We wanted to update you all on the status of Highrise LAND and our plans for it. We would like to thank you for staying with us during these turbulent times in the crypto market. We understand that you have experienced some frustration with the lack of updates, and we want to assure you that progress is being made โ however, some of our plans have been extended.
We still strongly believe in a future in which users can make private instances of Highrise and customize the game to their liking, host private events, monetize their audience, and much more. We want to make clear that these features will be available to everyone, but owning Highrise LAND will give you many exclusive benefits and perks.
Right now our primary focus is to port our game engine to Unity. This is a complex engineering milestone and it will take some time to reach a stable version. Therefore, it's unlikely that we will make progress towards private Highrise instances within the next 12 months. Nonetheless, LAND holders will get early access to Unity and our new 3D engine.
We also plan to eventually launch the $RISE token that will be used for a variety of different utilities in Highrise, however, the timeline for this is uncertain due to the state of the crypto markets.
We understand that our lack of updates have been disheartening, and we apologize for that. We are committed to working harder on communicating updates and being transparent about our progress.
In the mean time, while we work towards crossing these important milestones to start developing what we envision for LAND, we want to focus on adding immediate value to the product.
As of this moment, @nova girder will be taking over the Highrise LAND project and leading it along with the Creature Club ๐
He has some exciting plans for it that will roll out over the coming months:
โข Linking your Highrise Room to your LAND Plots: Highrise Rooms can be linked to plots on the LAND map. This will allows users to access and display deep-links to their room on the map and also give them access to an exclusive boosts on their roomโs max capacity.
โข LAND Tokens are a custom currency that is similar to Creature Coins. Holders will receive LAND Tokens for each standard LAND Plot they own on a daily basis, with a bonus in the case of premium plots. If they own an Estate, they will receive the tokens for each plot that make up the estate.
โข LAND Tokens can be used to purchase furniture from an exclusive shop for LAND owners. All furniture that has ever been released can be found in the shop (with the exception of furniture that has only been used in official rooms, that were sold for gold or were never publicly available). The furniture purchased in the LAND Shop will be account bound.
โข Boost Tokens and Voice Tokens will also be available in the LAND Shop.
โข Exclusive grabs for LAND owners will be periodically released. The grabs will contain exclusive furniture items, and even new rare and exclusive versions of the Slime Pets as rewards.
โข LAND owners will be able to add extra room capacity to the Rooms linked to their LAND plots. If the LAND plot is standard, the room capacity can be boosted up to 75 users. If the plot is Premium, the room capacity can be boosted up to 120 users.
โข LAND owners will receive surprise Airdrops with miscellaneous furniture items.
โข LAND owners will have access to the exclusive LAND channel in the official Highrise Discord server. They will have access to periodical giveaways and contests, with rewards of exclusive versions of furniture and even pets.

We strongly believe in a multi-Highrise vision and that crypto is the right technology to enable our economy. We're excited to announce a new feature for item design contests, Highrise Concepts, and we'd love for our talented community members to help us test drive this experimental feature!
โ ๏ธ Note that as a trial run, there might be some hiccups along the way. We're counting on you to report any issues or problems you encounter while using Highrise Concepts.
Highrise Concepts introduces a new vote scoring system (ELO rating) that eliminates the advantage of submitting early for more votes. This change allows us to run the submission period and voting stage simultaneously.
When voting, users will be presented with two entries at once, and will choose their favorite between the two. Just like our Style Challenge voting.
We need your help to test Highrise Concepts! We're running a trial Concept for the Creature Club:
Design a pair of wings that fit the Creature Club aesthetic (whatever that is ๐ ...) and follow these guidelines:
1๏ธโฃ Up to 3 items will be selected as winners.
2๏ธโฃ Participation is open to everyone, but only Creature Club members (and winners) will receive the items via airdrops.
3๏ธโฃ Submit only one item per design to ensure clarity during voting. You can still use a clothed avatar to model your item design and submit multiple images for each concept.

A game jam is a fun event where you create a game within a limited time. For this jam, you'll use Highrise Studio to design simple 2D rooms.
Itโs easy! Just drag and drop your art to build unique spaces. Submit your entry โ it can take less than 10 minutes. We'll provide step-by-step video tutorials to help you get started. If you're not technically savvy, you can team up with someone who is and focus on the art. Find collaborators in the #studio-chat channel.
Create your world using the "2D Platformer" template in HR Studio, then replace the art with your own creations. Thatโs all you need to do to submit your entry! You can also rearrange elements, add more layers, or make any modifications you like. The only rule is that it must be a 2D platformer world. Iโve always wished I could just draw Highrise rooms, exactly the way I imagine them, and bring them into the app. With Studio recently unlocking the capability of creating isometric rooms, itโs the perfect opportunity to dedicate a Game Jam to explore this: Isometric Dreams. Isometric view is a way of showing 3D objects on a 2D surface. Imagine looking at a cube from an angle where you can see three sides at once - that's isometric. It gives depth to 2D images, creating that classic Highrise look we all know.

With a Soulstone, your Boo-Bud doesnโt have to say goodbye. Bind them to this rare keepsake, and theyโll remain by your side, even when the season fades.
A Soulstone is a unique item that allows you to keep your Boo-Bud even after the Halloween season ends. Once bound to a Boo-Bud, that Boo-Bud will stay with you permanently. Equipping a Soulstone will also change your Boo-Budโs color, displaying it within the stone itself. The color varies depending on the type of Soulstone. You can acquire a Soulstone at the Ectomart using either Ectoplaz or gold.
Note: Your Boo-Bud only needs to be equipped with the Soulstone once to bind it. After that, the Boo-Bud will stay with you, even if you switch accessories.
Yes! You can keep as many Boo-Buds as you want, as long as each one has its own Soulstone bound to it. Youโll need one Soulstone per Boo-Bud you want to keep permanently.
Absolutely! Binding multiple Soulstones allows you to change your Boo-Budโs appearance with different colors and effects. Just equip a new Soulstone as you like. Only the glow and color of one of them can be active at a time.
Soulstones are available for purchase in the Ectomart collection.
No, both Soulstones and Boo-Buds are permanently account-bound and cannot be traded.
No, all you need to do is have a Soulstone bound to it.

โข For visitors, tap the mic button to speak! No more switching between โVoiceโ and โGeneral.โ
โข For owners, there are now larger buttons for Voice and Live. Turning on Voice now asks if you want it to be private or public.
Make sure you update the app! If youโre on an old version, you will receive an error popup when trying to connect to Voice. We know it can be a hassle, but we want to give you the best version of Voice possible.

Thatโs just one example. Weโve got a bunch of these small-but-powerful changes lined up to make your experience smoother and way more helpful.

After reviewing how listings are used, we noticed that very large volumes (over 200k!) of listings from a single user can cause complications when creating new listings or relistings.
So to keep the Marketplace fair and functional for everyone, weโre introducing a 5,000 total listing limit per user. (active + expired)
The good news: This change wonโt affect 99.9% of users. Youโll barely notice it at all! If you do hit the cap, you can delete expired listings to free up space for new ones.

With 500+ responses on Design Mode in our recent survey, itโs clear to us that Design Mode is a powerful that needs more flexibility and variety to reach its full potential. This Dev Diary shows the insights we gained and matching initiatives we are taking to improve Design Mode.

โจ Builders wished for more item variety. We are working towards more content, such as the recent release of 10 new colors and 400 blocks.

You can experience the new animations once they go live in the 4.22.10 update.
Weโve rebuilt the core avatar animations from the ground up to make movement smoother and more expressive. After the success of Snugglins, the rest of Highrise now moves with the same upgraded standard.
Hereโs whatโs new:

Now, thatโs changing. Hereโs whatโs new:
โจ Immediate Flagging โ You can now skip talking to support and instantly flag a stolen account.
โจ Rapid Response โ Our 24/7 PX team is alerted in real time and can freeze the account ASAP, stopping your account potentially being harmed.
โจ One Ticket Recovery โ Youโll get email updates on your case and can recover your account within the same report. No more juggling multiple tickets.
For fastest response time, we recommend reaching out with an alt or new account on the same device as your original account. We also suggest using the email tied to the stolen account.

Weโve been working on new features to make moderation clearer, faster, and more transparent. Two key updates went live last month:
๐ Report Confirmation Messages: If your report is validated and leads to action, youโll now receive an inbox message confirming it. No more wondering if your report was heard.
๐ Clear Feedback for Toxic Chat: When a player is muted or suspended for toxic chat behavior, theyโll now see the exact quote that led to the punishment. That way, players can get clarity on what they did wrong.
These are just the first steps in building more trust, fairness, and speed into Highrise moderation. ๐

We wanted to share an update about the recent maintenance issue, which caused some of you to lose stacked gifts and room voice tokens. We know how frustrating that was, and we're sorry this happened. ๐
Our team is already working on a way to refund all the voice tokens that were spent and return a fair amount of gifts to users who were active in the Boo Bash world or owned rooms when the downtime occurred. We want to make sure everyone affected is taken care of.
Once we have a working solution in place, we'll post another update here to let you all know exactly how refunds and gift returns will work. Please stay tuned. ๐ฌ
We also heard your feedback loud and clear about the lack of updates during the maintenance. You're absolutely right; we can do better. We're already improving how we communicate during downtime, so you'll get clearer and more transparent on-time updates in the future.

๐ค WHO IS CHARLIE?
โ How did you start working at Highrise, and whatโs your background?
Iโve worked in different areas related to community and platform safety, from QA and Advisor roles to Risk & Compliance. Before joining Highrise, I had already worked as a content moderator for two other companies.
On a personal note, I actually started as a Highrise player back during the pandemic. When the opportunity to join the company came up, it felt like everything aligned. I knew I had to be part of it. Becoming a moderator here was a real accomplishment for me, and itโs been an amazing journey ever since.
โ What do you like to do for fun outside of Highrise?
I love socializing and being around kind, genuine people. That really energizes me. When Iโm not surrounded by friends, I spend time with my pets, who are basically my assorted little family (I have 17 of them!).
I also love creating. Writing, composing, and making music have always been a big part of my life. Since I studied music production, itโs something that keeps me inspired and connected no matter what Iโm doing.

**HOW FAST ARE REPORTS HANDLED? **
Hey Highrise fam ๐
Early this year, we were happy to announce that we had managed to reduce report analysis time to a 72 hour maximum turnaround. Today, weโve reduced the average turnaround time even more: 95% of reports are reviewed in under 36 hours... And weโre not stopping there. Our goal is to bring that down to 24 hours or less soon. โก
For reports that might involve real-life harm or safety risks, like minors at risk, we move even faster.
Hereโs a quick look at how the process works ๐
๐ช Step 1: Getting to the right reports faster
Over the past year our moderation team reviewed tens of thousands of reports and noticed some clear patterns. Many were duplicates, empty, or simply not pointing to real harm. So we built better triage systems that help our moderators move faster and spend more time where it matters most, investigating real harm and acting quickly to protect our players.
๐ฉโ๐ป Step 2: Careful review and context
Each report that leads to a warning or ban is reviewed by one of our expert moderators. They look at the report, the playerโs account, and the situation around it to make sure every action we take is fair, well-informed and properly documented.
๐ Step 3: Extra checks for permanent bans
Permanent bans go through an additional layer of review. A moderator escalates it and a team lead must agree before any action happens.
๐ Step 4: Quality assurance
Finally, our QA lead reviews a sample of past moderation actions to make sure everything is consistent, fair, and aligned with our standards.
We know moderation isnโt perfect. Even now we still make mistakes, but every day weโre improving how we respond, how fast we act, and how clearly we communicate. Your reports genuinely help us keep Highrise a safer, kinder space for everyone.

The other week, we went into some scheduled downtime for maintenance. This led to many players losing Boo Bash gifts and missing out on the effects of Voice and Boost tokens. We understand this has been frustrating, and appreciate your patience as we've worked to resolve it.
Refunds will be issued to anyone affected by the server downtime, based on our records.
Here are the details:

๐ป** How did we decide the refund quantity for Boo Bash gifts?**
Boo Bash Gifts are actually designed to expire a few minutes after leaving the world or going offline. If you've been stacking gifts and waiting for the perfect time to use them... This was never supposed to be possible! ๐ฅน
Because of this, we do NOT have systems built to track accurate records of stacked, unclaimed Boo Bash Gifts.
In the interest of fairness, everyone will receive the same refund. We get that this means that some players will receive more or less than expected; but we hope that this will be a workable, technically feasible, solution.

โฐ When will I be able to claim my Gift refund?

1. Do my reports actually go through?
Yes, they do! We review every single report that gets submitted. That doesnโt mean every report leads to a ban. It depends on what the report is about and how severe it is. If the behavior clearly breaks our Community Guidelines, we look at both severity and player history. For low, medium, or high severity, players usually get a warning first and can be banned if they repeat it. If the behavior is extreme, or if the player already has prior offenses, theyโre banned immediately.
2. What happens after I send a report?
Our moderation team follows a layered process. First, we filter out empty or false reports. Then, a trained moderator identifies which guideline was broken and logs the case. If itโs a severe issue or the player has a bad record, a team lead reviews it and decides on stronger action. Whenever something happens, whether itโs a warning, tagging, or a ban, the reporter gets a feedback message, and the reported player receives a notice about their infraction.

A new Parent option in the furniture toolbar lets you choose a parent object to group items together. You can even create nested groups.
A new hierarchy view shows every furniture object in the room, making it easy to find, select, and manage individual items or whole groups.
A multi-select toggle gives you another quick way to select multiple pieces or groups at once.
Undo/redo now tracks movements for full selections or groups, making adjustments smoother.

After you submit a report, you might find yourself thinking, โIf they didnโt get banned, nothing happened.โ
But thatโs not how our system works. Every confirmed violation leads to action, even if you donโt see the result immediately. In most cases, players receive warnings before they ever reach the point of being banned. Currently, we only use warnings and bans.
When someone breaks the rules, we look at what they did, how serious it was, and whether itโs something theyโve done before. Behind the scenes, we use Points๐ and Strikesโผ๏ธ to track violations and apply the appropriate outcome.
The Points system works like a playerโs account lifebar: every infraction reduces it, and hitting zero usually results in a permanent ban.
This system tracks behavior over time and assigns different weights to offenses. There are four severity levels: low, medium, high, and EXTREME.
Low, medium, and high offenses generate warnings and remove different amounts of points from the playerโs lifebar. EXTREME offenses lead to a direct permanent ban.
Because no one is expected to be perfect, points expire over time.
The Strike system monitors repeated offenses within the same category. Each category has its own Strike counter. When a player repeats the same type of misconduct, their Strike count in that category increases. Accumulating enough Strikes in a single category can result in a final ban, even if their overall points havenโt reached the threshold.
Bottom line? Stuff does happen behind the scenes. Points and Strikes make sure punishments are fair, consistent. Stay safe, fam! ๐

Common Phishing Tricks (and How to Outsmart Them!) ๐โก

Scammers are getting smarter, and they love pretending to be staff to trick players into giving up their account info. Youโll see fake freebies, fake emergencies, or DMs from someone claiming they need your details to โhelpโ you.
Hereโs the golden rule that keeps your account safe:
Highrise staff will NEVER ask for your login, password, verification codes, or for you to change your email anywhere except inside our official support channels.
If someone asks for that info in-game, on Discord, or through email โ itโs not us. Itโs a phishing attempt.
Here are the scams we see the most, so you can spot them instantly:
โI reported you by mistake! Message this staff to fix it.โ
The โstaffโ is a phisher trying to take your account.
โFree gold codes! Just change your email/password to redeem.โ
Once you change your info, the scammer locks you out.
Suspicious promo links that look legit but arenโt.
Fake sites designed to collect your login details.
If it sounds too good to be true, it definitely is.
Only trust messages from:
Anything else โ especially Gmail/Outlook addresses or emails with โofficialโ in them โ is fake. Phishers love to say they are OFFICIAL and write it in their nicks/email/msgs , but actual highrise staff don't need that aura farming. We are glamurous ;)

Mods donโt see every room or DM โ they only investigate when someone reports.
No report โ no reason to look.
Moderation isnโt a drive-thru. ๐โก
Most cases are reviewed within 36 hours, not instantly.
If someone doesnโt disappear on the spot, it just means a real human is checking context.
Nope. A report just means โplease check this,โ not โpunish now.โ
Mods review what actually happened โ context, chats, history โ and only act if thereโs a real violation.
If nothing breaks the rules, no action happens.
If auto-bans were real, the Plaza would be a ghost town every time people argued. ๐
It might look random from the outside, but the system is structured:

Actions depend on what happened, how harmful it was, and whether itโs a pattern โ
and permanent bans always get double-reviewed.

We're putting HR Ideas on hold.
As many of you already know, funded items have been taking way too long to reach you, and the backlog has gotten so large that we can't fix it while new submissions keep coming in. Some of you have been waiting months, and that's not okay. We want to clear every funded idea currently in the queue, and do it properly.
At the same time, we're using this pause to make meaningful changes to how HR Ideas works overall. We'll share the full details when we reopen, but we want to be upfront: not every change will be universally loved. Some things (potentially including pricing, guidelines, and the release process) will work differently than they do today. We think the end result will be a healthier, more sustainable program โ but we'd rather tell you that honestly now than sell you on a vague promise that it'll just be "better."
A few things to know right now:
โข Ideas currently pending approval will be rejected. When HR Ideas reopens, you're welcome to resubmit them.
โข Ideas that have already been approved will stay up and can still be funded. Any new guideline changes won't apply to them retroactively.
โข All funded items in the queue will be honored.

Time to talk about what's coming when HR Ideas reopens! Heads up: many of you are going to really hate parts of this ๐ But we need to be upfront.
Right now, funded ideas are taking over FIVE MONTHS to reach creators. The program is completely broken. If we don't make real changes, HR Ideas won't survive. So we're changing lots of things.
Our priority are the item creators
We want creators to actually profit from their items and we want them to keep submitting Ideas. Everything below ladders up to that.
๐ No submission limits. Creators will be able to submit as many Ideas as they want.
โ๏ธ Submissions will have to look much closer to the final item. We're going to be a lot more careful about what we approve. Your Idea needs to clearly show what the player will actually get. Low quality, half-finished, or vague submissions will be rejected.
๐ซ We'll be pickier about what we approve. A pattern we want to break: when an idea gets funded, we often see a wave of similar submissions trying to ride that momentum for quick revenue. That, plus ideas that closely resemble existing items or are clearly just jumping on a trend, won't make it through anymore. We want HR Ideas to reward original thinking.
๐ค Creators will have to literally promise their idea isn't AI-generated and isn't copied from someone else's item. Break that promise, get banned from HR Ideas.
๐ More flexibility on revision rounds. Once an Idea is approved, our artists will be asked to listen very carefully to the creator's feedback and follow their direction as much as is fairly possible. The goal is to release something that genuinely matches what the creator had in mind.
๐ฐ Pricing will be adjusted. Funding price will be based on item type, not rarity. All Ideas will be Legendary moving forward. Hairstyles will cost a bit more to fund than other types. (They take roughly 8x longer to make! And right now they dominate the queue. We need to encourage more variety in submissions.) Post-funding prices will also come down from where they are today.
๐ Monday store releases. Every Monday, that week's finished Ideas items go on sale in the Highrise store for 7 days. Creators and backers get their copies on launch day. Items aren't tradable during the 7-day sale window. Once it ends, they trade as normal. Creators get a revenue share from the store sales too.
On the trade lock: I know resellers who buy Ideas items to flip them are going to be unhappy about this. I get it. But that behaviour drives down item value and tanks the launch. The creator (and the program) can't be built around it. We're prioritising the creators, and the players who actually want to wear these items.
The first Monday store drop is next Monday. All items finished this week will be in it. Creators will get their share from those sales.
We know not everyone will love every piece of this. Some of you will be genuinely angry. That's fair, and we'll be listening closely once these changes are live. We'll adjust as we go based on what we see.

Hey everyone, quick update from engineering.
For the last 6 months we've been letting users opt in to our new 3D room stack to test it. Now we're rolling it out to everyone.
The old system wasn't flexible enough for us to keep building on, so we rebuilt the foundation. This unlocks a lot of features we couldn't ship before, with more coming after.

Current status
Migration is paused right now while we work through reported issues (maze room setups, tipjar indicators behind walls, a few others). Once those are cleaned up we'll resume the rollout in stages: 5% first, then ramping to 100% as we confirm things are stable.

We want to be upfront about a recent change to how event participation track items recycle, and why we made it.
We discovered a coordinated operation using bots to farm tradable rewards from event participation tracks and funnel them to central accounts, which were then recycled for Threads at scale. In some cases this involved thousands of bots tied to a single user. It was actively distorting the economy for everyone else.
We worked through the fix with a small group of community members, and together we landed on the following: participation track items (free, paid, and crew tiers) now recycle into Bubbles instead of Threads. This applies to the current event and the past few, including items already in your inventory. Leaderboard reward items are unchanged.
We heard from a lot of you that this hits legit free players who relied on recycling as a progression path. That feedback is fair, and we've landed on a follow-up change shipping in an upcoming patch: when you claim a participation track reward, you'll have the option to recycle it for Threads right then. If you take that option, the item is consumed for Threads. If you don't, you keep the item as normal, tradeable and recyclable for Bubbles. The choice happens at claim and is locked in.
This preserves the Thread route for players who want it, while removing the farm-trade-recycle pipeline that made the exploit possible at scale.

This is where weโll be updating you about our upcoming NFT project on Highrise. So what is the Highrise Creature Club?
The Highrise Creature Club (HCC) is our first NFT collection of Highrise avatars in the style of Creatures - think eCreatures, goblins, goth babies, and more! Each creature will come with a set of items that can be worn inside the Highrise world. The avatars are programmatically generated from traits that have been designed by the Highrise team, and curated to look appropriately creature-like. Weโll release 11,111 Creatures: 10,000 are reserved for public sale, 1,000 are reserved for the existing Highrise community, and 111 will be owned by Highrise for giveaways and other internal purposes.
This first NFT collection will come with several perks:
Weโre also aware that minting directly on Ethereum uses significant energy. Thatโs why weโll be using the Immutable X Layer 2 blockchain for our items, ensuring that minting is cheap and energy efficient. Immutable X just raised $82M while hosting the most oversubscribed ICO in CoinList history, so we are excited to be one of their first partners.
Once you have your NFT, youโll be able to do whatever you like with it. You can move it to Ethereum directly or trade it on the Immutable marketplace. We believe that Highrise citizens should have complete ownership over their items, and blockchain is the path to do this.

SuperFarm is continuing to work with AWS to scale up their site to support opening the WL, which should happen soon.
SuperFarm is removing addresses that made a purchase from the WL so they can't purchase again once WL opens.

We are working on processing refunds for overdrawn purchases.

An update on Phase 3 of the land sale!
We will be selling LAND for Ethereum and a new currency called "Land Deeds".
Regular LAND will cost 3 deeds and Premium LAND will cost 9 deeds.
Each deed will cost $69.99.
CREATURES: We will airdrop 1 deed per regular creature and 3 deeds per Legendary creature to accounts that hold Creatures. Make sure to connect your Immutable account to your Highrise account on https://highrise.game.

During this phase LAND is purchased using Land Deeds. All Creature owners and LAND owners from the previous phases will be receiving FREE Land Deeds a few minutes before the sale starts. To get these Land Deeds you need to have your wallet connected to your Highrise account.
If you know someone who has a Creature, tell them to connect it to their Highrise account to receive their FREE Land Deeds!

Greetings to all LAND owners! 
You are now able to withdraw your LAND and mint it into a NFT on L1 which can be easily traded, sold and transferred on OpenSea or moved elsewhere!
โ Do I have to withdraw my LAND to use it?
You don't have to withdraw your LAND in order to use it! You'll have access to the features that will come with your LAND regardless! Withdrawing and minting your LAND onto L1 is only required if you'd wish to trade, sell or transfer it!
โ Does this cost money?
Withdrawing a parcel of land does come with a gas fee which requires a small amount of Ethereum in order to complete the process.
โ Is there a time limit?
There is no time limit! You can go through this process whenever you'd like!
This gives you the opportunity to wait for the perfect time with the lowest gas fees!
โ How do I get Ethereum?
You can find out how to purchase Ethereum in #929131387070586941 , keep in mind that you will need your Ethereum inside your MetaMask wallet in order to be able to withdraw your LAND!
โ Where do I find the withdraw option?
Head to https://highrise.game/land and make sure you're logged into the Highrise account that owns your LAND. Click on your parcel, click on the โขโขโข button and click on Withdraw LAND.
If you're unable to locate your LAND you can press the arrow in the top left to open up the Filters menu, select "Owned By Me" and it'll highlight your LAND!
