#ISO: creators interested in creating a community/group for promotion

Hello everyone. Recently I've been trying to find ways to promote our business and ko-fi page. We have an art education business where we provide digital art tutorials for animation, illustration, and more. We are planning to use ko-fi to sell our physical products and host memberships.

Anyway, getting more traffic to both sites has been a struggle. So, I thought about working with other artists/audiences and we can promote each other.

I was told that joining a Pinterest group might be beneficial since we could share audiences with other people and it would be a way to benefit everyone. The biggest issues are

  1. It's very hard to even join most Pinterest groups. Many are older/less active, and the owners don't reply to requests to join.
  2. Apparently, Pinterest as a platform has been losing quality due to A.I., excessive ads, and accounts being deleted without warning.

So, I thought, well, maybe I could start a community with other creatives. We could work together and post our work and services along with promoting each other. And this is open to anyone. Artists, bloggers, streamers, anyone with a separate audience we're we could all promote each other in some way. Maybe an artist can make some emotes for a streamer. Or we can share our work on YouTube or other social media. I also write some blogs, so I could write about the services other people offer and share it with my audience. Just some ideas that are up to change if anyone has better ideas.

I know I'm rambling, so I'll ask if anyone would be interested in this idea. And if so, what platform would be best for it? The only other social media I know with groups is Facebook, but Facebook isn't as popular as it once was. But I don't use too many platforms so there could be stuff I'm not aware of. Also, again, this is open to anyone, so feel free to reach out. Thanks.

I've never used Tumblr myself so I'm very unfamiliar with it, but I'm open to it if enough people think it would be good. My only issue is that, in my experience, tumblr is a site used more by teenagers? I could just be ignorant of the site though. Do you think it would be good to promote art related services?

Cool. So, I guess the first question we should ask is, what social media does everyone already have? I have instagram, facebook, tik tok, pintrest, linkedin, and youtube. Tumblr, Bluesky, and Twitter

I do have a Snapchat and LinkedIn floating out there and an Instagram but they suspended me twice. 🙃

Do you have someone who could moderate a Discord server for you in your absence?

@grand shell No, I don't have anyone who could moderate a discord for me 🥲 But tbh, I feel like the other sites would be better since they're usually better for promoting stuff. Unless you guys are personally leaning toward discord.

But looking at the replies, it seems most people are leaning toward Instagram and Twitter? Like I said, I'm personally fine creating a few groups so long as we can all be active on them. So maybe we could do one instagram group and a twitter group?

Okay, so for right now, I'll look into creating an instagram group. Once I've got it set up, I'll ask for and add everyone's accounts. Then we can discuss our posting schedule.

New update. Please join the Discord server by TimeFlysAway linked above if you haven't already. The goal of our collab will be to help promote each other by posting 'spotlight posts/videos/blogs/etc' of each other on our own respective platforms every once in a while.

For example, I could make a YouTube video and at the end of it I could say, "BTW if you're interested in getting an art commission, so and so has these available on their ko-fi page". Many of us have already posted our social links, so could share those in the spotlight post/video/blog.

Ideally, the goal is to get more eyes on everyone's work, so make sure to visit the bio section to see what exactly people want to be promoted and the profile link section to include their socials 🙂
