You cannot activate an action if the condition is not fulfilled right?

actions of evolutions are OK

#

assassin's not

sullen tartan
#

@elder compass you can't activate an ability if it doesn't do anything

rapid goblet
#

I think I just explore all the possibility and I don't see anything that works...

I start to believe OP had an oversight.. but I must be missing smth..

||playing earwing assassin and kill the monkey lead to a fight against the sawn and we finally loose. killing one of his creature or the dragon inn allowed him to play westside monster wich kills us easly with is frenzy ability. same thing if we play assassin without activating its effect or if we play shinobi. if we attack with the dragon it lead to the same problem. so the only solution from this point is to hunt someone with the monkey but if we hunt the sawn he can just attack with his sharkypus wich we have to block and then we can't do anything against the westside monster. the only other possible issue we have is to hunt the sharkypus wich force him to attack with the sawn and them we can both play a card that kills us because of the westside monster and attack with the dragon inn. he have there to block and then to play is turbo bug wich force us to play one of our sneaky and then he can finish us with the westside monster...||

I don't know if I missed a possible play somewhere or if you did a mistake but if I'm wrong I would appreciate an hint...

I doon't see anything else... I did all the possible play I can see again and I found exactly the same results... if anyone found a solution I'm really intrested to see what did I miss...

Oh my God

#

I realized

#

||attack, kill his hunter, then he has to attack with his sawn, we block and kill our own assassin. He either attacks or plays a minion, it's gg anyways||

Westside is the big problem. If it gets played without the assassin to counter, Frenzy does us in. The Dragon Inn is our counter - they can’t play Westside while it’s alive. I think the answer is going to involve us getting a sneaky on the board as our 2nd card (with the inn) against their 2 cards, forcing them to play Westside as card 3.

||1.attack sharky with hunter.
2. Sawn attacks. Block with dragon inn.
3.Play earwig assassin, discard to defeat earwig assassin.
If sawn attacks again, we block with dragon inn, then we can attack (no defending creature).
If opp plays anything, we can use dragon inn action.||

@sullen tartan How do you go about creating these puzzles? Do you start with an interesting interaction that you want the 'solve' to be (e.g., ||have earwig defeat itself||) and work backwards from there? Or do you do something else? Very curious!

@glad heron

#

||yes, in this case I started with sawn vs dragon inn because i noticed the interesting 'zugzwang' situation in a game, then I tried to think of a creative way to skip your turn, then I added the other cards to add 1 more step||
