btech honors any significant advantage or helpful?

how much of a help will btech honors (vtu, specifically cse stream) have over btech for placements?

my friends who finished the course now stays at home doing absolutely nothing

jokes aside, if u have the self motivation and is actually interested , u can get good placements , there are tooo much Engineers (even the Mech peeps after thier course learn some CS things and get the CSE's jobs)
other than that u wud be just wasting ur time and energy
focus on something u like man
dont do it for the sake of parents or cuz ur friends are doing it

i think you misunderstood my question. for peeps with cgpa >= 8.5, they get honors tag in their degree and get to complete additional courses from 5th sem. i was wondering how much of a help this could have for placements?

Well for placements marks matters only for basic shortlisting. Even if you are the topper of the college it doesn't matter for the interviewer. It all comes down to skills you possess and how confident you are

So interviewer won't think B.Tech honors is special or something and it doesn't guarantee you having edge over others
