OMFG I can't believe no one told me that motion style isn't just about speed. Perhaps, motion style is even more important for defense than attribute points lol I just found my dribble style + motion style that actually enhance my player's attributes and make me hit my shot compared to the same build where I only change the motion style to something less complementary to my attributes and dribble style, I miss so much because the motion from dribbling to shooting doesn't work smoothly. It's as if some motion styles are meant to be off-ball and doesn't have a great transition from dribbling to shooting, while others are great at on-ball but lack in some other areas.

I strongly disagree. That speed for 6'9" is freaking enjoyable as hell. +1 to have a gold lighting launch and that's a freaking dunking machine. first 4 cap breakers to make driving dunk at 93 for gold posterizer and 1 spare cap breaker to spend elsewhere.

That's plenty defense for my height. Not a top notch by all means but it's fine. 7'4" wingspan with 85 perim and 74 interior with 74 block and the speed is more than enough. Paierd with the right animations and motion style it's a tough defender in the right hands. 3 ball is for spotting up and that's definitely enough. The slight reduction in strength is the tradeoff I purposefully decided to make since all my other builds have mininum 85 and I wanted something refreshing, something that relies more on finesse and shiftiness than on pure power. And guess what? It's a lot more fun to me. We're in the fun business my dude.

so playnow online i've been winning pretty consistently running floppy with a shooter and spamming

this only works vs. people with like 50% win rate on PC which translates to around 70% on console

it is interesting with the high-risk shot profiles...it's like if you're wide open you have all the control on whether the shot goes in, but contested it's pretty much always a brick

especially when you have to keep jumping between different shot timings when you play with different teams

but high risk profile pretty much eliminates the ability to run any sort of zone. in old 2k people could sit in a zone and rely on rng/momentum to mess you up

now if you leave someone open in corner in PNO forget it -- that's cash

i think you have to offball now to play any sort of defense which i know can be a pride topic, but unless you have all the defense AI settings perfect you can't afford to leave a shooter open, and it's so easy to make passes into the paint against cpu you can't just sit back and get dotted up

Playing through MyCareer (especially using the methods people have posted on Youtube) is a pretty solid way to get VC. Playing through just Key Games for 7 seasons gets you somewhere over 200K

Rep is the level of your player in an AFFILIATION. So Rise and Elite have levels that earn you specific rewards for grinding towards it.

Mascot rewards are a season level - every season there are 40 levels - sort of like a battle pass on fortnite that you can play anywhere and earn the XP for it.

Prayer list for S2 patch: Remove/reduce boost from rhythm shooting, fix the delay with rhythm shooting, remove the moving green window, buff shot contests on the perimeter and in the paint since they’re nonexistent, nerf layups and close shots since they go in way too easily, lane steals need to nerfed/passing needs to be buffed, on ball steals actually need a slight buff so defenders can actually pick up loose balls, buff defensive rebounding, protect rebounders from getting steal spammed, SBMM needs to stay but can be slightly expanded so people can find consistent games… I’ve accepted that the dribbling and quick stops are trash & that’s just how it’s gonna be but that could use major improvement too

Reduce the boost*. It was a dumb idea to begin with but with all the problems with it (stick delays, stick drift, Xbox remapping buttons, Titan/zen scripts already available for rhythm shooting) the 70% (allegedly) boost to the green window over the shooting button is way too large

the 70% boost, if it is actually that high in real situations, is to encourage players to use it, and to reward players for using a harder mechanic. Rhythm shooting requires timing 2 things instead of one, which is the initial reasoning for the boost, but then you've gotta consider that people are SO used to shooting with X/Square that convincing them to use a new mechanic would take a good reason, hence the boost

and it's not such a large boost that it's impossible to miss or anything, again especially when you consider that you need to time a second, new things that you never had to before. Personally 95% of my missed rhythm shooting shots are from incorrect tempo

Also titan/zen scripts are a separate problem that they're having to deal with, that's an issue regardless. There could be a 0% boost with rhythm shooting and zens will still green

Yeah, I mean clearly they didn't outright state the numbers on how much better it is, but is "Significantly better" not a good enough indication for you? What phrasing would you have preferred they use? I do appreciate guys like 2K labs and 2KTutes for doing the research into the game to determine what is worth it and how much better some things are, but almost no company is going to come out and say "this is X% better than doing that other thing", that's just not how anything works. Hell, for some people, half the fun of playing certain games is to be able to do that kind of research and labbing on their own. If 2K came out and gave us all those specific numbers and such that 2K labs gives us, it would give people no need for 2K labs, and would put him out of a job. Point is, they're never going to do that. They can (and did say) that it's significantly better, and worth learning if you want to compete at any higher levels in the game.

The biggest thing that I don't understand about people complaining about rhythm shooting is how they're saying "X button shooting is useless/not worth it". I've seen plenty of people who choose not to use rhythm shooting, and still shoot some 50%+. It's not like X button shooting is so unusable that you can't bother with it anymore, it's just that you need to pay more attention to your character instead of trying to use muscle memory to shoot

I think I’ve made it pretty clear that saying “significant advantage” is not good enough for me because that’s highly subjective lol. Is it 10%? 20%? 50%? 70%? 100%? Meter boost is 20%, I can assure you literally no one expected the rhythm boost to be 70% before 2k labs did the test. I’m one of those people by the way - I’m shooting 50% from 3 in 5s and 60% from 3 in 3s, I don’t need to rhythm shoot to make shots in 25 but knowing I’m at a 70% disadvantage will strongly make me consider not buying 2k26 and that’s exactly why they didn’t release any specific #s before this game dropped. Shady business if you ask me. & no I don’t find that learning to rhythm shoot is worth it because like I said in one of my previous posts there’s too many problems with it, hence why I said they failed at executing it. There’s significant delay when shooting catch and shoots which when you’re playing any competitive team even a slight delay can cause the defender to close out. & like I mentioned, Xbox has a significant advantage over PlayStation with the button remapping.

But again, it's not a "70% disadvantage". You're still able to shoot fine because you're a good shooter, if you learned rhythm shooting, you wouldn't start shooting "70% better". That would mean rhythm shooting would have you shooting around 85%. That's clearly not the case. Those tests that say it's a "70% advantage" are not entirely accurate to real game scenerios, as I'm pretty sure he said in the video, because it's based on perfect timing and perfect tempo. Yeah, if you perfectly time/perfect tempo every shot, I'd hope you shoot around 85%, but unless you're a robot, there's no way you'd be able to do that. So to say it's a 70% boost is misleading.

And as some of the people like 2K labs and 2Ktutes have pointed out, the "delay" when catch and shooting with rhythm shooting comes from the time needed to pull the stick down, as opposed to pressing the button being nearly instant. The quicker you're able to pull the stick down, the quicker you can start the shot animation

People complain every year it's just the same damn game, they finally add something new and unique, and people find ways to complain about that too. Plus the anti-cheat thing is a whole different problem that they're trying to address at all levels. As a PC player, I've seen less cheaters than ever before, there's a confirmed anti-cheat in the code of the game on PC, and I've actually seen people get banned for hacking. I've only seen about 5 hackers in the game so far, 4 of which were in park, and it was all just "maxed stats/badges" hacks, no more "10 ft player with 10ft wingspan"

I totally understand that, as a PC player I never got to play on 24 next gen, so I'm happy to finally recieve next gen and get to experience all those things I've seen console players have for years, so maybe I have my rose tinted glasses on a little too tightly. I’m glad PC finally on the next gen wave lol. 24 next gen with this years builder and cap breakers would’ve been the ideal game for me, even with the decreased green window sizes because I do agree shooting was too easy in 24. I shot 60-65% from 3 in 5s and 70-75% in 3s with an 86 3 rating 😂 but I felt like it was evenly easy for everybody. I do not like feeling that others may or may not have a significant advantage over me because of rhythm vs X shooting and I will say if it’s still a “70%” boost next year, I will strongly consider not buying the game. They’re just lucky basketball is my favorite sport & they make the only basketball game lol

You're spittin on that last part, I used to be an NBA live guy, because I prefered the more "realistic" gameplay, but considering EA has been "working on a new NBA Live" for over half a decade, I just got used to 2K over the last few years because it was my only option. And yeah shooting in 24 was to the point where it was literally statistically a bad decision to even attempt a 2, because if you make enough 3s, you'd have to shoot over 100% from 2s for it to be even, which isn't even possible. I think average shooters should shoot 35%, good shooters should shoot between 40-50%, and great shooters should shoot 50-60%, at the most, because anything more than that just turns the game into who can shoot more 3s

Not to be Rude❌, Leaving a game makes Less Sense whatsoever in Rec or it being Bad Sportsmanship! Every once in a while not always I’ve gotten Banned it still Ends soon! This is all determined by how Teammates cooperate with you and play with you! In real life you’re might have Coaches that remove you from Games or let you leave if desired or needed cause you’re a full grown adult! 2K games you’re out only for Fouls but you might still be spectating and won’t leave without getting Banned not to be RUDE! As soon as your Team plays Defense or Offense and one of your Teammates Stops sharing the ball, hogs the ball, only shoots Layups or 3’s or don’t share with you or others for most of the game, Games over it’s a losing streak for you or others! 👉Teamwork makes the Dream work, if they don’t do their part or try their best then Games over it wasn’t whoever’s Fault who left the Game or their team, others wouldn’t or won’t share the ball or play their part correctly!!

Anyone here that plays C, what's the argument for off reb vs def reb as far as which stat you go higher on? I get that on defense you should have the position+boxout but what about when the other team's PF is another 7'er and your PF teammate isn't boxing out - would higher def reb be a safer bet to secure defensive rebounds?

Personally, if I'm playing a popper Center, I prefer DReb because I'm rarely inside enough to get O boards. But if I'm an inside, I always go higher OReb, especially since it pulls your DReb up enough usually to still be solid as long as you get the badges

This year's shot meter is bad. If possible, I would try to learn to shoot without the meter and learn the jumpshot animation that you have. Learning this animation will also help if you do want to try to learn rhythm shooting. For rhythm shooting, you want to move the stick in one direction, and then when the ball gets to the player's set point (AKA the highest point in the release, but before he starts pushing the ball), you want to move the stick in the opposite direction with the tempo of the arms moving. It took me about 2-3 days to learn, but I haven't gone back since. It's significantly better
