Good morning-soon-to-be-afternoon, what shall we learn today from many 3d art once more? Midpoly modeling.

In between the performance-focused low poly models and the CGI/Cinema-use high poly models are midpoly models- typically used in newer games and likely including Blue Archive's own in-game models of course if you want to keep that smooth anime look. It'll look better than a low-poly model and not require as much time spent doing things such as baking high poly models into low poly normals while also keeping the 'look' of a high poly.

Not all games do have the luxury of always having midpoly models due to lowpoly models still being used for majority of mobile games and whatnot. But the magic of midpoly modeling is faking a highpoly look while the game can reasonably run well.

Utaha's SMG is (very likely) based off of the MAC-10 given the magazine placement, ejection port position, and wired stock- I had to modify the existing geometry to replicate the signature back curve but the front piece resembling a foregrip I'd expect out of normally from more expensive submachine guns such as the MP5. Lots and lots of customs need to be done... lmao
