Tempo is the speed in which you push the stick forward. Some streamers turn off the meter as it gives you a green window boost. Some players just rely on visual cue to shoot rather than the meter.

Hard to say without seeing but most likely your stick push isn’t registering. I had this early on with free throws where it wouldn’t register. I’d suggest trying in my court to see if it’s stick movement. Otherwise might be easier to time with button

With a proper lock build, your gonna have high perim with maxed if not close to max defense badges and you’ll be fast, if you just learn how to read them, it’s quite easy, sure maybe sometimes you’ll have to jump and gamble with it and maybe they fake you out, but with all those badges, you’ll make it very hard for them to green it

And for the love of god… if they have even a little space on u and their running to the corner… they will fade it…
