ETP shouldn't trigger Cutting Tractor Beam, since it's not an ability you activate. (In theory. I don't have that console)
I assume Eclectic is a similar case, tho its tooltip does sound like it should trigger off any uniconsole damage, clickie or not - does it trigger from any other nonclickie uniconsoles?

I won't pretend to be an expert here, but both seem to activate off consoles that don't actually do damage at all. ETP, at least to me based on my understanding of the term, is a uni console that you activate.

Eclectic quite literally says "use" doesn't even say hit or target or anything. In theory, though I haven't tried it, consoles like FPNA and DPRM should trigger it.

CTB, I'm a little fuzzier on.

Per the tooltip; "Activating a uni console adds....." So unless I'm even dumber than my wife thinks I am, ETP should trigger both.

Granted, I know that tooltips aren't always Bible gospel truth chiseled in stone with lightning from on high, this could be the result of either poorly written descriptions, or me misunderstanding, but I honestly don't think it is.

Yes. Similar in function to Ionic, FPNA or DPRM in that you click it and it does something to you.

Not in outcome ofc, they do very different things, but in function.

then at least CTB should be intended to get a stack from it - as long as it's a uniconsole clickie, it should work. CTB even works with damage-less clickies like aes

You have to do damage. I was wrong about that. Well...... maybe not. ETP essentially functions as a second SecDef. It does have a damage component.

Assuming I'm not mentally deficient, it appears so. Eclectic would potentially depend on if it is considered direct or not. Could go either way, but I'm leaning towards not.

Gods above and below, tooltips are terribad (looking at you agony phaser weapons)

I'll have to test eclectic when I get back on later tonight. If it works with other consoles that either don't do damage or don't do it directly, then ETP is bugged for both. If it doesn't, then it's at least WAI for eclectic.

Going to be a struggle to find one on my toon that has eclectic though lmao. She's pure sci EPG

Eclectic is worded super weird. It suggests doing damage, but doesn't say you actually have to hit anything or deal damage.

The stacks still don't show in the buffs area. I have no way, aside from math that I'm not good at, to know if I'm actually getting more than one stack.

Sorry I phrased that like a STO tooltip. I meant everything listed on the trait that procs it is direct damage always, aside from consoles.
