#Night Vision Ideas

I would love to see maps darker than the already existing night maps. Dark enough where some form of illumination would be absolutely required for proper navigation of the level.
Whether it be a flashlight, or Night Vision/Thermal Imaging headsets and/or scopes, as well as attachments to accompany these.
The usage of such devices could be weapon attachments, as well as character customization options in order to properly incorporate head-mounted Night Vision / Thermals.
This would change the pacing of the gameplay loop of Deadswitch in an interesting way, while retaining the overall feel and order of operations.
This would make sniping at long range, a much more interesting option, as well as close range a MUCH more viable option.
This is because with the inclusion of IR Lasers and Illuminators, as well as flashlights, Night Vision, and Thermal Imaging, target acquisition would not surround your visible sight and reaction time, but the type of gear your enemy is using, and how it interacts with your own gear. An IR laser would assist in aiming, but would give away your position to those using Night Vision. Flashlights are very powerful and can illuminate a broad swath of the map for a very cheap cost, but also give away your location to all players.
Visible Light Lasers would do the same thing, giving away your position to all players within sight range.
using Night Vision would be extremely powerful, allowing you to see the entirety of the map almost as if it were day, and being able to spot enemy Infrared equipment. However, it makes you extremely susceptible to flashbangs and Flashlights, with Flashlights causing an extended blindness much longer than the default period, and Flashlights blinding the player for as long as the beam is held onto the player.
Thus, having a varied pairing of equipment, and actively reacting to your enemies equipment will allow you to acquire your target faster than your enemy, and win the game.
Proper skill will still be required however, and simply having the advantage equipment-wise will not always guarantee winning a battle.
I hope you will take my request into consideration, as I am quite excited for how it should be implemented, as well as how it would be balanced.
Thank you for your time.
I really like this
We also have dynamic lighting planned, eg flashlights/IR
So nightvision would be great as well
Thermal could also be a fun alternative to NVGs, probably only add it in the form of a clip on, so limited view angle and frustrum, and as a tool that is expensive but flashlight proof. Guess its time to learn some shaders lol

Also, I would like to add the fact that muzzle flash as well as sound would be an important aspect for not only identifying targets, but pinpointing their location as well.
This would make flash hiders, silencers and any other means of hiding not only the muzzle flash from your firearm, but the sound coming off of it an extremely important addition to any night/dark traversal kit.
I firmly believe this would not only make for a very interesting gameplay addition, as having to be quick with your identification of weapons/threats just from a tiny glimpse through either the sight from the muzzle flash and/or the audible sound from the firearm is something we don't yet have in Deadswitch, but I also believe that it would give the silencer a much needed additional benefit outside of simply hiding your marker on UAV's/maps while shooting.
I greatly appreciate your consideration of my idea, and am very excited that you enjoy the idea as well.
Thank you greatly!
