#How to do a character costumization
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I am friends with the creator but they aren't online anymore but I think they have 1 child obj on the head and creates a child obj on itself when something is selected or idk
Hmm like, when not selected transparency 100% when selected transparency 0% or something like that?
Yea my theory didn't work
I think there's a child obj on the characters head and body and when you select a costume it checks if the child obj has a child obj that is the costume and the corresponding body part makes the child obj
I didn't understand
There's 2 child object on the actor, one for head and one for body, when you select a acc it makes one of them create a child obj that is the acc

Did you try what was suggested?
Ye
Is the main actor size 1?
You need to make a script which will generate a child object is that what you already did?
No
So either you're going to have to create all the assets and set the opacity to 0 (which is less efficient), or you will have to change the size of the asset after generating it
Can you try that?
Ok my script is looking like this (When the character presses the button the child object is created), how do I position the child object ?
You see the green cross? Put it in the middle of the character
Then put the green cross off the hair at the bottom of it
Try and see if it works
Changing the cross is a way so solve this but makes so many more problems, i propose having separate child objs the clothes will appear on(bcuz it's shirts and hats I have 2) (just imagine the child objs are in the character)
That would still require some movement of the green cross
Yeah but having it not be the players helps like A LOT cuz he's making a one piece game
Or like any action game in general
