speed up research w/o paying.

I couldn't find the save data on my PC from the browser version.

Also, Steam AT chat doesn't sync with PC chat and mobile chat. That's something I never noticed before.

If you are not using the web version, you should have no problem.
If you use the web version, don't log out.
As long as you are logged in in your account everything is fine.
Trying to login creates a new userid and new kong id and you start with the tutorial and a level 1 account.

Heads up browser players, I didn't have any problems till today, tried Steam, no luck, but I have downloaded bluestacks5, it is an android emulator(I use it for another game that does not have a web version), and was able to download AT, and had to click on red K and was finally able to choose my regular account and not the new tutorial one

Yeah, thanks again. It's good to know that Steam keeps a cloud save, or maybe there was a save file on my hard drive with my info, and that it gave me the choice to choose what account I wanted to use. I'll be keeping the Steam version and I'll keep using it periodically to keep it up to date.

This come back later thing is no bug. They disabled it in the web version as far as I know.

They said on Monday they were working on fixing it but it does not appear to be fixed. Lots of us are waiting to use Kreds. If there is a good thing though, they said that those offers don't expire so it should still be there if they fix it in a week/month/longer
