I have not played this game in forever, but saw it had MacOS compatibility when setting up my new computer and decided I should get back into it. The logo screens appear properly, but my game crashes before reaching the main menu. I looked at the support thread on Steam and this is probably due to a corrupted save -- I previously played on Windows and am now on Mac. I tried following the instructions, but didn't see the indicated files...am I out of luck because of how long since I last played? And if so, how do I delete the corrupted saves so the game can at least load?
#Old Windows user switching to Mac, can't load game

for reference, here's every file in the Steam installation and the Application Library/FBF/100OrangeJuice folders. the 0 seems to be created when the crash/bad load happens, and there's no backup folder at all. the Sep 17 2021 date in the user.dat is the last time I played the game, and that was on a Windows partition I deleted on an old MacBook I don't own anymore
ok so at some point oj moved to a new save file system, and windows oj was able to automatically convert user.dat into the new save system
and i don't think mac is able to do it....? last i checked it didn't work anyway
ah that would explain it
so try putting user.dat inside Application Support/FBF/100OrangeJuice
and if it doesn't work, um the way i found that works is that if you like send the save someone with windows can convert it and send it back
um delete the numbers folder inside save
alright, I'll try that
same crash unfortunately
this is what my FBF/100OrangeJuice folder looks like now
wait didn't realize the numbers folder got re-added
this is the full thing
ok send the user.dat here and i can go open the file on windows and send you back the files
or i guess in dms idk
yeah i went and tested it myself on mac and it looks like atm trying to start the game with user.dat just crashed the game
also i made a mistake because the save files are now stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/100 Orange Juice
okay @summer harness so the zip i sent you, take the contents of it and put it inside this numbers folder you have highlighted here
it worked! thanks for the help
