#

Q: What is Blue Archive?
A: Blue Archive is a tactical gacha role-playing game in which you fulfill the role of Sensei, a teacher who helps their students with their problems and conflicts, while also serving as a leader for them in combat. Story-wise, the game follows a visual novel format with a currently ongoing main story. Gameplay-wise, you deploy up to 4/6 students on the battlefield, as well as up to 2/4 special units, who serve as support for the strikers and can't directly take damage. During combat, you will build up cost, which you can use to select a student's EX skill.

#

Q: What regions are there? What's the best region to play on?
A: The global version of the game currently has the following regions: KR, TW, Asia, NA, Global (EU). JP and CN regions have their own client and are not in line with the global release schedule in terms of content.
Content-wise, it doesn't matter which global region you play on, since all regions get the same content. In terms of competitive play, currently the KR and TW servers are the most competitive, while Asia and NA are the least competitive. Additionally, it's worth noting that if you plan on finding friends/clubs from our Discord server, given that it's an English-speaking server, you'll mostly find players on the Asia, NA, and Global (EU) regions.

Note: The game does not give you the option to select which server you want to play on. The server will be determined automatically based on your region when you create your player account.

#

Q: What's the difference between the normal version and the teen version?
A: The two versions of the game are the same content-wise, however, the teen version has a few minor changes to better align with the age rating: Swimsuit Izumi's and Ako's recollection lobbies are slightly altered, and parts of Karin's relationship story dialogue are altered. The version of the game that you have access to is automatically determined by your device's app store based on age authentication.

#

Q: How does the global version differ from the JP version of the game?
A: Blue Archive is first released in Japan by Yostar Games, and as such, all content (new students, banners, raids, story, etc.) gets rolled out there first. Schedule-wise, the global release of the game is approx. 5 months behind the JP version, with ongoing plans to reduce it to 3 months. This also means that global players have a 5-month clairvoyance and can more easily plan their pulls and the content they want to prioritize.

Note: We have rules regarding content that's not yet available on global: #🗣️ba-general message. Make sure your posts conform to these posting guidelines! If you'd like to discuss about JP content, you're welcome to get the JP role via id:customize (however, you may get spoiler for future content, so tread carefully).

Q: Who is "meta"?
A: Blue Archive is the type of game where every content requires different units, so there's no one "universal" team that you can use for everything. This means that the "meta" is heavily defined by the content you want to clear and the strategy you want to use. However, there are a few students who can universally be used for most (but not all) content, and therefore can be considered "meta" by the traditional sense of the word:

  • Kisaki: special student who can increase the EX skill damage output, provides shield and cost regeneration;
  • Ako: special student who can increase the crit rate and crit DMG of a single student;
  • Himari: special student who can increase the ATK of a single student and provides cost regeneration;
  • Rio (fes limited): special student can copy a striker skill card and reduce its cost by 1, can DEF debuff on basic;
  • Camp Hare: striker student who can increase the ATK of a single student (EX) and students around her (basic);
  • Dress Aru: striker student who can increase the crit DMG (not rate) of a single student;
  • All anniversary units: Wakamo, Swimsuit Hoshino, Mika, Swimsuit Hanako, Dress Hina, Armed Hoshino, Shiroko*Terror, Rio, Neru (School Uniform), Nagisa (Swimsuit), Mika (Swimsuit). Anniversary units are more often than not really overpowered and always worth to pull and build. These students can only be recruited during anniversaries.
    Keep in mind that early on, you might not see the benefit of using some of these students, but having them early means you have an advantage in mid/late-game content.

#

Q: How do character variants work in the game?
A: It is very important to remember that character variants in Blue Archive aren't just different skins. They're entirely separate units, with different skill sets, stats, and relationship stories (meaning you have to build them separately). As odd as this may seem, you can place multiple variants of the same student in the same formation. For example, you can have a formation with both Hina and Swimsuit Hina and they'll both show up as strikers on the battlefield. If you find this behavior too odd, you can disable it in the settings, however this is not really recommended, as may intentionally be handicapping yourself. Variants will also share bond stats among each other.

#

Q: What is an L2D/Live2D/recollection lobby/memorial lobby?
A: Recollection lobbies are animated sequences of characters that you can display on your game's home screen. These lobbies can be unlocked after reaching a specific relationship rank with a student. L2D (short for Live2D) refers to the type of technology used for these animations, but it is also the colloquial term used within the community for recollection lobbies.

#

Q: What special student lobby lines are there?
A: Students will say special voice lines every time you open the normal lobby (not the recollection lobby) during the following occasions:

  • New Year
  • Halloween
  • Christmas
  • Your birthday
    Students will also say a special voice line when you tap on them in the lobby during their birthday.

Note: The time at which these voice lines play depends on your device's date and time settings.

Recruitment/Gacha

#

Q: How does the gacha system work?
A: Blue Archive’s gacha system is referred to as “recruitment”. You can use Gacha_Pyroxene 120 Pyroxenes to recruit one student or Gacha_Pyroxene 1200 Pyroxenes to recruit 10 students at once (10-pull). Sometimes, you may have Item_GachaTicket_1 Single Recruitment Tickets or Item_GachaTicket_10 10-Recruitment Tickets, which can be also used for recruitment. The gacha system has 3 tiers of characters:

  • YellowStar (R) - 78.5% rate
  • YellowStarYellowStar (SR) - 18.5% rate
  • YellowStarYellowStarYellowStar (SSR) - 3% rate (6% during anniversary banners).
    -# ※ Every 10-pull guarantees there will be a 2☆ or higher unit on the 10th slot.

#

Q: Should I reroll? If so, who should I reroll for?
A: Whether or not you should reroll depends on how you want to play the game in the long run. If you want to have an advantage in competitive play later on, then you should consider rerolling for one or more of the recommended reroll targets. Otherwise, just keep whatever you get or reroll for whoever you like the most.

Q: What is Precision Recruitment?
A: Precision Recruitment is part of the 10-pull recruitment tutorial, allowing you to select the pull result you’re the most satisfied with. You can perform a 10-pull up to 10 times, and for each attempt, you will have 3 options: continue playing with the result from that roll, save that roll to compare against another attempt (this will override your previously saved roll), or roll again and consume one more attempt. This makes it easier to reroll for a specific student, however, you should keep in mind that not all students are included in Precision Recruitment.

#

Q: Who are the students included in Precision Recruitment?
A: Only students who were part of the initial release of the game are included in Precision Recruitment. Apart from the majority of 1☆ and 2☆ students, the following 3* students are included: Aru, Eimi, Haruna, Hibiki, Hifumi, Hina, Hoshino, Iori, Izumi, Karin, Maki, Neru, Saya, Shiroko, Sumire, Tsurugi.

#

Q: What do you get for rolling duplicate characters?
A: Duplicate characters will grant you Item_Eligma Eligma and the student’s Eleph, depending on the rarity of the student:

  • 1☆: Item_Eligma 1 Eligma and 1 Elephs
  • 2☆: Item_Eligma10 Eligma and 5 Elephs (20 Elephs if the student is rate-up)
  • 3☆: Item_Eligma 50 Eligma and 30 Elephs (100 Elephs if the student is rate-up)

#

Q: What are rate-up banners?
A: Rate-up banners are banners in which the chances of recruiting a specific student are increased (0.7%). The student featured in a rate-up banner can also be recruited using Selective Recruitment, provided you have enough Gacha_SummonPoint recruitment points. If you roll a rate-up student for the first time on a banner, you get 100 Elephs of that student for free, effectively allowing you to instantly 4* them. Dupes pulled on the same banner will not reward additional Elephs.

#

Q: What are Gacha_SummonPoint recruitment points?
A: Recruitment points can be used to guarantee the recruitment of a rate-up student. Every time you roll on a banner, you get 1 recruitment point (if you do a 10-pull, you'll get 10 recruitment points). All currently active banners share the same recruitment point pool, meaning you can pull on any of the current banners to gain points. You will need a total of 200 recruitment points (a.k.a. 200 pulls) to be able to exchange them for a rate-up student. This is commonly referred to as “sparking” within the community. Recruitment points DO NOT carry over to new banners and will be turned into CraftItem_KeystonePiece keystone pieces once a banner’s period ends.

Note: the game does not have “soft pity” or any similar feature. The rates are consistent and never change, regardless of how many times you’ve pulled on a banner. Consult the Rate Info section of the Recruitment menu for more information.

Q: What is Archive Recruitment?
A: Archive Recruitment is a separate banner that allows you to select a student from a provided pool and increase the rate of pulling that student to 0.7%. Archive Recruitment Points do not contribute towards regular Pick-Up recruitment banners and do not expire. Likewise, Recruitment Points accumulated from other banners do not affect the Archive Recruitment Points count.
To pull on the Archive Recruitment banner, you may use Archive Recruitment Tickets or normal gacha currency.
The 100 Elephs you normally get on banners as a first-time rate-up bonus DO NOT apply to Archive Recruitment.
3* students who are in the Archive Recruitment pool will not appear in other banners.

Q: Which students are in the Archive Recruitment pool?
You may view the pool of students who are available in the Archive Recruitment Pool on this link: https://m.nexon.com/probability/7044?client_id=MjcwOA&language=en

Q: What does “farming” a student mean?
A: Farming refers to obtaining enough Elephs of a student in order to exchange them and recruit the student, unlock mystic, or limit break their Unique Equipment. Farmable students are the ones whose Elephs you can earn through hard missions, events, or buy from the shops. Number of Elephs required to unlock a student:

#

Q: How do you level up?
A: Spending Item_AP AP anywhere grants you one account experience point for every Item_AP AP spent. You can use Item_AP AP to sweep missions, event quests, or commissions. Sometimes the game has 2x account EXP periods, which allows you to gain EXP twice as fast (during these periods, it’s a good idea to use Gacha_Pyroxene Pyroxenes to refresh your AP).

#

Q: What is the AP cap?
A: The AP cap is the second number you see after the slash in the AP section (e.g. 10/140 at level 40). If the amount of AP you currently have is under that number, you will automatically gain 1 AP every 6 minutes. It is recommended to always spend all your AP for better efficiency.

#

Q: How do I gain AP?
A: You can gain AP in various ways:

  • Automatically every 6 minutes, by keeping your AP count under your account’s AP cap.
  • From your cafe. The higher your cafe’s comfort is, the more AP you will be able to generate.
  • By buying AP bottles from the ShopItem_ArenaCoin Tactical Challenge (PVP) shop.
  • By refreshing using Gacha_Pyroxene Pyroxenes. It’s generally a good idea for new accounts to refresh 3 times, especially during 2x EXP reward periods. Do keep in mind that the more you refresh per day, the more expensive it will get. The amount of Pyroxenes you need:
    • 1x-3x: 30/refresh
    • 4x-6x: 60/refresh
    • 7x-9x: 100/refresh -- it's not recommended to refresh past this point
    • 10x-12x: 150/refresh
    • 13x-15x: 200/refresh
    • 16x-20x: 300/refresh
  • By completing certain daily tasks (daily login, holding lessons, etc.).

#

Q: What is sweeping?
A: When you fulfill the 3* requirements for a stage, you will unlock the sweep button for it. Sweeping allows you to clear the stage for a given number of times without having to enter it again. It also allows you to collect the stage’s rewards for each sweep.

Note: You don't have to fulfill all 3* requirements at the same time. You can, for example, finish an event quest with a slow formation that can survive all the way through and then come back with another formation which can clear the stage faster, at the expense of some students being unable to survive.
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1262164819239370803/1262165416713654302/sweeping.png?ex=66959aa5&is=66944925&hm=eb5f74665bb6554708bb1bf4912e8fa9da5889f6b51ebd2fac69a20173d09d2f

#

Q: What should I sweep on?
A: There is no definitive answer to this question, as it depends on what materials you need at a given time. During events, it is recommended to sweep on event quest stages, as they drop event-specific currency, which can be exchanged in the event shop for various rewards. It is also very recommended to sweep on whatever content has 2x or 3x rewards at the time. Additionally, it's highly recommended to sweep on at least one hard mission every day. Recommended hard missions to farm: https://hina.loves.midokuni.com/Summary/Hard.

Teambuilding

#

Q: Is there a tier list?
A: This question does not have a definitive answer because it depends on the content you want to clear. Blue Archive’s gameplay is designed in a way in which all students excel in some content, while not being viable in others.

#

Q: What attack types and damage types are there?
A: Aside from Normal attack and defense, the game has 4 additional attack types (Explosive / red, Piercing / yellow, Mystic / blue, Sonic / purple) and 4 additional defense types (Light / red, Heavy / yellow, Special / blue, Elastic / purple). Your student’s attack type and the enemy’s defines how much damage they will deal to the enemy:

#

Q: What is terrain affinity?
A: To balance out the game’s units, another factor you should take into consideration is terrain. Every fight you enter has a specific terrain and some students are more effective in certain terrains than others. There are three terrains (Indoor indoor, Field field, and Urban urban) and you can see each student’s terrain preference on the student’s page. As a new player, you shouldn't worry too much about terrain affinity, as it's generally better to bring a stronger damage dealer with the wrong terrain than a weaker one with better terrain mood.

Terrain affinity will determine a student's damage multiplier (how much more/less damage they'll do) and cover block rate (how much more/less likely it is that the cover they're camping behind will block shots from enemies). The following terrain affinities exist in the game:

  • MoodSS SS: 130% (1.3x) damage multiplier & 75% cover block rate
  • MoodS S: 120% (1.2x) damage multiplier & 60% cover block rate
  • MoodA A: 110% (1.1x) damage multiplier & 45% cover block rate
  • MoodB B: 100% (1x) damage multiplier & 30% cover block rate
  • MoodC C: 90% (0.9x) damage multiplier & 15% cover block rate
  • MoodD** D:** 80% (0.8x) damage multiplier & 0% cover block rate

#

Q: What is level penalty?
A: Level penalty refers to the damage reduction buff the stronger unit receives in the battle depending on the level difference between the two units. This buff is 2x the level difference, up to 60%. For example, if your student is lv.30 and the enemy is lv.45, the enemy will receive 30% (2% x 15) less damage from your student. This works the other way around too, meaning if your student’s level is above the enemy’s level, you will take less damage from the enemy. Note that this depends on your student’s level and not your account level. The recommended level of a stage does NOT always equal the enemies’ level (see websites like SchaleDB for the real enemy levels). The level penalty applies to every gamemode, including Tactical Challenge.

#

Q: What team would you recommend for [content]?
A: While there is no one team that can clear everything, for general content such as missions, quest stages, etc., you can follow this template setup:

  • 1 tank (e.g. Yuuka or Tsubaki are great general-purpose tanks); defense-based tanks generally require Equip_Bag_T4 T4 bag equipment for survivability;
  • 1 or more DPS (damage-per-second). Most of the time, for clearing missions, it’s recommended to bring AOE (area of effect) units instead of ST (single-target) units, since they can hit multiple enemies at once;
  • 1 or more healer, depending on how confident you are that your team can survive (e.g. Serina, who is a low-cost healer with great healing stats and auto-heal; it is very recommended to get Serina to at least 2*, even if it means buying her Elephs from the Item_Eligma Eligma shop);
  • (optionally) 1 or more buffer (e.g. Kotama, who can buff your allies’ ATK in a circle).
    While you can enter a battle with fewer than 6 students, it is recommended to always bring a full team. This is because the fewer students you have in your formation, the slower your cost will regenerate. Make sure to pay attention to the attack type and damage type synergy of the content you’re clearing. For general content, terrain affinity doesn’t matter that much.

Note: Using auto/preset teams is never recommended, as auto isn't smart enough to know what the best units are for the specific type of content you want to clear. Avoid relying on auto, as you might end up wasting resources if you try to blindly build them.

#

Q: How does student leveling work?
A: The maximum level of a student is capped at your account’s level. Students don’t automatically level up, instead, you have to level them up individually using ExpItem_SSRExpitem_SRExpItem_RExpItem_N Activity Reports. As a new player, it might seem tempting to level up every student you have, but later on, it will become increasingly more expensive. So, as a general rule of thumb, only level up the students you need. Events can be a good source of Activity Reports for new players, but you can also farm them in Commissions (however, do keep in mind that this is only viable if you’ve cleared the higher Commission stages). Sweeping on Item Retrieval H or above during 2x/3x reward periods is more ideal.

#

Q: How should I level up a student’s skills?
A: With the exception of collab units, students need the following materials to level up their skills:

  • Blu-rays of the school they belong to (for EX skills) or tech notes of their school (for passive skills). You can farm these through events, the ShopItem_BountyCoin Bounty tab, ShopItem_RaidCoinShopItem_EliminateRaidCoin_HighShopItem_EliminateRaidCoinShopItem_EliminateRaidCoin_High raid shops, or some missions (although the latter is not very optimal).
  • One or more artifact. You can farm these through events, the ShopItem_BountyCoin Bounty tab, and various shops.
  • Credits.
    The rarity of a Blu-ray/tech note/artifact depends on the level you want to get to. There are 4 variants: beginner (gray), normal (blue), advanced (yellow), superior (pink). For clearing general content, going overboard with skill leveling is not recommended. Just focus on what you need the most in a given situation (Need more damage from a DPS? Level up their EX and/or ATK increase skills until you can comfortably clear). New players should avoid going above level 7 for passive skills , as these require superior materials which are harder to obtain from them.
    Additionally, going from lv.9 to lv.10 (max) on a passive skill requires a different item - the Item_STN Secret Tech Note, which can be obtained through events and various shops. These are pretty rare, so use them sparingly.

#

Q: How MUCH should I level up a student’s skills?
To conserve resources, it's important to not overbuild. Common breakpoints for skills (aka when to stop with leveling) are as follows:

  • EX:
    • lv.3: only uses beginner and normal Blu-rays and artifacts, good balance of stat improvement and resource use;
    • lv.5: the highest EX skill level, only uses advanced and superior Blu-rays and artifacts, as well as a ton of credits.
  • Passive skills:
    • lv.4: only uses beginner and normal tech notes, as well as beginner artifacts, small stat increase at the cost of conserving artifacts, but still good enough for early-game content;
    • lv.7: only uses normal and advanced tech notes and artifacts, a very common breakpoint mid/late-game, offering a great balance between stat improvement and resource use; you will not go above this level often;
    • lv.10: the highest skill level, only uses advanced and superior tech notes and artifacts and it's very expensive; additionally, you will need a Item_STN Secret Tech Note to get to lv.10; only recommended for certain units and skills.

#

Q: What is equipment and how do I get it?
A: Equipment (commonly known as “gear” within the community) refers to the 3 item slots at the bottom of a student’s page. These can give your students various stats, such as higher ATK, more HP, and better crit. Once you equip a student with a piece of equipment, you can level it up (using Equip_Stone_SSREquip_Stone_SREquip_Stone_REquip_Stone_N Enhancement Stones) and unlock more tiers (using equipment blueprints), giving the student even better stats. Equipment blueprints can be farmed through missions or you can purchase selectors through the ShopItem_ExpertPermit Expert Permit shop (albeit this is generally not recommended* for new players). Tiering up and leveling up equipment also depends on your needs from a specific unit. For example, tanks usually receive a pretty noticeable HP boost at T4 middle gear. As a new player, T4 is a good tier to stop at until you clear more content and can farm better equipment.

*) Getting a T4 choice ticket from the Expert Permit shop to give your main tank a T4 bag is a good idea, as it can make general content clearing more comfy, (Volume 3 Chapter 3 spoilers) ||including the Hieronymus story fight||.

#

Q: What does “Unlock Mystic” do?
A: “Unlock Mystic” is a mechanism that uses Elephs of a student to raise their star level. You can earn Elephs by pulling duplicate characters, purchasing them from the Item_Eligma Eligma shop (albeit not recommended most of the time), or farming (in the case of farmable students). Besides stat bonuses, unlocking mystic comes with the following benefits:

  • 2* (YellowStarYellowStar) unlocks the student’s enhanced skill
  • 3* (YellowStarYellowStarYellowStar) unlocks the student’s subskill and increases the max relationship rank from 10 to 20
  • 4* (YellowStarYellowStarYellowStarYellowStar) increases the max relationship rank from 20 to 30
  • 5* (YellowStarYellowStarYellowStarYellowStarYellowStar) unlocks the student’s Exclusive Weapon and raises the max relationship rank from 20 to 100.

#

Q: What is an Exclusive Weapon?
A: The Exclusive Weapon (commonly known as Unique Equipment or UE within the community) refers to the weapon you unlock when you unlock a student’s mystic to 5*. Once equipped, this weapon can be leveled up using materials you can find from the Scrimmage tab. Furthermore, you can limit-break the weapon using the student’s Eleph, just like you did with their star level. Besides stat bonuses, this comes with the following benefits:

  • 2* (BlueStarBlueStar) improves the student’s enhanced skill
  • 3* (BlueStarBlueStarBlueStar) improves the student’s mood on a certain terrain
  • 4* (BlueStarBlueStarBlueStarBlueStar) strikers get a 10% attack type effectiveness, specials get 0.5 maximum cost increase

#

Q: What is a Unique Item?
A: Some students have a 4th equipment slot which is known as Unique Item (commonly referred to as “bond gear” within the community). These are items that get unlocked automatically when you reach relationship rank 15 with the student. Unique items have two tiers: T1 (which gives stat bonuses) and T2 (which improves the student’s basic skill). To get a unique item from T1 to T2, you will need to have relationship rank 20 with the student, have 4 of one of their most favored gifts, as well as certain beginner and normal artifacts.

#

Q: Whose Unique Item should I get?
A: Short answer: anyone you use or plan on using.
Long answer: You should plan ahead and concern yourself about bond gear depending on the content you want to clear the most. Getting the bond gear itself should be fairly simple, but tiering it up to T2 might require a bit of grind. Yuuka's bond gear is good to get as it gives her more defense at T1 and higher evasion at T2, making her even stronger as a tank. Aru's bond gear is also really good, specifically at T2, as it will allow her to deal way more damage with her basic skill. These are just two examples, but it mostly boils down on the content you plan on clearing.

Q: What is Talent Unlock?
A: The talent system is a late-game system stat upgrade system that uses PotentialItem_WB_ATK Talent Workbooks, OOPArt_PhaistosDisc T1+T2 artifacts, as well as Item_CreditPoint credits to increase certain stats of the students. Talent Workbooks can be obtained through the [Final Restriction Release](#faq message) gamemode. Currently, the following workbooks are available:

#

Q: Whose talents should I unlock?
A: Please keep in mind that [talent unlocking](#faq message) is a very expensive operation that uses a large amount of materials, as well as special items that are not easy to obtain! You should be very careful with who you're using them on. A good practice is to save them until you actually need them for a specific unit. The stat upgrades are negligible for the majority of players and only make a difference in high-level play.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Do NOT unlock talents that do nothing for a specific units. For example, it's a very bad idea to unlock Mika's healing talent, since she has no skills that use her healing stat. The game will warn you about this if you try to unlock a talent that's useless for the student, so only ignore that warning if you want to flex or you want to max out a waifu.

Q: What is relationship rank?
A: Relationship rank (commonly known as “bond level” or “bond rank” within the community) is a statistic that defines your relationship with a student. You can increase this statistic through lessons, headpats in the cafe, or giving gifts to the student. Relationship rank upgrades also give additional stats up to rank 50, but you will generally not see a noticeable difference unless you're speedrunning very late-game content. Raising relationship rank also unlocks MomoTalk stories, which give you more insight into the student’s life and personality. Additionally, MomoTalk stories give you pyroxenes. A student will generally not have any more momotalks after a certain point (the highest being rank 9), however, an extra MomoTalk story is unlocked at bond 15 for students who have a Unique Item. The maximum relationship rank is capped depending on the student’s star level:

  • 1*-2*: max 10
  • 3*: max 20
  • 4*: max 30
  • 5*: max 100

Gamemodes

#

Q: How do I do Missions?
A: Missions are the main gamemode of the Campaign menu. They are divided into several increasingly difficult areas, each having 5 normal stages (and sometimes an extra stage) and 3 hard stages. When doing a mission, you will have to optimally navigate the map and defeat various enemies until you reach the final boss. Later stages will require two or three teams and you cannot use the same student in more than one team. You will have to divide your teams based on the teambuilding reference above. To 3* a stage for sweeping, besides defeating the final boss, you will also have to finish the stage in the least amount of turns and getting S rank a given number of times.

Note: The stages with the -A prefix are generally harder and are not necessary for getting the final reward of the area. If you struggle with them, you can ignore them until your units become stronger.
Missions can drop growth materials such as equipment, Blu-Rays, and artifacts, however, only farming equipment blueprints is worth it, as the other materials have very low drop rates (1-4%).
Tip: The rewards section of the stage preview shows equipment rewards in order of how high their drop rate is (first being the highest and last being the lowest). So if you're looking to farm for a particular equipment, it's more efficient to farm a stage which has that equipment in the first slot of the rewards list. Example: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1262164819239370803/1262821174249787514/Normal_mission_rewards_rates.png?ex=6697fd5e&is=6696abde&hm=55959e19d7f2ce7eb6e1db80b5345fc7ed265430f47f4f8c68adffda6e223e4f&

#

Q: How are hard missions different from normal missions?
A: Compared to normal missions, hard missions will have better material drop rates, as well as student elephs, but can only be cleared up to 3 times a day (or 6, if you refresh using pyroxenes by attempting to enter the stage or sweep while you have no more attempts left), and the tiles on the map won’t be visible until you get close enough to them. Farming a student through a hard mission generally takes around 2 months, but it’s very luck-dependent, considering the Eleph drop rate is 40%. Refreshing using pyroxenes is usually not recommended unless there’s a 2x/3x hard mission period and you really want a specific student. Farming a student through hard nodes may seem like a very tedious and long process at first, but it will be very useful in the long-run, especially when you're farming for star upgrades and weapon upgrades.

Q: What is the difference between "Concentrated Command" and "Simple Strategy" when clearing missions?
A: There are two ways to clear and 3* any given normal or hard mission:

  • Concentrated Command: In this mode, you'll be presented with multiple stages as well as a puzzle map made of hexagonal tiles (hexamaps). You will have to deploy one or more units onto the starting tiles, then inch your way towards the boss of the stage while also defeating other sub-stages on the way. In order to 3* a stage in this mode, you need to fulfill the following mission objectives:
    • Defeat the final boss;
    • Acquire S rank (X) times (defeat all enemies + finish the stage within (Y) seconds + all students survive);
    • Clear the stage within (X) turns.

Note: this mode is the only way you can clear some of the challenges in the task menu (which give Gacha_Pyroxene Pyroxene rewards. It is also the only way to obtain the Gacha_Pyroxene Pyroxene box in Hard stages.

  • Simple Strategy: Unlocked after clearing Mission 2-2. In this mode, you don't have to clear the puzzle map and you'll be sent straight into the boss instead. This is useful if you just want to clear the stages quickly so you can farm them later on, but you will miss out on the achievement tasks and hard mode Gacha_Pyroxene Pyroxene boxes (until you redo the stage in Concentrated Command mode). In order to 3* a stage in this mode, you need to fulfill the following mission objectives:
    • Defeat all enemies;
    • Finish the stage within (X) seconds;
    • All students survive.

#

Q: When will I unlock [feature/gamemode]?
A: Clearing certain missions also unlocks more features and gamemodes. Here is a summary of them:

  • Area 1: Starting skills - stage 3, Commissions - stage 4
  • Area 2: Cafe - stage 1, Simple Strategy - stage 2, Events: stage 3, Lessons: stage 4
  • Area 3: Bounty - stage 1, Crafting: stage 3, Club: stage 4, Scrimmage: stage 5
  • Area 4: Total Assault - stage 1, Grand Assault: stage 5
  • Area 5: Final Restriction Release - stage 1, Joint Firing Drill - stage 3, Skip battle - stage 5
  • Area 6: Tactical Challenge - stage 1
  • Area 12: Cafe no. 2 - stage 5

#

Q: What is Bounty?
A: Bounties are stages where you’ll fight the Kaitengers in various terrains in exchange for growth materials such as blu-rays, tech notes, and artifacts. This gamemode is unlocked after clearing normal mission 3-1. You get 6 bounty tickets every day (or 15 if you’ve purchased the monthly and bi-monthly pyroxene packs), which you can use on any of the bounty areas. Bounties also have an academy buff, which will increase the effectiveness of units from specific schools. While this can be helpful, it’s not necessary and it’s often better to bring a stronger unit without academy buff than a weaker unit with academy buff. Bounty stages drop growth materials for specific schools:

  • Overpass: Gehenna Gehenna, Shanhaijing Shanhaijing, Valkyrie Valkyrie. Artifacts: OOPArt_NebraSkyDisk Nebra Sky Disk, OOPArt_NimrudLens Nimrud Lens, OOPArt_Aether Aether, OOPArt_CrystalHaniwa Crystal Haniwa
  • Desert Railroad: Hyakkiyako Hyakkiyako, Trinity Trinity, Arius Arius. Artifacts: OOPArt_PhaistosDisc Phaistos Disc, OOPArt_Mandrake Mandrake, OOPArt_AntikytheraMechanism Antikythera Mechanism, OOPArt_CrystalHaniwa Crystal Haniwa
  • Classroom: RedWinter Red Winter, Abydos Abydos, Millennium Millennium, Wildhunt Wildhunt. Artifacts: OOPArt_WolfseggSteel Wolfsegg Steel, OOPArt_RohoncCodex Rohonc Codex, OOPArt_VoynichManuscript Voynich Manuscript, OOPArt_CrystalHaniwa Crystal Haniwa
    When farming these stages, always go for the highest stage you can farm, as it can drop materials from the lower stages too.
    The Bounty menu also has a shop which contains blu-rays, tech notes, and artifacts, however, you should only buy things from this shop if you have a lot of ShopItem_BountyCoin coins and/or really need a specific growth material.

#

Q: What are Commissions?
A: Commissions are stages which allow you to farm activity reports and credits. Commissions require AP to enter. There are two types of commissions, each are increasingly harder and require more AP for a single sweep, but in turn they result in higher grade drops:

  • Base Defense: In this commission, you will be fighting hordes of sweeper enemies (heavy defense) rushing towards your students. Bringing a strong tank such as Tsubaki and luring her forward (e.g. with Serina) is a common practice for this commission type, since it makes it harder for the sweepers to hit your DPS units. This commission type grants you ExpItem_SSR Activity Reports.
  • Item Retrieval: In this commission, your goal is to defeat Nero (special defense) as many times as you can within 30 seconds of each spawn (up to 5 times). The enemy does not deal any damage, so a common practice is to use multiple DPS units and one or more DEF debuffers (e.g. Akane) to defeat it faster. Once you defeat Nero, it will respawn with more HP and the 30 second timer will reset. You only need to defeat Nero once to clear the stage, but to get 3* on it (thus allowing you to sweep), you will need to defeat it all 5 times. This commission type grants you Item_CreditPoint Credits.

#

Q: What is Scrimmage?
A: Scrimmages are challenging stages in which you can fight students from various academies. These stages can be quite the difficulty spike for new players because you need to strategize for multiple defense types while also keeping in mind the skills of the students you’re fighting. Scrimmages are unlocked after clearing normal mission 3-5. You get 6 scrimmage tickets every day (or 15 if you’ve purchased the monthly and bi-monthly pyroxene packs), which you can use together with AP, on any of the scrimmage areas. These stages will drop weapon parts, which are materials required for leveling up a student’s exclusive weapon.

#

Q: What is Tactical Challenge?
A: Tactical Challenge is the game’s player-versus-player gamemode in which your task is to come up with optimal attack and defense teams. You will be presented with a list of players you can attack using your attack team, however, you will not have control over what your students are doing. The battle is on auto mode, so there is a fair bit of RNG involved, but you still need to strategize optimally. The defense team you set up is what other people will be fighting when they select your name in the list. If you’ve just started with Tactical Challenge, you will be fighting bots until you reach the higher ranks (bots are usually named after a student, their student rep is the same as the first unit in their defense team, and their defense team makes no sense). You will get Gacha_Pyroxene pyroxenes, ShopItem_ArenaCoin Tactical Challenge coins, and Item_CreditPoint credits every day based on the rank you have. Additionally, you will get ShopItem_ArenaCoin 3 Tactical Challenge coins every time your defense team gets a win. You also get 5 Tactical Challenge tickets every day, which you can replenish using pyroxenes. This gamemode generally shouldn't be your primary focus - as long as you do your daily fights and collect your rewards, you've done enough.
You may also find the following guides useful, if you'd like to know more about this gamemode:

#

Q: What are seasons in Tactical Challenge?
A: Seasons refer to the 6-month period in which a Tactical Challenge with a specific terrain is available. When a season resets, you will be thrown back to the very last rank in a new bracket and will have to climb your way up again. Because you get pyroxene rewards the more you climb in a specific season, you can choose to either replenish your tickets to reach the highest ranks faster (useful on day 1, since the good players won’t have occupied the top ranks) or wait and climb 5 times every day instead (cheaper, but more risky because the top ranks might be occupied by people you can’t defeat). Both options will result in more pyroxenes in the end, so it’s up to you which one you want to choose.

Note: There are two metrics - overall best rank (which never resets) and season best rank (which resets every season). Both metrics will give pyroxene rewards, however, you'll get pyroxenes for the season best rank on every season reset.

#

Q: What is Total Assault?
A: Total Assault (commonly referred to as “raid”) is an occasionally available gamemode in which you will have to fight a boss with a given set of mechanics every day for the 7 days it's open. Total Assaults are divided into 8 difficulties, Normal being the easiest and Lunatic being the most difficult. This gamemode also has a leaderboard each season, which is limited to the game server/region you're playing on. The highest difficulty you can clear + your clear time are what determine your best season score, which will determine your rank on the leaderboard. At the end of the season, you will receive trophy and ranking rewards based on your final rank. You will also receive milestone rewards based on your total score across the raid's duration.

#

Q: How do tickets work in Total Assault?
A: Each day, you will be granted 3 tickets, which you can use to fight the boss on the difficulty of your choice. Defeating the boss on a given difficulty once per day will let you sweep your remaining tickets on that difficulty, but you'll have to re-beat the boss the following day to sweep again. To unlock a difficulty, you need to defeat the boss on the one before it, which means on the first day of the raid, the highest difficulty you can clear is Hardcore (Normal and Hard are unlocked instantly), second day will be up to Torment, and the third day will allow you to enter Lunatic difficulty. Once you enter a raid, the ticket will be used and you will have one hour to defeat the boss with as many formations as you need (which cannot have the same students). Failure to defeat the boss will result in your ticket being lost (commonly referred to as burning a ticket).

Note: It is highly advised to enter a Mock Battle to practice the boss and your rotation before using up a real ticket, as they are free to enter as many times as you need. Only enter using a real ticket once you can confidently clear the raid in a mock battle, to avoid losing tickets.

#

Q: How should I go about teambuilding for raids?
A: Since each raid has different mechanics, the optimal teams will also always vary. For the most part, however, you will be using one strong damage dealer unit (which we will refer to as hypercarry), as well as supports which are tailored for the raid boss you're fighting. Borrowing an assistant (typically the hypercarry), will allow you to clear difficulties you wouldn't otherwise be able to clear (tip: you can look around in #1108594770332373143 or #1265561608684306475 for borrows). Do keep in mind, however, that you can only borrow one assistant per ticket and you can't borrow the same assistant from the same person more than once a day. See Causew's general raid guide for more information about each raid's mechanics and strategies you can use:

#

Q: What are the differences between Extreme and Insane+ in Total Assault?
A: The biggest difference between the two is that the boss will have a specific attack type on Insane, Torment, and Lunatic difficulties. Unlike lower difficulties, where the boss has normal attack type, on these difficulties, the boss will deal more or less damage depending on your students’ defense types, so you should pay extra attention to the synergy while making a formation. Apart from these general differences, Insane and above occasionally also introduce slight differences in the boss mechanics.

#

Q: What is Grand Assault?
A: Grand Assault is a gamemode that’s very similar to Total Assault, with the following differences:

  • The boss will have 3 defense types, each requiring a different optimal team.
  • You get one Grand Assault ticket for each defense type every day you log into the game.
  • The tickets stack, meaning you don’t have to defeat the boss every day. Once you defeat the boss, you can sweep anytime to collect the rewards.
  • Your ranking on the leaderboard will be determined by the sum of the best scores you got on each defense type (you need to clear all 3 to get a ranking).
  • You don’t have to clear every difficulty to unlock another, just the one you can confidently clear.
  • Only one of the defense types has a Torment difficulty.
  • Lunatic difficulty does not exist.
  • You will not get pyroxenes depending on your rank. Instead, every rank gets a limited Item_GachaTicket_10 10-pull ticket at the end of the season. This ticket will expire on the last day of the following month (for example: if you get the ticket on April 15th, it will be valid until May 31st).

Q: What are Preservation Count and Preservation Reward?
A: In the Total Assault and Grand Assault gamemodes, "Preservation Count" refers to the daily "insurance" you get in case you fail to clear the raid on a ticket. "Preservation Reward" refers to the rewards you get when you use a Preservation Count: ranking points and coins for the highest difficulty you've cleared before. You get one Preservation Count each day during a raid season.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: In Grand Assault, you will not get a Preservation Reward if you haven't cleared a lower difficulty than the one you tried and failed to clear.

#

Q: What is Joint Firing Drill?
A: Joint Firing Drills is an occasional gamemode in which you have to use up to 3 separate teams to defeat the same enemies. You get 3 JFD tickets every day which you can use to open a room and clear any of the 4 stages up to three times (the room is open for one hour). If the one hour expires before you get 3 clears, you will be given points depending on the number of times you cleared. Your final rank will determine the amount of ShopItem_JFDCoin JFD coins and Item_CreditPoint credits you’ll receive. Once you’ve used one ticket, you can use the remaining tickets to sweep. You have to use your tickets daily, or else they will be nullified.

#

Q: What are the different JFD types?
A: There are currently 4 different Joint Firing Drill types:

  • Shooting Drill: You have to defeat a single enemy 3 times in the same stage.
  • Defense Drill: You have to defeat hordes of sweepers coming towards you.
  • Breakthrough Drill: You have to defeat a series of enemies 3 times in the same stage, while healing the scarecrow every time. Healing the scarecrow will give a defense debuff to the enemies.
  • Escort Drill: You will be accompanied by an Avant Garde robot which will help you defeat the enemies, however, you need to keep it alive, or else you will fail the stage.

#

Q: What are the differences between the 4 stages in JFD?
A: When opening a JFD room, you can enter one of the 4 stages 3 times. You do not have to enter the same stage on every attempt. The first two stages are basically identical and the only difference is the level of the enemies. The third stage also introduces a gimmick (buff, debuff, etc.) and the fourth stage introduces a secondary gimmick. You should build your teams according to these gimmicks.

Q: What is Final Restriction Release?
A: Final Restriction Release is a challenge gamemode where you need to fight an increasingly difficult boss across up to 124 stages (also known as floors). The stages are divided into 5 sections, each section adding a new gimmick. Compared to other raid-like gamemodes (such as [Total Assault](#faq message) and [Grand Assault](#faq message)), FRR differs in the following things:

  • You can deploy 6 strikers and 4 special units;
    • This also means you'll have 5 skill cards to cycle through and you can have up to 20 skill cost. Cost regeneration is also faster than usual due to the increased amount of students.
  • You have to defeat the boss using a single team;
  • A single season lasts for 30 days;
  • There are no pyroxene rewards (apart from the one-time tasks you get once per account);
  • There are no scores, leaderboards, or end-of-season rewards (there are, however, milestone rewards that you can get once per season);
  • You do not need a special entry ticket to fight the boss - you can do it whenever you want;
  • There is no time limit;
  • You can [borrow one student](#faq message) per fight, but the same student can only be borrowed once per day. Borrowing does not require credits and you will also not get credits if someone borrows your student. Failed attempts won't count towards your borrow usage. FRR has its dedicated category of borrows that you can set up.

Final Restriction Release is currently the only way to obtain PotentialItem_WB_Heal PotentialItem_WB_ATK PotentialItem_WB_MaxHP [Talent Workbooks](#faq message).

You can learn more about Final Restriction Release, as well as the current bosses for this gamemode, in Causew's comprehensive Final Restriction Release guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nHWGKKoxKaId2755yCr2FOnmQZwjQ4FxoBsYlLGLmOw/edit. If you're stuck, you can always ask in #🗼final-restriction-release.

#

Q: Do I need to clear every single stage in [Final Restriction Release](#faq message)?
A: No, you do NOT have to clear each stage one by one. The stages are divided into 5 sections, which means it's enough to clear the highest stage in each section (or the highest that you can). Clearing a stage will also mark every stage below that as cleared and you'll get all milestone rewards up until that stage.

Q: What is the Allied Operation?
A: Allied Operations (commonly known as “world raid”) are occasional events in which a powerful boss with a global HP pool (restricted to your game region) is available for a limited amount of time. In this gamemode, you will be able to use the event’s currency to open a room and fight the boss. If you fail to defeat the boss with your team, you may re-enter with a smaller amount of event currency, and you can even use the same team again. Additionally, you can borrow up to 3 assistants at the same time per fight (not per event currency). Once you defeat the boss, the damage you dealt to it will be added to the cumulative HP pool.

#

Q: What is a Conquest?
A: Conquest is an occasional event gamemode in which your task is to occupy tiles on multiple areas and defeat all the enemies on them. Conquering tiles, as well as fighting enemies, will cost AP. Occupied tiles can also be upgraded using shop items. Once all tiles are occupied and upgraded, you can start placing units from the recommended schools on the most optimal tiles to maximize drops when you sweep them. Conquests are also a great source of earning credits, as each AP milestone will grant you credit rewards. Try to occupy and upgrade every tile before collecting the credit boxes to maximize your credit output.

#

Q: What are assistants and how can I get them?
A: Assistants (also known as “borrows”) are students from other players that you can use in a Total Assault, Grand Assault, Joint Firing Drill, Allied Operation, and Conquest. For example, you can borrow a fully built DPS unit for a raid to help you clear a certain difficulty. You can only have one assistant per ticket and you cannot use the same assistant from the same person twice a day (but you can use the same student from another person). Borrowing an assistant will deduct Item_CreditPoint 40000 credit points from your account. You can find assistants by joining a Club and/or adding people as friends. There is also an option to borrow a random assistant from a random player, however, you have no control over what random borrows you'll see in the formation screen. You can also set up your own assistants for others to borrow, granting you Item_CreditPoint 50000 credit points for every use, as well as minutely credits.

Shops

#

Q: What is recommended to buy from the Normal Shop?
A: The Normal shop uses Item_CreditPoint credit points and refreshes every day (unless you manually refresh it using Gacha_Pyroxene pyroxenes). You can only buy a specific item from the normal shop once per refresh. If you have enough Item_CreditPoint credits to spare, you can buy the Equip_Stone_SSR Enhancement Stones (for equipment leveling) and the novice and normal artifacts. ExpItem_SSR Activity reports should only be bought as a last resort from this shop. Refreshing with Gacha_Pyroxene pyroxenes is generally not recommended.

#

Q: When to use Item_Eligma Eligma in the Eligma I and Eligma II shops?
A: You should only buy Elephs from the Eligma I shop if you really need to limit break a student to clear a specific content. Buying Elephs for farmable students is generally not recommended and should only be used as an emergency resort. Using Eligma in the Eligma II shop is almost never a good idea and should also only be used as a last resort (for example: if you really need a specific artifact).

#

Q: What should I buy from the raid shops (Total Assault and Grand Assault)?
A: These shops have two types of currencies - ShopItem_RaidCoin normal coins and ShopItem_RaidCoin_High rare coins. You can use these coins to farm Elephs, buy Item_STN secret tech notes, or blu-rays and/or tech notes you need to prepare for the next raid/JFD. As a general recommendation, you should plan ahead depending on the content you want to clear in the future, and farm materials from this shop according to the needs of that content. Set up personal goals based on content or character milestones (such as anniversary units, who are always recommended to build) and slowly work your way towards those goals.

#

Q: What should I buy from the Tactical Challenge (PVP) shop?
A: During events that have great farming potential (or if you really need Item_AP AP for something), the best items to get from these shops are the energy drinks (AP bottles). You can get Item_AP 90 AP from these bottles alone using ShopItem_ArenaCoin 45 Tactical Challenge coins. You may also refresh the shop up to 3 times by spending ShopItem_ArenaCoin 10 coins per refresh, which means you can buy a total of Item_AP 360 AP from this shop for ShopItem_ArenaCoin 210 coins. In any other situation, you may buy student Elephs (e.g. Mashiro's and Utaha's) or just stockpile them to have enough when you need them for AP bottles.

#

Q: What should I buy from the Joint Firing Drill (JFD) shop?
A: As a new player, you should prioritize farming student Elephs from this shop, as well as Item_STN Secret Tech Notes to stockpile them for later use. You may also buy ExpItem_SSR Activity Reports from here if you're in dire need of them. CraftItem_FusionStone_SSR Fusion Stones are used in the [Material Fusion](#faq message) section of the [Crafting](#faq message) menu to craft your existing artifacts into other materials you need, however, as tempting as it might seem to buy these, early on you'll probably end up spending too many valuable resources with this, so it's not recommended to do so, unless you know what you're doing. Artifacts may also seem tempting, but you should only buy them if you absolutely desperately immediately need them.
Late-game, your shop priority should be: Item_STN Secret Tech Notes, Elephs (unless already farmed all of them), CraftItem_FusionStone_SSR Fusion Stones, Artifacts (if you absolutely desperately need them). Buying ExpItem_SSR Activity Reports from this shop is not recommended if you're at this stage in the game.

#

Q: How does the ShopItem_ExpertPermit Expert Permit shop work?
A: The Expert Permit shop contains elephs for limited or event units, activity reports, credits, firing pins, as well as equipment selectors from T2 to T7. As a non-max level player, you shouldn’t use expert permits too much, since you can only earn them through daily and weekly missions. Once you reach max level, you will earn expert permits based on how much AP you use (similar to how you earned account level experience before). When you’re at this point in the game, expert permits will be a decent source of lower-tier equipment selectors.

#

Q: Can I recruit unowned students through the Expert Permit shop?
A: No. The Elephs you can buy from the Expert Permit shop are for limited or event welfare units and can only be used if you already own the student. You can, however, still farm these Elephs in advance, in case you will pull on the limited student's banner in the future, just don't farm them in hopes of recruiting a limited student.

Story

#

Q: Do I need to do missions to unlock main story episodes?
A: No, there are no mission requirements for unlocking main story episodes. However, you shouldn’t neglect the missions either, as they help you unlock more game features and modes, as well as allow you to level up. There are story fights that require bringing your own units, so they will help you prepare for that.

Q: Is there a recommended/"canon" read order for the main story volumes/chapters?
A: Early on, you're presented with multiple volumes you could start reading right away. While there is nothing wrong with reading the volumes in any order you want, it is generally recommended to read them one by one until you're locked out of new episodes. Here is an order you can follow as guideline (note: V = volume, C = chapter):

  • V1C1, V1C2
  • V2C1, V2C2
  • V3C1, V3C2, V3C3, V3C4
  • V4C1
  • VExC1
  • VFC1, VFC2, VFC3, VFC4 - this is generally the midpoint between the first and second main story arcs
  • V4C2
  • V1C3
  • VExC2
  • V5C1

Q: I’m stuck at a boss in Volume 3 Chapter 3 Episode 24, ||which requires my own units. What should I do?||
A: ||The boss and the enemies in this episode are level 57, meaning it will be difficult to clear this stage unless you’re level 40 or above. Having Iroha will make this stage much easier, however, it’s still very possible to clear even without her. Tsubaki is a good tank to use here, but will still be difficult without Equip_Bag_T4 T4 bag equipment. Chise is good for clearing the blue defense mobs, while Mutsuki and Akari are great for the boss itself. You should also bring at least one healer (or a healer and a buffer, if survivability isn’t a problem). It’s a lot of trial and error, but you’ll get there eventually. You can see a few example clears here, pay attention to the timings and positioning:

#

Q: How do I unlock Plana?
A: ||Finish the Final Episode to unlock Plana on your campaign screen. The game will randomly pick between Arona and Plana whenever you open the campaign menu from your lobby.||

#

Q: (Part 1 Final Episode Chapter 3 spoilers) ||How can I complete the Ark of Atrahasis Conquest event?||
A: ||You will need to use AP to conquer tiles and defeat the enemies that have the number 1 next to them until you reach the final boss of the area. You do not need to defeat the other enemies if you’re only interested in continuing the story. You also don’t need to conquer every tile, just enough tiles to get to the next enemy. Defeating each conquest enemy also grants you a small amount of pyroxenes.||

Q: What is the cafe used for?
A: The cafe is a place that you can decorate to your liking and have up to 5 random students visit twice every day. You can headpat the students once every 3 hours by tapping on them, or give them gifts, both of which can increase the relationship rank EXP with the student. You can also invite a student of your choice once every day. The cafe will also generate Item_AP AP and Item_CreditPoint credit points depending on your cafe rank and comfort level.

#

Q: How can I increase cafe comfort?
A: Cafe comfort can be increased by placing down more furniture in your cafe. Furniture will give cafe comfort points based on their rarity. The maximum cafe comfort is capped by your cafe’s rank.

#

Q: How can I increase the cafe rank?
A: You will need cafe upgrade materials to increase a cafe’s rank. You can earn one on the last stage of every 3rd normal mission area. The cafe rank also increases the number of students who will visit your cafe.

#

Q: How do I unlock the second cafe?
A: You can unlock the second cafe by clearing normal mission 12-5. Once unlocked, you will be able to upgrade the rank of the second cafe by clearing higher missions (or sweeping them once, if you’ve already cleared them). You’ll receive the upgrade material for the second cafe in your Tasks.

Q: What are cafe visits?
A: The cafe visit feature allows you to view other people's cafes. While you're able to see their furniture and students, you won't be able to interact with them. You can also view information about the player in the bottom right corner of the screen. There are two ways you can visit a cafe:

  • Planned Visit: You can visit the cafe of someone from your friends list or club.
  • Unannounced Visit: You can visit a random player's cafe.

#

Q: What is interactive furniture?
A: Interactive furniture refers to types of furniture that certain students can have a unique interaction with. A furniture with unique interaction will also increase the chances of that student visiting your cafe.

#

Q: What are lessons for?
A: Lessons are yet another way to farm materials and Elephs, as well as increase relationship points with students. You get up to 7 lesson tickets per day (depending on the amount of total areas you’ve unlocked), which you can use across any of the lesson areas. You can also buy lesson tickets using pyroxenes. Holding lessons will add more EXP in that lesson area, which will unlock more areas in it. Certain lesson areas can only be unlocked if you have a given number of students from a specific academy.

Q: What is the Crafting Chamber?
A: The Crafting Chamber allows you to use CraftItem_Keystone keystones and your existing materials to get new materials. This menu is divided into two sections:

  • Material Synthesis - which you can use to craft random materials;
  • Material Fusion - which you can use to turn your CraftItem_FusionStone_SSRCraftItem_FusionStone_SRCraftItem_FusionStone_RCraftItem_FusionStone_N fusion stones + your existing mats into raffle or choice tickets for specific materials.

#

Q: What should I craft in Material Synthesis?
A: If your cafe comfort isn’t maxed (in any of the cafes) and you don’t have enough furniture, then you should always pick the nodes that can craft furniture. Once you have enough furniture, you should prioritize gifts, as they can help you with relationship ranks. You do not have to craft all 3 nodes and you should only go past the first node if you’re sure you have several spare materials that you don’t mind giving up.

Q: What is Quick Craft?
A: Quick Craft is a feature in [Material Synthesis](#faq message) which allows you to set up a list of desired node types and the materials you want to use for each of them, then craft multiple times in one go. Use the Settings menu to simulate a crafting session and select which ingredients you would prefer to receive on each node, as well as which materials you want to use for them. Once set up, you can choose if you'd like to omit a node from Quick Craft and select the amount of times you want to craft.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Selecting a certain crafting node ingredient doesn't guarantee that you'll receive that desired node! If you're not lucky, the Quick Craft system will pick a random node among the available ones. Consult the Rate Info screen (accessible from the bottom left corner of the screen) for crafting probabilities.
If you want to be optimal about your crafting, it's better not to use this feature and instead craft manually, since you have full control over what you craft if you don't get your desired nodes.

Q: What can I craft in Material Fusion?
A: Material Fusion uses CraftItem_FusionStone_SSR fusion stones (which you can buy from the ShopItem_JFDCoin [JFD shop](#faq message)) as well as existing materials to craft Gift Choice Tickets, Blu-Ray Choice/Raffle Tickets, Tech Note Choice/Raffle Tickets, Artifact Choice/Raffle Tickets, as well as Item_STN Secret Tech Notes. Choice tickets are the things you’ll be crafting here the most, however do keep in mind that for every choice ticket, you’ll need to give up on two items of the same kind and rarity, as well as 3 fusion stones. Raffle tickets only require one such item and one fusion stone, but they’re not recommended to go for (unless you like gambling). Item_STN Secret Tech Notes do not use up fusion stones and can be crafted using Item_STN_Fragment Secret Tech Note Fragments (which you can earn through events and raids).
