One thing that helped me all the years I was playing ball in school, jump at the hoop, rim, backboard, net… whatever it is you can any chance you can to measure your progress. If I touched net, I went for backboard. Once I was able to touch backboard, I aimed for the spring box at the back of the rim.
I’m just shy of 6 foot and have been since I was 15.
I’m older now, much older. But I was able to dunk at least once a year from when I was 16 all the way up til I was 31. That’s when age and wear and tear caught up to me.
