Agility has no effect on ball handling. The only attributes that affect dribbling are Ball Handle and Speed With Ball.

it's advice, not telling you to do anything. you're choosing to waste a lot of time to play every game? fully? and then complain and ask if 2K can change the rules of a league they only make a game about

it's your fault that you want to play each and every regular season game+playoffs. don't be complaining that it takes long. it takes long because you're choosing for it to take long. like I said, my advice was and is either don't play every game OR play every game but find a balance between played quarter length, sim quarter length and those stats. adjusting it and trying it out so average stats are still about the same

I’m new to these games and just picked up 2k24 for the switch. I’m really enjoying my time as a newbie. I was getting C ratings and worse but I’m up to B during my games. I don’t entirely know what I’m doing when I’m trying to block someone with the ball. I just try to keep my arms out in front of the player to try to limit where they can pass. Often they do get around me for a dunk etc. I’m slow to blocking shots too. I mostly wanted to get good enough to play against my teenage nephews. Any tips or references is appreciated and now I want the new game for ps5.

There are 3 meters in #NBA2K25 . Arrow (default), you want to release the button/stick the moment the little arrow meets the big one. For Dial and Ring, the ideal time to release is the moment those meters disappear.

There's obviously still a lot of value in using the Block button. You'll need to use it if you actually want to send shots away and it's essential to hit Block if you're contesting from help side or trying to close the gap on the shooter.

Those collisions where blockers land on ball handlers trying to drive around the defense after a successful pump fake have also been dialed WAY back. So it's important not to jump around aimlessly on defense unless you want to give up easy baskets.

Random #NBA2K25 dribble tip. There's a new controller setting called "Passive Dribble Hand Switches." Enabled allows the dribbler to play ambient crosses while standing still waiting for the play to develop. Disable it if you find yourself getting the wrong dribble moves to play.

One more note on controls for #NBA2K25 . By default, we made right stick defense camera-relative. That means if you're playing in 2K cam and facing the camera, flicking RS to the right will steal with your left hand. We felt this was more intuitive for the new cutoff feature.

To clarify #NBA2K25 right stick defense controls. Holding RS any direction will put you in hands up on the perimeter and allow you to contest jump shots. When using hands up in the paint, Holding RS Up will allow you to play jumping contact layups if you're in good position. Holding RS Left/Right will attempt layup strips. Holding Down will allow you to wall up but not engage in any active defensive block or strip attempts (similar to last year.)

The blowout (push ahead) dribble is returning in #NBA2K25 but works a little differently. You can only trigger it while running in the backcourt and the control is now RT/R2 + right stick flick up. If you flick RS up without the sprint trigger held, you'll do a stutter step.

I actually think, from the way Mike Wang is talking about things, and all the different gameplay updates they've given us, that while yes, it won't be that much different (it is still basketball after all), the game will overall feel a lot smoother and better to play in many different aspects (even though inevitably, broken stuff will still slip through the cracks).

However, I am with you that I'm gonna hold off on getting it, because A) it's still not worth 70$, especially including the fact that many people still spend money on VC afterwards.
And B), waiting allows time for them to fix the inevitable issues that come with the release of the game and hundreds of thousands of people playing and finding the stuff that's broken, so that if you get the game later, at least some of that stuff is hopefully fixed

Yeah no exactly, the longer they keep releasing this game, the more I think they should have a version of the game that's F2P, with maybe just Park and MyTeam. If you wanna charge 70$ for the whole experience, it is frustrating that they do it every year, but I understand it, they're a company, they have to make money. But they should let people who just wanna play Park or MyTeam play for free, and inevitably spend that 70$ towards that game mode, especially if they're the kind of people who aren't going to play the rest of the game.

I don't blame them for doing it this way, it clearly works well for them, but I do wish they'd have that option for people. It would be much easier to convince some friends to get on and play park if they could download the game for free and drop 20$ on VC to have a useable build.

I played 5 games back to back in 2K24, all 5 games, I'm getting terrible animations. I don't know who Mike Wang is but I think 2K25 is gonna be the same way with terrible gameplay and some many bugs.

Mike Wang is the Gameplay Director for NBA 2K, so he's the one who oversees the actual gameplay. And while yeah, there will sometimes still be terrible animations, from all the things they've shown, they've done a lot of work to improve the dribble engine and improve how defense feels, as well as some interesting changes/options for shooting. Obviously we won't know how it feel until the game comes out (and there will definitely be bugs that take ages to fix), but I'm optimistic that 2K25 will be the best 2K in at least the last few years
