Looking for input on this build I'm starting to put together. This will be my first real foray into EPG.
For goal I'd say generally able to crush in Elites and also for me to understand what trade-offs I should make for ISE parsing vs RETFOs. The starting point here is influenced heavily by some builds I've seen around here but I don't have a lot of the top traits so I've taken my best first swing at adjusting for what I have!

I don't have the bio torp/mine made yet and I own the shown space traits but haven't unlocked them all. Don't have the EC cost consoles yet but have the listed CStore ones.
The traits are my attempt at finding the best ones I own already that work here, since the builds I was looking at have mostly lockbox ones I don't have yet

i'd skip the EBM torp tbh
it's a beast under HY, but for TS, Neutronic is much stronger
speaking of torps, when using ETM, it's wise to not run an epm trigger alongside TS, that can cause lockout. rather run two triggers. like,

if you don't rly want to use mines, you could also use the aft slots for set bonuses. gravimetric 2p is a pretty nice passive

Sounds good. I've never used a mine so maybe I'll start there and change if I hate it.

black ops mine is pretty good (available in the phoenix store). and the thoron quantum ones you can get from delta rep boxes
and iirc the cookie mines you get as a mission reward are also nothing to scoff at

If going the ETM-route with , Pahvan omni can get full FAW uptime and be a good damage source.

Phoenix is super doable I'll pick it up.
Is there a way to keep ETM and still leverage mines without dropping any uncon or am I in "choose a tradeoff" territory? I can't think of another good trait to slot there 😔

i mean, you don't necessarily have to use a mine pattern to use mines. their vanilla mode is also decent enough.
and with type 7 pets, you could also use instead of on the tac

Current status update - super fun little ship, a definite joy to fly. Still need to actually pick up very cold in space and a few of the duty officers. Also just realized I have PCM and Strike From the Shadows which are a bit at odds with each other, so probably should replace the latter. And no APB so should drop Narul also.
Even so, build does good work and I've been meaning to both make a Nebula and try EPG forever so two birds with one ship!

SFSs really isn't that good for epg, you have crit chanced covered with Particle Manipulator. in case you have the leg-BC bundle, Thirst and Ship of the Line are always good traits to use.

Machinations acts against its tooltip, you get the exotic buff from controls
try it out: look at some exotic damage tooltip, hit a control (tb repulsors and pohot shockwave are available on noncombat maps), and look at the damage again

Sia is doing more than that, but your parser likely lists it as part each anomal. If you're using cla you can create a group reversing rule to see all of sia in one line

SIA can still produce ridiculous DPS if handled properly, but when using a variety of universal consoles, the other toys will look conspicuous.

if you use CLA, try adding this rule in your settings. second pic shows how the dmg is split up
i believe it's bc an anomaly is considered as separate entity (they even show up as pets in some old parsers) hence the sia damage is logged as the anomaly's damage

not sure what CLA is but i took two parses, one with SIA and one without, that were otherwise similar and dug through them a bit in oscr

and when i drill into that i see some references to SIA, its kinda weird but starting to make some sense
looking through the log itself... looks like ill have to learn a bit more about the anatomy of the log to dig further but i should be winding down not up so ill go to bed and hunt that down later 😂
suffice it to say i now see the hidden power of SIA though

CLA means Combatlog Analyzer, that's a parser see #combatlog-analyzer . Your screenshot looks like you're using OSCR as your parser. If you find the results on oscr hard to read, i strongly suggest giving cla a try: the custom grouping really helps and it has significantly better graph visualization. Oscr's strength lies in very fine grained analysis but imho it lacks in readability.

any thoughts on what i can do to eek a little more out of this, short of promo ship traits? thinking about swapping the DPB for APB since my mines dont seem to contribute a ton. also curious about any consoles or personal space traits i may have overlooked?

Ap beta is always nice to have (while type 7s do provied excellent debuff, their own apb has relatively low uptime so your copy will be significant whenever theirs is on cd).
Lowering the focus on mines may be worth a shot - not only replacing dpb but also resonating payload mod. Fragment of AI Tech would ba a good replacement there.
It may even be worth a shot to replace the mines themselves (with a setbonus like the gravimetric 2p or even better the delphic 2p)
In terms of consoles and ship traits, it kinda depends on what you have available. Protonic Snare would be a good event ship one.
Genesis Seed and Proton Eruptor in terms of cstore. Your weakest links currently are AES, Garrett, Delphic, and possibly DPRM (depending on whether you need the panic heal). Remember that your overall cat2 saturation on an epg build tends to be higher than for other build types.
