If you look at the ratings from 2K6, every team has between 1-4 60-70 overalls. The only guys who are that low nowadays are 2 way guys, as far as actually rostered players on full contracts, they've got nearly all of them above 70s

I think Sabonis is a little bit better than Sengun honestly. Especially given that Sabonis has been shooting at a decent clip from 3 the past few years (even if it is on low volume). He's also one of the top rebounders in the NBA right now. But yeah I think I agree with like, 90 and above should be proper franchise altering superstars. Guys who it'd be insane if they got traded. Like at this point, looking at the players above 90 (as of last year, they haven't announced how they are changing), I don't think Harden should still be a 90, I don't think JJJ is a 90, I think Trae should be a 90 like Tyrese Haliburton and Booker, Kawhi is hard to rank because he's injured so often. Ja should probably be a 91, Embiid should be a 91 (maybe 92) until he proves he can do better than last season, KAT should be a 92. Kyrie might have to go down because of his injury as well.

I played 25 for pretty much the entire year. And I wouldn't say I regret it. But the problem with the seasons and the REP and all that stuff is that it doesn't respect your time. If you wanna stay competitive, you have to play all year long.

It's not a game you can play a few times a week and then play other stuff in between, because otherwise people will just get inherent advantages over you with cap breakers, Max+1s, or just better cards in a mode like MyTeam.

I actually enjoyed 2K25. I don't have that problem either. The problem I DO have with the game, is if you're going to play it, it basically forces you to play it constantly. You have to grind the season passes, you have to grind REP, you have to grind to get VC. Your only other option is spending way too much money just to stay competitive. And as fun as the game is, I still have 25. The servers are still up. And even when they go down, I've got MyLeague. I'll live. I don't need to spend $70 a year just to be able to keep playing online, it's just not worth my money or my time. Because by not spending that $70, I could instead spend the next year playing one of the many games that I already own and either haven't finished or haven't started

Especially as a PC player, who doesn't have crossplay, so I spend way too much time waiting in lobbies for the game because they have some of the stupidest matchmaking I've ever seen in any video game (like why am I waiting in a locker room with 1 other guy when there are 3 other guys waiting in a different locker room, and it won't just put us together???), and who has to deal with numerous bugs and technical issues, some of which have been present since 2K16

If everyone was able to actually be 99s, people would have no weaknesses on a build. What balances players in Play Now with their weaknesses is the fact that NBA players are rated based on how they perform on the court. As high as Jokic is rated, you might say "oh well he still has weaknesses in his defense and his physicals", but that's because they got him up to 98 by giving him stuff like 99 close shot, 98 offensive consistency, 98 post control, 98 draw foul, 95 post fade, etc.

If the people had the ability to make players that were actually 99 overalls, they would optimize the system. They would say "well I don't need 99 close shot, I can go 92. I don't need 95 post fade, I can go 90. I don't need 98 post control, I can go 95, etc" And by taking away some of those top end expensive things, they would be able to get physicals/defense/etc to much more respectable levels in the high 70s to mid 80s. People would optimize the game until no build had weaknesses
