Here’s why we celebrate:
It’s all about This DEMONIC KING - King Mahabali. He was this super chill, a fair and righteous king (i will leave the Maveli Poem below with Translation), and everyone loved him for how good the Rule was under his Reign. he got so popular that even the gods got MAD BEEF with him and was SUPER JELOUS (dramatic AF).

So, Lord Vishnu came down disguised as a tiny dude called Vamana (A Bramin Boy btw) and asked Mahabali for three steps of land. Mahabali, being super generous, agreed. But here’s the plot twist: Vamana grew into a giant, covering the whole universe with just two steps. With no land left for the third, Hence Mahabali offered his head to honour the word he gave to Vamanan . Vishnu was impressed with this and Before he was **stepped 🥵 ** on Mahabali and send him to the NETHERR WORLD he GAVE HIM PERMISION to let Mahabali visit his Land and his people once a year, and that’s when Onam happens—when we welcome him back to Kerala

• Pulikali: Grown dudes paint themselves like tigers and dance around. (No joke, it's a thing.)

mainly the first and last Day are the important ones
