#Best way to play the card game

I bought MindBug last year and I instantly loved it.
This year I bought the First contact expansion. I really like most of the cards, but I feel like two copies of each card it’s maybe too much. I feel like most of the cards on the expansion are really strong!
Would it be a good option to just add 1 copy of each new card to the deck?
My other doubt is about the Promo 2022 pack, I got it last weekend. I really love the cards, except for “Chuck”. I don’t like the RNG of rolling a dice… It doesn’t feel good to the game imo. Should I remove the card from the deck when I play?
And my last question and probably the most important:
Is it worth to really take the game seriously?
I mostly play casual with friends. I would love to really learn how to play in the best and most efficient way, but I’m kinda worried that it’s gonna be boring to play with my casual friends or with people new to the game because I might have a huge advantage

To start, just for clarity, First Contact is the main game and the first set to come out, not an expansion. Are you referring to the New Servants expansion (the one with Goreagle Alpha?). If you are referring to New Servants, then it's totally reasonable to only add one copy of the card o whatever deck you are playing with. It's my preferred way to play, actually!

For any promo cards, they are intentionally a little wackier than normal cards. Play with whatever promo cards you want and leave the rest out. There is no Mindbug police that will enforce how to play! Play however you want!

As for taking the game seriously, I think you can kind of have it both ways. Maybe play seriously and try to get better while playing on the app (Mindbug Online). When playing with friends or new players, don't take a long time on your turn to figure out the optimal move. Maybe play a little quicker and looser, try some more unique strategies and focus on having fun. I have waaaay more experience than my friends in Mindbug, and they are still able to beat me and stay competitive!

There is no wrong way to play. Each set comes with some kind of theme, but you can mix and match however you like.

New Servant is the only direct expansion that was designed to be played with the First Contact, but nothing is stopping you from using whatever cards you want.

Alternatively, #1235344181204090941 also features a few card pools that are designed to be balanced. Most of them will include cards from later expansions you may not own. Typically, they will only use one or two sets though,so they do not dilute the mechanics too much.
