it is possible to make field sizes beyond the maximum and also in custom dimensions
for such endeavours it is required that you modify the field file
apparently there are ~1590 panels
1589 panels
in hindsight i might make a desert bus 2 such that effect tiles are spaced 7 tiles apart so its probabilistically impossible (for most characters) to roll an effect twice
hmm, illegal fields like this will not be able to be loaded in the future probably
it is, incredibly funny
shouldn't you be playing as Mimyuu Jailbird
HAHAHAHA
that way if you die you get thrown back to the start
i dont have mimyuu jailbird
desert bus 7 panels apart edition so its even more painful, also its exactly 1601 panels long
@scarlet scroll out of curiousity does type and weather do anything at the moment in field files i assume its a standin for selecting stage backgrounds but i tried chucking in random characters in FIELD_TYPE_ and i havent gotten lucky yet and i dont feel like decompiling orange juice
for reference i was thinking about changing the stage background to the lonely railroad / highway fields
weather does not
type i believe decide which boss but that's not implemented in a user friendly way
fair enough
the default value of FIELD_TYPE_QP lead me to believe that it was background related but it seems i am wrong
will there be support in the future for custom level assets like backgrounds / steam workshop support
it would make sense if there wasnt tbh because you would have to implement file sharing when modding has strictly been client side only
and thats presuming workshop support is planned, which i hope it ist
i won desert bus
i basically warped from the very start to about the ~75% towards the end
yes, there will be
the way level syncing will work online will more than likely be tied to the steam workshop
it's still not 100% certain on what direction it will take but the base idea is:
host: sends workshop ID to clients
clients: download the mod
clients: when downloaded, can ready up
host: can start the game
when the field isn't on the workshop, i don't think there's a sane way to sync it to other players unless it's extremely basic to the point it fits within a netpacket
i guess thats true, im not really familiar with steam api but games of different (non source) engines like barotrauma and gates of hell are able to sync workshop items
unrelated but i think it would be cool if you were able to put 'path blockers' on tiles
basically a flag that either forcibly, or prompts characters to stop there
Super Mud
enabling for guaranteed panel effects which is currently only possible for warp if its a terminating path
or super mud, yeah
anyway my sleep is overdue
day 1 of orange juice level editor is awesome
im sure the orange juice community can look forward to a 1/50 chance of playing desert bus in my lobbies
this would make for a histerical Co-op boss map
unfortunate end to my completion attempt
does the deck get in the way of the road?
if so i can patch this
yep
sorry for the wait, the map has been patched with a deck spawner at the very end
thanks jolly for your work
Imma stream this, I'm recording myself completing this in one sitting.
lol
yes
hold on
@sage harbor
how long did the marcs missile take to travel
uh
16x big rocket
The two times I used it, I'd say 30sec
Not too crazily long but def funny
