Not saying that getting assists isn't a sign of a good passer, but, at least when Luka was on the team, Kyrie's role wasn't as much of a playmaker as much as it was a secondary ball handler and scorer. Obviously, they still wanted him to make the pass if there was a good pass to be made, but still. He'll likely be more of a playmaker when he comes back, but it also depends on how Cooper Flagg comes into his role
