It's funny, because people talk about the strength of the East vs the West, and yeah, the West has the better top teams arguably, and the East also has the worse bottom feeders (Brooklyn, Pacers, and Wizards are gonna have a tough year). But the West has so many dysfunctional mistake teams. Like I feel like the "middle of the pack" teams in the East are better than the "middle of the pack" teams in the west. Like how are the Suns 7th in the West. How are the Jazz 10th with a 4-7 record. Some insane stuff going on over there

100% agree on the Hornets. Kon and Kalkbrenner both look really good, and Sion James has been surprisingly good as well. Their biggest problem is just missing Lamelo and Miller

He's really gotta get healthy and prove himself. But I'm not out on him yet. Like Lamelo and Zion have had that one good season and then 4-5 years of seasons not being healthy. Miller had that good first season and then 1 (maybe 2 at the end of this year depending on if he can get healthy) seasons not being healthy, but I'm not gonna judge until I can see if he can actually stay healthy for a season. If he spends this year injured, that's gonna be concerning. He's under contract through next year so he has through then to prove he deserves a contract extension.

Yeah totally understandable. I think if the Hornets were to trade anyone, it'd be Lamelo, but they'd have to get someone else who can be the PG in return since they don't really have another true starting PG kinda player. Sexton is starting caliber I'd argue, but he's more of an SG

Sexton is a different flavor of Lou Williams. Lamelo is hard to judge. He’s too talented to have that B label and while he does impact winning more than a generic replacement player he doesn’t impact winning as much as he should based on his contract and the teams need for him to be a 1A or 1B kinda guy

Well Lamelo's biggest problems in the past have been his defense and his boneheaded plays. His defense (in the limited games he's played this season) has seemed better, he seems more engaged at least. And there are less boneheaded plays. But he needs those guys around him too like Miller to be playing because that gives him people he can pass to that are reliable. I feel like a big part of his boneheaded plays offensively in the past has been, to a degree, him thinking "Well me doing this is more likely to go in than if I pass to Terry Rozier or 35 year old Gordon Hayward"
