Ping difficulties

Hello,

I’m getting quite high ping on the EU server and I’m just wondering if there’s anything I can do to help reduce this? At times I’m getting 500+ ping😅.

Hey! I think we had some severs go down. When do server select what option are you using?

I’m using the Frankfurt one as I’m playing from the UK :)

Is this ping constantly high or only in special cases? It could be a standard connection issue too but any info helps

It’s quite consistently high, at 97 ping usually. When I’m doing actions such as gathering materials etc, it can shoot up to 300-500 at different times

Just for more info, I didn’t have this problem when I played the beta :)

Hmm that is good to know. I wish to help more with this but I know the team will look at this. Just incase can you fill out the logs for us to have. Maybe helpful for them to take a look at when they get a chance.

Find your logs on Windows:

• Right-click "Loftia Playtest" in Steam -> "Manage" -> "Browse Local Files"
• Navigate into "Loftia" -> "Saved" -> "Logs"
• "Loftia.log" will always be the current/most-recent log file.

Find your logs on Mac:

• Right-click (or hold down Control while clicking) the Finder icon in your dock
• Choose "Go to Folder..."
• Type or paste "~/Library/Logs/Loftia/" in the box

One issue… the form is saying the logs are too big of a file v.v

If it still gives you a issue let me know the file size. I do know some logs get really large for some reason that is also being looked at

Hmm that is very large for a log. That's okay the team will take a peak in here at least to see if they have a solution. Check out #1496993943198629969 there is a website with known issues and some work arounds

Yeah im unsure as to why it’s so large. I’ve had a wee look at that already but it can get through the firewall etc so at least it’s not that I suppose! I’ll keep an eye out though to see if the team have a fix, thank you for your help!

Hello i just want to add that i have the same problem (also using Frankfurt). My FPS are also sometimes 2-4, mostly 12-20. Ping is 90, but sometimes its also 400-600

Hi UK player here too with the exact same issue on the Frankfurt server, pings never seem to go lower than around 200 and FPS so low I’ve only managed to walk to Milo and can’t interact with him 😆

Hi there, I'm also having ping issues all the way in the US. I'm in Low Perfomance Mode which is the only way it's usuable on my 2020 13" Macbook Pro with an M1 chip. Despite being in LA and on the LA server, any time I go to the city or gardens my ping spikes and my FPS tanks. I have pretty good internet speeds, no VPN and have ran other games with heavy graphics along with video and photo editing. Ping in Low Perfomance is around 150-241, in regular mode I'm going into the 300's rare occasion 400's.

I can't play the game for more than an hour at a time because it just gets so slow I can't do anything.

Literally same for me, I’m on Mac too and it doesn’t struggle like this with anything else (iMac with M3 chip)—I’ve been wondering if this could also be a Mac issue?? 😵‍💫

In my instance, FPS is fine (running via steam on PC). Have you checked the website of known issues to see if this is impacting Mac’s specifically? :)

Omg thank you and sorry for not realising there was a website as well!! I only saw the thread of knowns on here and didn’t see anyone talking about FPS/ping issues until your post 🙈 looks like there’s an issue with Mac specifically so my bad 😆

No need to apologise at all! I didn’t know there was a website either until the other day, but as you said the ping issue seems to be impacting people regardless of what device they’re playing on😅

Hi Folks,

We're investigating the issues people have been having and pulling together another patch this week. It won't fix everything for everyone, but hopefully addresses Mac issues and the extra large log files which are also causing perf issues.

I am on windows and Frankfurt server but also have the problem that sometimes the FPS drops.
The ping is often 60, sometimes 400 depending on the instance.
But FPS drops significantly the more people there seem to be (not sure that is the reason, but i feel like the busier the streets are, the more FPS drops i seem to have.) Could also be weather. When its raining/stormy i have fewer FPS than when its sunshine. At least thats what it feels like, not sure if thats really the cause
