#The ability to "archive " an identity.

The way I see this working. On the back end is essentially work exactly like deleting and identity. No more communication will come to this identity. However all communication that's been received so far will be stored. For example if I have an identity and I received texts over the last 6 months that I want to keep, when I archive the identity all those texts will still be there and the phone number will still be showing so I know what it was but obviously the number will go back into the system to be recycled.

And if you still want to reference that number, couldnt you add that number as custom text to record it

#

if you say, wanted to recycle the number

Well for my use case, that's exactly what I did, I have an identity I deleted the number and created a new number and as a result lost my history. It would have been nice to have the history still attached to the identity.

#

I put the old number on the notes but realized that deleting the number deleted the history even though I didn't delete the identity

#

Even if it wasn't an "archive" function as described. I feel like if you delete a number but keep the identity you should have the option to keep the associated history

Is that 100% what happened?

This sounds more like a bug. @candid gale thoughts? Is this normal behavior?

@halcyon igloo should I create a bug report
