TheCity, MyCareer and its microtransactions make the majority of the money TakeTwo makes (along with other games like GTA Online)

If they were to cut down or remove microtransactions they risk:

  • loosing serious money because the loss in money from the removal of microtransactions wont be made up by more players buying the game.

  • Upsetting TakeTwo and causing serious consequences to the company possibly get 2k shut down (There's no NBA 2K without 2K)

So i guess their solution is to just make more money off MyCareer but make it more bearable for the players by improving or adding extra modes outside of MyCareer or something.

2K has had a lot of problems, but so far, the release for 2K25 looks good. Certainly not perfect, but a massive step in the right direction, especially considering how lackluster 2K24 was
