I can't post a photo but - I'm playing the Kobe era, in 05-06 season. I finished 1st in my division, 2nd highest 'top' division team. The Cavs finished with a higher winning percentage, and took the 2nd place spot. The Wizards, also a division winner, finished with a lower winning percentage than me, but finished 3rd. I placed 4th. This isn’t one of those leagues that dies after a season.

We’ve been running strong since 2K20, with a core group of dedicated GMs who know how to build, compete, and stay active.

Now we’re expanding to a full 30-team MyNBA sim league — and we’re looking for the right people to take over the remaining franchises.

I'm running a specialized NBA 2K26 MyNBA Universe for viewers! It’s an entirely offline, simulated league that I stream live so we can all watch the story unfold. We tune in for the close games and the full All-Star weekend experience, including the Dunk Contest and 3pt Contest. We handle all trades at the end of each season to keep the league balanced. Statement to 2K Sports Regarding Improvements to MyNBA / MyEras

As someone who spends a lot of time playing MyNBA and MyEras, I believe these modes have incredible potential but still lack several systems that would truly bring franchise mode to life.

One of the best systems currently in NBA 2K exists in MyPlayer: the GOAT Ranking and Dynasty Moments system. This system tracks accomplishments like winning streaks, MVPs, playoff appearances, Finals runs, and historic seasons, awarding GOAT points that move players through tiers of all-time greatness.

However, this system does not exist in MyNBA or MyEras, which is surprising considering franchise players often simulate 20–40 years of league history. Running a franchise for decades without a system that tracks where your players rank among the all-time greats removes a major layer of immersion.

A GOAT tracking system should exist within franchise mode, allowing players to accumulate GOAT points based on accomplishments such as championships, MVPs, Finals MVPs, All-NBA selections, DPOY awards, and historic statistical milestones. The game should track GOAT tiers so players can see where their superstar ranks historically.

Imagine developing a franchise player over 20 seasons and not knowing whether they’ve reached the level of Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Magic, or Bird. Being able to see that progression would add long-term storytelling to franchise mode.

Another major addition would be dynasty tracking. The Dynasty Moments system already tracks achievements like 20-game winning streaks, 60-win seasons, and playoff streaks. Implementing this in MyNBA would allow the game to recognize historic team runs and compare them to past dynasties like Jordan’s Bulls, Kobe’s Lakers, the Billups Pistons, the Duncan Spurs, or the Curry Warriors. If a user builds a dominant team, the game should acknowledge that dynasty and show where it ranks historically.

Presentation could also improve significantly. Other sports games have started adding stadium exterior shots and game-day atmosphere, and NBA 2K could benefit from similar presentation elements such as arena exterior shots, skyline views, and fans entering the arena before games. This helps create immersion, especially for players who support teams outside the cities they live in.

Another idea would be integrating NBA TV-style segments into franchise mode that discuss league storylines such as power rankings, MVP races, Rookie of the Year debates, playoff predictions, and trade deadline analysis. Even simple segments would make the league feel more alive.

The NBA Draft should also feel like a bigger event. A draft room presentation, commissioner announcements, and player reactions would make draft night feel closer to the real NBA experience.

Free agency could also include press conference cutscenes when signing major players, with jersey reveals and media coverage to make big signings feel meaningful.

Adding a team facility hub would also strengthen immersion. This could include players working out in the gym, attending film sessions, or receiving medical treatment.

Finally, a trophy room would be a great addition where players can see their championships, MVPs, Finals MVPs, and retired jerseys displayed over the life of their franchise.

MyNBA and MyEras already have an incredible foundation. Adding systems like GOAT tracking, dynasty recognition, deeper presentation, and franchise storytelling would make the mode feel much more alive and truly allow players to experience the evolution of NBA history.

Starting a franchise in earlier eras like the Jordan Era is one of the best features NBA 2K has introduced, but there are still issues with historical tracking and presentation. For example, when starting in the Jordan Era, Michael Jordan begins with around 10,000 career points, but if you simulate 15+ seasons and he finishes with over 30,000 points, the franchise team record boards still show the original total instead of updating to reflect his actual career numbers. This breaks immersion in a mode built around simulating NBA history.

Presentation accuracy also needs improvement as the timeline progresses. For example, when the league reaches 1996, the 76ers should transition to Allen Iverson’s rookie-era jerseys, and when simulating forward into modern years, teams should begin wearing City Edition and returning classic jerseys when those uniforms exist in real life. Right now, many teams remain locked into the same uniforms regardless of the year, which takes away from the authenticity of reliving and evolving through NBA history.

Coaches should also have GOAT rankings.
