I have a couple questions I'd like definitive answers for. Anyone can answer, BUT you must be 100% positive, no speculation please.

  1. Bodyguard 3 vs burn 3. Does the burn debuff still get applied even if it does zero damage this turn? (Current Hypothesis = No, it does not.)
  2. Bodyguard 3 vs burn 3+burn 3 debuff. Does it deal 3 or zero? Does it need to actually hit in order to add the debuff damage? (Current Hypothesis = 3 damage)

I'll try to keep my eyes open to see if I can get either of those things to happen in any of my matches.

Not an answer but 10 bodyguard vs 2 burn would also have the same thing right? As long as the burn is not greater than the bodyguard your question applies, not exactly the same amounts?

Yeah, the amounts aren't important, just the scenario. The amounts are just examples.

Also, as an update, I've heard from a trusted source that I was correct about scenario 1. The debuff is only applied if damage is actually dealt.

I can't say for sure since it wasn't easy to reproduce, but no 3 burn vs 3 bodyguard would not apply the burn effect.
The combined burn affect does get through bodyguard. Example, 38 bodyguard took 2 damage against 21+19 (40) burn.

May I ask what is meant with 'burn debuff'?
As far as I know burn just hits the target with the highest HP & does damage (if not blocked because of shield, bunker & bodyguard > burn)

Burn also then applies an effect to that card that combines the burn damage if another burn hits that card. For example, my first card has burn 3, and my second has burn 5, and my opponent only has 1 card. Burn 3 will hit, and then burn 5 will hit, but will do 8 damage because the opponent card has already been hit by burn 3 this turn. The card is burned, and new applications of burn kinda flare up the old ones
