An assist means you helped someone with getting the 2-3 points they themselves scored, not to say that's nothing, because it matters, but steals and rebounds both give new opportunities to score 2-3 apiece and I guess I value opportunities more than helping out?

Street Kings or open court are the best places for that. Open court you don't have to watch the young Wayne intro.
Street Kings you can pick your opponent each time like someone short and you can get the shut it down.
