anyone else watching the rookie? I've been enjoying it so much, a lot more than I thought I would.
Yeah I watched it. Havent finished the new season yet though
me neither, I think I have to find the final season outside of my service too.
or rather, the most recent one.
Oh. Im watching on disney plus
ah I'm on netflix.
YESS
I watched all 7 seasons and Ik the characters by heart
I'm looking forward to catching the most recent season, it's been so fun.
I was legit walking around all month singing "arrest me, but make it sexy".
cop cuties, cute 'n' on duty~

go ahead and lock me up~
HAHQHAHA SO REAL
Ik the song by heart.
baby blue booties, go ahead and lock me up!!
I have it in my playlist xD
anyone into kdramas π
I love dramas, I try to watch a series between other series such as comedy, so I rotate them in. x3
For some reason we are watching Terminator
Everything just went up in flames
Whoever said that Terminator is not a love story is lying
oooh what are u watching atm?
- Episode 11 of Dear X
- Episode 4 of Moon River
And you?
ooooh are either of them good? I'll look up the premises in a bit
just watched ep 9 of dynamite kiss, it's very misunderstanding-core
haven't really been watching much lately tbf
I am liking them!
Fair warning β οΈ Dear x ||is very niche, so if you don't like gore or more like psychological games I don't recommend that one ||
Ohh that one is on my list
oh i see! idm it too much but definitely not for everyone π
i feel like it starts as a rom-com but atm it feels more like a angsty makjang
What's makjang?
kinda like a trope-y soap drama, they tend to be long-running serials with lots of plot twists and over-the-top writing
Ooooohh
-# fave kdramas of all time:
crash landing on you
love in the moonlight (moonlight drawn by clouds)
rookie historian goo hae-ryung
-# enjoyed these silly but hilarious and heartwarming shows:
what's wrong with secretary kim
mr. queen
-# currently watching:
100 days my prince
-# fave cdramas of all time:
the legend of the white snake (ζ°η½ε¨εδΌ ε₯ / xin bai niang zi chuan qi) (2019)
-# enjoyed:
yanxi palace: princess adventures
-# currently watching:
the princess weiyoung

I didnt finished!!!!
mr.queen is one that i would definitely recommend to anyone!
secretary kim was also fun
attorney woo is cute! i like the acting on that one

yes to love between fairy and devil and the story of the pearl girl!!~
i need to go into viki and see what i had watched already
haha nice. crash landing on you is just fantastic.
I'm glad you like those others!

I'll link it from my quest tracker.

i also love this!
i use mydramalist to track, but i keep forgetting my password π
and then resetting it, and then forgetting it again xd
**I did finish crash landing!! **
What I didn't finished was my comment about kdramas!
I wanted to send two messages!

Buuuuut I pressed send by accident

when you're excited and smack enter so fast.
YEEES!
I read the list and I was like!!! Oooooohhhh

crash landing is what got bestie watching kdramas with me. >:]
we're actually so entertained by the multi-view slow mo into freeze frame endings.
I got my mom into dramas with Vincenzo!!
niiice.
I really do recommend my other two faves though:
-# love in the moonlight (aka moonlight drawn by clouds)
-# rookie historian goo hae-ryung
if you haven't seen them and don't mind historical setting!!
i LOVE love in the moonlight, i'm fairly certain i watched it 3 times and listened to the soundtrack on repeat for ages
rookie historian is a slower burn to start but so amazing and pays off with the story progression.
aww!
I like historical but with magic like Alchemy of Souls! I have rewatched the second season like 4 times
ou that's on my watchlist.
It's sooo good!
would recommend, the actors are so pretty
I designed my ac:nh main room after the prince's room.
Yes.
no way! you'll have to show me if u still have pics!
I will try to remember to dig them up sometime. x3
Us, please
Ok! Beautiful ladies! I'm going to sleep. I almost dropped my phone on my face! It landed on my shoulder! Kinda hurt
Read you later!!

Did he just say || because it's yours!!!!! ||
WHAAAT I CANT
I love him!
Percy Jackson ||s2 ep 4 ||
I'm somewhat approaching the end of 100 days my prince (six eps left to go), and I have to say it's been really good, better than I expected. I find myself excited to watch each evening and have to make myself stop and go to bed.
-# also it's leaving my service at the end of the month, so I had to smash it. thankfully that was easy!!
does anyone else here watch Stranger Things? π
Ohhh, I need to finish it!!
finale came out earlier today!! I was able to finish it finally
it was amazing π₯Ή
|| is Steve alive? ||
That's all I care about!

I finished 100 days my prince; it was very good. I'd recommend for sure if you like historical (joseon era) drama romance. it hasn't made my top 3 but I'd say it was a favourite.
-# genre: kdrama
HE SAID IT!!
@latent scaffold, are u watching Percy?
I haven't yet xD, im trying to find things to watch maybe i should
Ohhh! I thinks is good!!
I need to rewatch it. I love how different Percy is with Annabeth in this season

I started watching it but only the first 3 episodes
i never read the books and the movies were only about the first season so I was pretty confused starting this season XD
They re-did the whole thing
So it doesn't matter if you watched the movies or read the books
It doesnt match the books? :o
It does
But Rick, the writer, is making slight changes to create a better, more cohesive story on TV, because in the books it's only Percyβs pov, and in the series you get a broader picture.
The main outline is there!
ohhh ok ok
I need it to be Wednesday, NOW!!!
-# pretty please
Anyone else looking forward to The Rookie starting back this week? π
ou I haven't checked yet but I hope it's coming to aus as well.
I am so looking forward to its continuation!
Ooh hopefully there isn't a huge delay in when you get it!
yes! I'm still catching up w s7 but I'm so excited for the new season
Who else finished Percy Jackson's S2?
TELL ME LIES
New episode of High Potential! LOL
You Loftians need to watch it! I swear it's good!
Heck yeah! I started a short series right before Bridgerton's new season so I'm trying to finish it first and then I'm 100% beginning Bridgerton ASAP
XD
I was technically watching percy
But bridgerton is more important
And now i brought queen charlotte in as well
I've been putting off bridgerton tbh, i watched the first 2 eps of s4 and then kinda stopped oops
but I'm watching ep4 w a friend on sunday so need to catch up haha
Have them watch 3 and 4 with you π
But 4 is def more scandalous
Hope you didnt get spoilered
i tried but they're watching 3 with a different friend
i also read the books so I'm getting spoilered regardless
but my insta is currently filled w bridgerton reels π
the v day ep of the rookie is so incredibly chaotic omg
here i was hoping for a nice chill ep but no we got chaos instead π
Hahaha true - although I'm kinda surprised everyone got out alive. The Rookie didn't use to pull punches like that. A scene like ||the explosion at the station|| usually would have resulted in casualties.
literally!! i was half expecting ||miles to die what with the curse on him too|| but honestly, I'm glad it ended well, ||that chenford scene at the end too omg π«Ά||
Yeah I thought for sure ||Miles was done for... then I thought maybe it would randomly be Smitty π«£ Was definitely relieved by cute Chenford at the end! || I would have rioted if something happened to Tim or Lucy lol
omg smitty! i would have cried so hard if anything happened to him, it is my firm belief that he was skipping work that day for the release of a new snack or smth π€£
also i can't believe a third of the season is released already ππ i never want it to end, i need this show to continue for another 10 years or smth
Haha yeah he's a great character to have pop up here and there
There starting to film a pilot episode for another spinoff called The Rookie: North so maybe that'll help haha
oh yeah I've heard of that one, but I've not seen any of the spin offs yet, there's feds, north and one more? idk, maybe I'll watch them after s8 but have just started a bones rewatch so might be a while haha
nvm there's just the 2 spinoffs, i think i got confused w rookie blue
Haha fair - yeah I never really tried the first spinoff, but this one takes place in the same region I grew up in so I'm intrigued lol
ahh fair enough, i hope u enjoy it and do share if it's any good π
I am annoyed that High Potential is taking another break!
Why!!!
Please give me my episode!!!

i really enjoyed this week's ep of the rookie, ||finding out more about lucy's backstory as a #vanlife girl was... eye-opening AND ISTG THAT CURSE ON MILES WTH!! first he almost dies last ep and now he almost washes out!?!?? WTH!! it was nice seeing seth again though||
I loved seeing more of || Lucy and Nyla's relationship. It's really blossomed into something sweet and I love it! ||
I know right!! And at the end ||where Nyla comforts Lucy at the beach, genuinely I was feeling those feelings so much||, I have to say that this season's pacing is so so good, I love the balance of looking back and also new things and all those emotions (I am just so eloquent /s)
potential spoilers for the rookie (8x08) ||just saw the promo for this ep and tim's mum?!? she somehow looks identical to tim's sister and i was like she looks a bit young to play tim's mum so i looked up her age AND SHE'S ALMOST 70?!??? heck, i wanna look that good at almost 70 πππ||
okay i am caught up with this week's episode of the rookie so weekly reaction time β¨οΈ
||thrilled to see oscar again, the episodes with him in it are always so fun π i also really enjoyed being introduced to a bunch of criminals, and geraldine is just the kind of chaotic i like, although i doubt we'll see her much again since she's now back in jail... and omg tim π€¦π»ββοΈ how do u not tell your MOTHER that you got divorced because your ex-wife was a full-blown drug addict?!?? i like how they resolved it, but would have liked to see that conversation play out, maybe it'll come up again next episode (i need to watch the promo still), and also everett(?) propositioning tim was iconic! that is definitely a plot point they follow up on later in the season, and i am excited for it! nyla being back on patrol makes a lot of sense for the snippet i saw, i keep getting spoiled-ish on social media but i won't put it here||
on a side note, i can never decide if I enjoy the multi-camera episodes... on one hand, i think it's super cool how they get the various angles from multiple recording cameras but on the other, it makes me a bit... disoriented from the multiple camera angle changes
-# I love the rookie, and I love how much you're loving the rookie.
I wasn't expecting to love it so much but it seems to have kinda taken over my downtime a little π
Not that I'm complaining of course, it's good to have a hobby that doesn't involve consuming short-form content
Okay, I just found out ||Tim's mum is in the next episode too!!!!|| AHHHHH YES! I loved the dynamics sm
Agree on the multi-cam, but this one wasn't nearly as jarring for me as the previous ones. Barely noticed, honestly!
yeah, some of them are veryy noticeable :0 i'm glad you didn't find this one too bad, i also find it super clever how they only do the camera angles when they put the body cams on
the rest of bridgerton s4 today!!
Just watched episode 5!
I'm waiting until the weekend to watch it w a friend but am so so excited!!
how was it? π
I'll probably try to stretch the few episodes we have myself haha
I feel like the plot finally got moving a bit more for the season. Sadly it's not been my favorite season so far. I haven't felt like much has happened? Idk
Ah fair enough, I don't think it's particularly fast-paced in this season, and at this point, I feel like I'm more for the sideplots than the main pair π but hopefully it ends well, and now I need to keep myself off social media so I don't get spoiled π
not that I would be spoiled when I read the books, but still
bit late but I'm caught up w this week's episode of the rookie!
I love ||the Chenford scenes this episode, although I don't love that Tim was stuck behind a desk, I feel like he should be out and about patrolling w the rest of them! I also love the new pairing with Miles and Nyla, I feel like the dynamic could really work out, and while I initially thought Nyla would bounce Penn ASAP, I feel like she's now more prepared to give him a second chance, especially when her own evaluation might hinge on it.||
I didn't care for the crossover though, the jokes weren't funny and I kept rolling my eyes. I've not seen anything of theirs and I'm not sure I could be convinced to. I also didn't love that ||Grey's marriage might be on the rocks π Like, there was a conversation earlier this season or late last season, I can't remember, where there was a discussion about making time for one another, and I feel like this is a continuation of that. It's not like it came out of nowhere but I really hope their relationship lasts!!||
Ooh I caught up late this week too haha
I do think Miles is going to get a lot of great character development as a cop ||working with Nyla. I did find it funny that they paired the two people who nearly got fired together because that probably isn't a great idea IRL haha
I definitely thought Grey's marriage was going to break up or have issues when they started working opposite hours. I do absolutely love that Nolan and Grey can actually be regular friends now though since there isn't a boss / subordinate dynamic there anymore. I've always felt like they really wanted to be friends and were being careful.
I've watched some Dropout and they can be pretty funny, but it's definitely a specific audience. I will say they made them look unprofessional and ditzy in the show.||
Oh no, that pairing would be a disaster IRL, but it makes for great entertainment, so we'll allow it. Also, ||I think Nyla is a better TO than she gets credit for, plus I liked her as a TO so I'm glad to see more of her in uniform, even if it was a demotion for her||
Ooh yes, I love ||Grey and Nolan's relationship now, it's honestly come such a long way!||
Oh okay, I wonder if that's just a consequence of being on mainstream TV. I'll look into some of their content, do you have recommendations/suggestions on where to start?
Also to add on, I had to check with a friend but apparently I watched a couple eps of a show on Dropout some 3(?) years ago, which I vaguely remember enjoying π
Oh yeah, I think ||Nyla will be a great influene and that's exciting.||
I think the funniest thing Dropout does is Game Changer. If you like Whose Line is it Anyway then Make Some Noise might feel familiar. I honestly don't watch much. Although if you like D&D campaign stuff they have a series called D20 that is really great quality and doesn't feel as long winded as Critical Role or similar things.
Not sure how much Dropout posts on their YouTube channel since they have their own platform.
Yeah I've heard of the D&D stuff, but it's not something I'm interested in. Apparently, the show I watched was Dirty Laundry, which is about getting people to spill their secrets. I enjoyed it when I watched it but I'm not sure it's something I would like anymore
Haha fair!
Thank you for the recommendations anyhow, I'll give those a try when I finish catching up on the rest of my shows π
omg game changer metioned!! me and my bf have such a great time watching the eps while eating dinner
even if i didnt understand the jokes and refs, i just loved everyone's energy and vibes!!
-# to be fair some of the skits were too um.... mature for me to enjoy properly but we do revel at the 'cringe gross' feel
I am FINALLY caught up with Bridgerton S4 and somehow I managed to avoid most of the spoilers on social media and I have to say I love the Asian representation on the show this season. I also love how they've made Araminta much more complex than in the books, and ||Rosamund and Posy's reactions to finding out that Araminta stole Sophie's dowry|| was honestly one of my favourite scenes. It was honestly so good ππ I also love Eloise's character development and ||her apologies to Cressida and Hyacinth after realising that it doesn't have to be her vs. them just, I loved it so much|| I'm really looking forward to seeing who will be the sibling to be married next season!
I thought I heard they were doing ||Eloise|| in the next season but I'm not 100% sure that's accurate
I've seen that floating around too, but I also wonder if they might do ||Francesca|| next, they've already changed the order from the books, and they've been setting up for the storyline for a while now, whereas there's been no mention of ||Eloise's correspondence|| at all, and frankly, I don't think ||writing letters would TV Eloise's thing?|| But honestly, who knows at this point π We're at least 2 years away from the next season, so this is all speculation
i havent started the 2nd half yet of S4 but i couldnt escape the spoilers anyway, i didnt mind it, makes me more excited to watch it once i do !! π From what i've seen in many discussions it seems to be ||leaning towards Eloise,|| but I also think it could be ||Francesca mainly cause i feel it to be smoother with the current storyline, like how they could definitely do a good and smooth lead in to Eloise from Francesca's story|| if you get what I mean, either way i'm pretty excited || also side note: I love Posy sm!!!|| π₯Ή
Exactly! But also, there's usually a small time skip between seasons so any setup for ||Eloise's season|| could happen then. I also wonder if they could do ||both of them together, like they did in S3|| but that wouldn't feel right to me... And yes! ||Posy is so so iconic and I hope they keep her in the show, kinda like how they kept the Mondrich family in the show! I would love to see more of her!||
okay, i am caught up with this week's episode of the rookie (8x10) so reaction time β¨οΈ
||GAHHH ZOMBIES!!! pretty much sums it up π but seriously, I had mixed feelings on this episode. I didn't love that the kid featured again, and I found myself rolling my eyes a bit. Grey asking Bailey to snoop around is definitely going to bite her in the back, and I think it will accelerate her return back to LA. Much as I think Bailey is a little too perfect, I would feel a little sad for her if she lost her job.... And Glasser's lawyer is shady af, I wonder how long it'll be before we find out he's been in on it the whole time π That would be very Glasser-style, I think. The zombies were a lot this episode, AND THE DOLLS?!?? I wonder if they'll come back again. Is this The Rookie moving towards thriller/horror? Because I don't think I could handle that emotionally.||
||I also don't think I can handle this much action honestly. It feels like every episode this season has been a Thing, whether that's FBI involvement, or a crossover, or something. And while I think it's great that they've got all these super cool sequences and plotlines written in, I kinda miss a slower patrol episode. Not Q-word, just... slower.||
||I also can't finish reacting without commenting on Lucy's thing, because her acting was genuinely * chef's kiss *. And I can't wait to see what the next episode brings (need to watch the promo)||
I agree on the ||zombies. It was a bit much for me - honestly this felt like it would have been a Halloween episode. A little creepier, darker, and a bit outlandish. I don't mind the kid, so far he amuses me haha - but if something happens to him or he becomes a crutch then that'll be annoying.
Embarrassingly, my first thought for Lucy was wondering why she was freaking out because she's been through worse and then I realized that probably only makes it worse π Poor girl. I hope Tim was softer in the in-betweens because the girl needs some gentle hugs.||
I agree that Melissa O'Neill is a good actress! When The Rookie initially came out she was actually one of the reasons I wanted to watch (aside from Nathan Fillion) because I'd seen her in a sci-fi show and really enjoyed her.
Yes! ||The zombies would have made for a much better Halloween episode, although I don't think they'll still be airing then, so I get it rip||
||No, I had that thought too! But I get it though, it's the first time she's had to face the fact that she's not just a victim. And definitely, I love how Tim was giving her space but still offering support if she needed it!||
Oh I see! I didn't know who she was before I started watching last year, but I've heard that the sci-fi show is okay too (I think it's called Dark Matter?) so I was considering watching it too, but I have too many shows to watch so maybe later π
Yeah Dark Matter! (Not to be confused with an entirely different show also called Dark Matter) It's super fun by did get cancelled mid story so that was disappointing
There are 2 shows called Dark Matter?? Totally not confusing at all π€£ And shame it got cancelled, but if it didn't, we might not have Melissa O'Neil on The Rookie π€·π»ββοΈ
I recently treated myself to a month of Disney Plus and may have finished S1 of High Potential in a suspiciously short amount of time π (I am kidding, it took a week-ish)
General thoughts are that I enjoy it, and will probably continue to follow S2 as it airs, although my subscription may run out before it finishes airing... I like they haven't made Morgan the kind of person who only sees their intelligence as a gift, and she's reasonably emotionally intelligent too. The cases are fun, and I like joining in to see if I can spot the clues when Morgan does (I cannot). I also like Karadec and Morgan's dynamics, and the rest of the team are starting to grow on me. I don't care for the Roman plot though, it just didn't compel me as much for some reason, but maybe we'll see more of it in S2
OMG YEEEEES FINALLY SOMEONE WHO WATCHED HIGHT POTENTIAL!!!!
tbh i watched it because i remember someone on here recommending it, i think it was you?
Probably!
As usual, I'm caught up with this week's episode of The Rookie (8x11) so it's reaction time β¨
||I really really liked Tim and Lucy's dynamics this episode! I love that Tim was trying to be supportive and also protect her at the same time, and even though it didn't end up being a good thing for Lucy, they still had a conversation about it and gah, I want that kind of relationship for me!! AND THAT SCENE WITH MARTIN'S SISTER AT THE END! OMG it was so so good, I could feel myself tearing up over it... I also feel like a lot of Lucy's traumas just... conclude? Like the barrel stuff just ended and kinda didn't turn up again after 2 episodes, until season 8, so I feel like things will be "back to normal" for her next episode||
||I enjoyed seeing Skip Tracer Randy again, even though this episode isn't as chaotic as some of the others. I laughed a bit at the Foreign Accent Syndrome, but I didn't really care for the murder plot. And speaking of murders, I am sick and tired of Glasser getting the upper hand, and I desperately want to see him put away for good. He literally has Wesley and Nyla in the throes of depression, and I do not love that for them. I also didn't care for the Bailey plotline or the FBI taskforce thing, but it seems to be a big thing this season π ||
Still, I had fun watching this episode, even if I watched it a bit late. Had to stay off social media to avoid being spoiled lol
I also have the new episode of High Potential to watch, but I'll do that tomorrow. I think I only have enough in me to react to one episode today, not that I need to react, but no one I know in real life will watch these shows with me, so on here it is.
||I love skip tracer randy. xD||
||He's great, he really brings a lot more lightness into the show, and keeps it from getting too serious, which I really enjoy, I love how crazy it gets||
I felt this week's episode of High Potential (2x15) was really sad. Well, not depressing sad, but still sad. ||I both hate and love that the fiancΓ©e had to kill the guy to stop him from destroying his legacy, and his hesitation in supporting that girl's dream at the start... knowing what it did to him. Arghh feels!|| Also is it bad that I kinda don't care for the plot of what happened to Roman Sinquerra? I know it's meant to be a long-term thing, and I swear it will still be an issue when/if the show makes it to later seasons... Still, ||Soto was super cool in this episode with the whole NY stuff, although Captain Nick seems to be a little too eager to get on this case...? Sus...||
Me when one character moves to throw something and another grabs their hand and then there's intense eye contact
Now im crying what is thisssss
New fav episode, they are so kind to eachother
I love found family so much
And this is set where they have been through hardship and are growing back together
All of the boys in the group have cried at least once in this episode and i love it
you have me interested for sure!
def going onto my watchlist to check out.
Anyone watching "Siren's Kiss" or "In Your Radiant Season"?
One is a K-Thriller and the other a Rom
GUYS IT'S NOT ||ELOISE|| FOR BRIDGERTON S5!!??!
i can't believe i actually called it xd
Saw it as well on insta π₯Ή felt like the more reasonable choice to me ||as well considering the progression in story, they could do a lead in to Eloise|| from here! I cant wait for her story
absolutely! they can do so much more to build up ||Eloise's story||! it would have felt so weird going from Benedict's to ||Eloise's when her story is literally a penpals to lovers story, which obviously needs time to develop||
I haven't heard of those 2 before! are they any good? I'm in a kdrama slump atm so haven't really been watching many lately
If you want a feel good romance drama so far "In Your Radiant Season" is doing great. It's last 3 episodes are this Friday and Saturday (depending on your timezone)
Siren's kiss is good so far but that won't be ending just yet
Ooh okay, I'll probably go for In Your Radiant Season over Siren's Kiss since I'm feeling more lighthearted things atm (plus it's on one of my streaming sites which is always a bonus xd)
Hope you'll enjoy it. I'm rewatching it before tomorrows double episode π
already?? π it's still airing no?
Yup still is. Double episode Friday and finale Saturday
I'm glad you enjoy it so much you rewatch it before it's finished xd
do you watch a lot of dramas usually?
It's that good. I watch a lot of K-Dramas and C-dramas. I tend to repeat the ones I've liked the most like "Marry My husband" , Happiness and "Just Between Lovers".
ahh I feel that! I haven't heard of Happiness or Just Between Lovers but Marry My Husband is one of my favourites too! I was initially a bit sceptical of the casting, but honestly, it works surprisingly well
I read the manhwa something like 10 times before I watched the drama too, so I had an idea of what I wanted the drama to do
but honestly, I'm glad it wasn't the same! also, ||I loved that they used BTS to let the main leads make the connection that they both travelled from the future||
it was so so iconic!
I read the manhwa too! A lot had to removed in the live action sadly. I would've loved if they covered what was missing.
As for Happiness. It's a thriller. It's based off of a webtoon. Same name but it also had to be changed a bit for the live action
I read somewhere that they based it more on the novel? but heck, I didn't even know it was a novel first hahaha
^ that's for marry my husband btw
As for "Just between lovers" its a bit of a tear jerker. The theme is loosely based off of the Sampoong Department Store tragedy that happens in S. Korea.
Happiness, I had a hard time finding because there's so many dramas and movies with the same name π It's the 2021 one?
Yes that one
Nice! I'll put them all on my list of shows to watch π
I seem to be collecting shows on that list like I'm collecting books on my TBR lol
LOL I get that. I'm constantly on Viki watching all these shows pop up. If I remember the manhwa then I watch it.
I keep thinking I should get a Viki subscription but honestly, I don't watch enough dramas nowadays to justify it π
But talking of manhwa turning into dramas, The Remarried Empress is coming out "at some point" and I am so so excited!
I hope it turns out really well, but the main leads look good, the supporting cast look good, so I have high hopes for it :)
I watch the free ones. Happiness and Just between lovers is free there.
YES REMARRIED EMPRESS!!! I'm so excited for that one. Heinrey is just simply amazing π€
they have free shows??! how did I not know about this? I always thought you had to pay for a subscription to watch on Viki!!
YES OMG Heinrey has my heart and soul
(I need to catch up with the manhwa honestly π)
but I think the thing that I love most about The Remarried Empress is the collective hate for Rashta
It's all labeled some say watch free and that includes every episode. Others only have 2 free episodes and that will say watch with Viki pass
it's like Soo Min in Marry My Husband, no matter who you are, you will hate her
Lol definitely!
OOH thanks for telling me about that! I'll need to have a browse on there properly so that I don't miss shows that I could have watched without a subscription
Almost all free ones are great...(Except for Cinderella's Sister) That one just leaves you angry and confused lol.
A Chinese romance I recommend is called Unforgettable Love. It's super cute
Ooh okay, I'll check that one out! I don't usually go for cdramas but it might be good for me to have some variety xd
I started C-dramas last year and loved them ever since. I don't lean towards historical ones because I lose focus π
oooh fair enough! I almost always go for the fantasy/xianxia/wuxia ones because the modern ones cringe me out just a bit too much, and I lose interest after 10 episodes usually
I think I watched a few in like 2020 when I was going through my Chinese webnovel phase (would not recommend, the writing and translation is awful)
So ones like The King's Avatar, and then I watched Love O2O (because Yang Yang was cute π) and then I think I stopped after that
π so much respect for Yang Yang ππ»ππ»
I'll have to check MDL but I can't lie, I'm not very good at updating it
Honestly, I was so tempted to watch Who Rules the World when it came out, but I straight up just didn't have time π
And now I'll probably never watch it because I don't have the attention span rip
Lol I've been having that on hold and never get to it
Wait I lied, I just checked MDL and apparently I've completed it??
I have no memory of this rip
π€£
well if you ever do get back to it, just know I rated it 8.5/10, which honestly doesn't mean much to me beyond it was good enough that I finished it xd

I seem to be taking longer and longer to watch the new episode of The Rookie every week π BUT I'm getting good at avoiding spoilers on social media (I only saw ONE (1) video this week!)
I really enjoyed this week's episode. I know I've complained about the whole ||FBI LAPD task force thing|| but I feel like this episode made it worthwhile xd I also liked seeing ||Elijah and Monica again, even if all Elijah did was just piss me off π€£ and I liked that Monica and Wesley resolved their differences. Honestly, it made her seem so much more human, and maybe now, we'll get to see her be a bigger part of the show? Idk, I really like her character, so maybe I'm partial π||
In other notes, I straight up did not clock that ||Miles wasn't in the last episode until he reappeared as Sneakers (gah the code names were so so funny) and Nyla somehow was the LAPD detective to take point with Garza in the interrogation even though she's on patrol? Surely Grey should have done it? And talking about Grey, I really cannot take more of this Wuna angst. This is the 4th week already... Please, let them be happyπ||
BUT our other couples were doing good! ||I like Tim and Lucy riding together, even if it's an off-the-books op, I should have mentioned it last episode too, their dynamic is so good β¨ and I was right her trauma's over now xd Still, I like how these episodes seem to wrap up with her and Tim on the couch. It's so domestic π₯Ή||
Gah I enjoyed this episode so much, I'm actually very glad I waited to watch it this week. I was so so tired yesterday and Tuesday that I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it properly. I also seem to be yapping more and more each week π At some point, I'm going to be writing essays xd Honestly, I should start a TV show journal or something. I already write what episodes I watch in my journal, what's stopping me from starting one to yap about shows
Definitely a fun episode! It felt like a breath of fresh air since there's been some heavy stuff this season.
Yes! It was much more lighthearted! I love the flow and the storytelling, and how they're kinda recounting and showing at the same time, it was definitely needed after the last few eps
Just finished the new High Potential episode (2x16) and maybe the whole Roman Sinquerra conspiracy is growing on me, especially now that ||we've been introduced to Willa Quinn, who somehow has a connection to Captain Nick's father?|| I still enjoy the regular cases more though, and I swear ||Morgan has a thing for Karadec? Idk if it's just me reading too much into it, but the dynamics felt off when Morgan interacted with Karadec in front of Lucia at the hospital...||
I can't believe S2 is almost over now π but still, it's exciting that it's been renewed for a third season, so I guess we have that to look forward to!
Anyone like Korean variety shows? I just finished Zombieverse, now Iβm watching Agents of Mystery
Oooh how do you like them? I caught a few episodes of Running Man years and years ago, maybe like 2016/17?
And I used to watch RUN! BTS but that was more for BTS than because I enjoyed variety shows
And I suppose Single's Inferno counts? I've only seen the first season though, kinda don't really have the patience for it
I love them! I watched Run for the Money that was amazing. And a few others I canβt remember right now. I havenβt watched any of the dating shows tho
Honestly, Single's Inferno is the only dating one I've seen, I think there was one a while ago where they paired people based on what they would look like if they lost x amount of weight π which kinda put off all Korean dating shows for me
The amount of lookism in them is just ick
I've seen a few US/UK ones like Married at First Sight, Love is Blind but I don't really enjoy them
I wished True Beauty (Romance fiction show) and the girl was βuglyβ because she had acne and wore glasses like what. And I donβt know if you ever watched the anime Lookism before. They really treat βuglyβ people bad in those shows
Omg I need to catch up on this!
I haven't properly watched True Beauty but I've seen clips and I read the manhwa for both True Beauty and Lookism years ago and yeah, I get what you mean, their definitions of ugliness are so... limiting? I don't think that's the correct word, but they make you feel even the smallest thing makes you ugly
Do you watch any other dramas?
Do it! I started it a few weeks ago and gah I actually enjoy it so much more than I thought I would, and then we can yap about it xd
Mostly Kdramas. I try to watch American reality tv but they annoy me. Im open to any recommendations
Nice! Do you have any fave kdramas? I haven't really been watching any lately, but my dad watches a lot, and I usually sit near enough to catch a few minutes every so often, and the recent ones look good, so I might watch them after I'm done with my current shows
I don't really watch much reality tv in general, I feel like people act for the cameras sometimes, which annoys me a little, so most of the shows I watch are fictional
besides the occasional true crime documentary of course, but I haven't seen many lately either
I have two favorites Ready Set Love and Bon Apetite Your Majesty
Yeah people do too much for me. I canβt even watch Pop the Balloon on YouTube no more because people do too much to go viral itβs highly annoying
Oh I love Bon Appetit Your Majesty! I loved the cooking showdowns!
If you're looking for a similar kind of show, Mr Queen is really good! I laughed so much watching it xd
I've never seen Pop the Balloon but I get it, people do the most outrageous things nowadays for those few seconds of fame and it's just so frustrating to watch sometimes
Iβll check it out! Is it on Netflix or a different platform?
I think I watched it on Netflix, but obviously it'll depend on the licensing in your area. Otherwise, it might be on Viki?
I hope you enjoy it if you end up watching it!
@rare needle I hope it's okay I ping you, I just finished the first season of Dark Matter and I enjoyed it so much! It's like an extended version of Among Us with plot?? It was so interesting watching them figure out their moral codes and skillsets, and I loved all the plot twists in it. I don't normally watch sci-fi shows but this was really fun!
I'm so glad you liked it! That show definitely has a special place in my heart
Not entirely sure how I feel about this week's episode of High Potential (2x17). I think it's the penultimate episode for this season? Somehow, it feels like it should be in the middle of the season.
I enjoyed the main case, the action was good, and figuring out what and how the crime was going to be committed was actually really interesting. However, I don't love ||this random thing between Nick and Morgan, I think it's both of them projecting, and I don't like that. Also, the power dynamics are off. I did like finding out more about Nick's backstory though, and now that they've kissed, I feel like hindsight is telling me that this season was building up to a thing between them, but I still don't like it. Also also, Morgan's cry in the bathroom?!? I don't know if it's because of Lucia, or because she just went through a traumatic event? Still, π₯Ί ||
And of course ||Eric Hayworth is dead. There was no chance of him staying alive after being transferred to FBI custody, especially if Willa Quinn was pulling the strings... I guess drawing a dead end is a good way to end the season, although I suspect there's going to be some form of cliffhanger next episode -_- Also, Nick Wagner Sr being involved? I should have drawn the connections last episode, but Captain Nick being sus and getting involved in the case is now majorly sus. Like, he's not on great terms with his dad, but even still, he's shown that he will dance to his father's tune, so maybe...? π OOOH and what if his thing with Morgan is also calculated? π||
I guess we'll find out more next episode...
Yes, I still need to watch The Rookie this week, but my super legal site was down, so I'll watch it tomorrow. I also wonder if these two shows will ever cross-over, especially since they're on the same network and set in the same city π
No spoilers, but I was pretty happy with this week's episode of The Rookie haha
Ooooh I shall watch it Tonight! I'll share my thoughts as always π€£
As usual, it took me ages to watch The Rookie's new episode (8x13) but oh my goodness I enjoyed it so much this week! It was much more chill, and I loved the comedy in this episode! My favourite quote has to be Nolan's "Iβm going to find out how many naps is too many naps" and I like seeing ||Bailey back in her original position, but that poor rookie π He really got assigned to THE Trouble Magnet xD I knew that as soon as Nolan joined them in the field, it was Game Over for the poor guy, he was gonna be roped in to some event or other, and I was spot on π I spent most of their scenes feeling so bad for him!||
||And even though I knew Wesley was never going to win the DA race after last episode, I was kinda secretly hoping he would make a comeback and pull through, but alas. I liked how sweet their group was in supporting him though π₯Ή And a small side note: even though I'm a massive Chenford shipper, it felt weird watching them interact together in that group? I don't know, maybe it was just weird to me...||
||I LOVED seeing Seth again! And I loved how they finally resolved all his lies from the previous season in this episode. It was nice to see him take responsibility for his actions, apologising, and realising that being a police officer at Mid-Wilshire wasn't an option for him anymore. I didn't feel too bad for him though, this was a direct consequence of his actions. Still, I hope we see him again, his episodes have become really fun to watch.||
My only gripe is ||Nyla, I thought she was back on patrol? But apparently, she's on the detective desks again? Well, maybe I have a second gripe because of my first gripe: what is Miles doing? Like, he seems to just be floating around TO-less wearing short sleeves, which is... confusing..? I was kinda hoping to see more Nyla/Miles interacting but they seem to each be doing their own thing.||
Still, this episode was great, and I'll be looking forward to the next one! I can't believe there's only 5 more episodes left π
OH I FORGOT TO TALK ABOUT ||WUNA! I'm glad they're at least on the right track, like I was so so done with the angst and the anger and honestly, I'm glad Luna stuck her foot down with that doctor. Like he knew, for sure, what he was doing, so good on Luna! But shame Wade had to get taken to the hospital (by Smitty) for our Wuna angst to resolve.||
I kinda like that Wesley || didn't win the race. Makes it feel a little more realistic than if he had just swooped in and won. Also I am dying for a Seth bad-guy arc. I want him to become some kind of ungovernable criminal lol - I think it would a super interesting storyline that makes sense for the anger, confusion, and resentment he has had simmering for so long.
Good point about Nyla & Miles. I sort of forgot about their situations. Hopefully we see Miles get the mentoring he needs soon!||
I completely agree. It would have been very unrealistic, and I'm excited to see what lies in store for him now! ||I wasn't expecting him to go back to being a defence lawyer, especially after everything that went down with Elijah Stone,|| but I'm Excited to see what happens! They hopefully have something interesting planned, and maybe ||he might go pursue a new career entirely π||
||YES on the Seth bad-guy act! Something I'm also confused by why he's so fixated on Mid-Widshire? Like this is his third attempt at trying to become a cop at this station. I bet there's something else going on... And talking of Seth, I want to see Tamara again π₯Ί She was mentioned in this episode and I was like Tamara!!! π₯Ίπ₯Ί I'm hoping she comes back this season but I follow Dylan Conrique on social media and she's not shared anything related to The Rookie, so I think maybe not... π ||
||I know right! Like we had One (1) episode of Nyla in uniform, and then she was back to plain clothes again! And with Miles being on probation in that extended period, I thought he would be wearing long sleeves, enduring LA weather, but no? He's in short sleeves, hanging around Celina, who isn't a TO, it's almost like he's an honorary P2? which is super confusing because he clearly wasn't ready to pass his probation year. I wonder how they'll resolve that, and if they'll explain away the whole short sleeves thing||
Yeah, Seth's || fixation on the one specific police station is a little baffling. I think it shows some kind of vindictive streak. Like he wants to show up everyone or make them work with him whether they like it or not. Especially when he went about it the second time. 99% of people would never want to work at the place they were disgraced in.||
Exactly! ||That second time was especially bad... Like everyone shunned him and he was like sup, this is me. I will say, the vindictive streak would make him a great villain though, so I'm looking forward to him being our next major villain after Glasser :)||
OMG, pursuit of jade was so beautiful!! And the visuals!!!!
WHAT
I love the hidden-identity trope, and he falls first!

Started the second season of Dark Matter and wth ||ONE DIES??!|| I should not look up spoilers but gah, I'm so tempted
Eek, I only just finished this week's episode of The Rookie (8x14). I thought it was surprisingly good.
I can't lie, ||the kid is kinda growing on me... I was a bit like urgh again?! when I saw him in the promo, but the high school plot was actually kinda fun to watch, and it's nice to see different people in the show. I love that the high school drama stumped all the detectives except Lucy and Dash haha. Lucy clearly spends too much time on the internet lol||
I really really loved the cold open (I always forget what it's called), like ||Tim getting all excited about his Super Shop (name in progress) was honestly so so cute π₯Ή and those photos!! Ahhhhhhh!!! BUT him working in the shop was honestly so stressful to watch, it felt like there were a million and one things going on all at once and OMG THAT FACE SLAM ON THE WINDOW WHEN HE WAS ON THE CALL?!??? I cackled so hard at that π||
Celina ||working with the missing persons detectives was not on my bingo card but it makes sense to me... I didn't pick up any complicated feelings from Lucy's end though, I wonder if that's still something she would continue to pursue once the dude (I forgot his name) gets off the panel, but honestly, Lucy SLAYYYED that sergeant pat and pep talk with Celina when she came running back after the missing person wasn't missing after all, so maybe she might continue being a sergeant π Also, I thought Celina's apartment building looked super swanky, which is not how I remember Lucy's apartment building, or maybe it's just the optics of it, like a dude had just died in it when we are first introduced to it. Still, maybe I need to rewatch that episode (in S1?) and compare notes xd||
Wesley ||quitting the DA's office was 100% on my bingo card though, and I love that he was convinced by Del Monte to give it one more try, only for them both to quit at the same time hahaha, but Vivian being understaffed and stressed is so deserved so I don't feel bad for her at all||
Again, ||where the hell is Penn?? Nolan and Bradford kinda allude to him doing some 'training' and apparently he's riding with Bradford again after? Also, Nyla is officially back in plainclothes? Okay...? I wonder how long her demotion or suspension was supposed to be, because Glasser is still out there?||
There's only 4 episodes left of this season π I wonder how they're going to resolve all of this... I really hope they don't leave us on a cliffhanger, I really dislike when that happens, it'll be an absolute pain waiting for it, and I really think that rewatching The Rookie for the 3rd time in the last 4 months might be a bit obsessive π
I managed to watch more on a flight and omggggg I was locked in
I loved the cold open and was kind of hoping the whole episode would be mostly centered on || Tim getting the hang of being an on-the-go commander in his fancy car haha
Celina going this route definitely makes sense and I'll be curious if she sticks with it.||
Not looking forward to the season being over π
Rightt??? I'm glad you're enjoying it
Honestly same, I feel like we didn't fully resolve ||how Tim can be that watch commander that he wants to be, I feel like it was just a teehee funny moment this episode, and I wonder if it'll come up again next episode or if he'll just go back to his office (which I really hope he doesn't)||
I really don't want it to be over, watching the new episode and writing up my reaction really makes my week (which sounds a bit sad when I say it like that but hey, a girl can have hobbies)
Next episode is a ||documentary|| episode?! YES PLEASE!!
OMGOMGOMG The Rookie got renewed for Season 9!!!!
Episode 24 of veil of shadows ||absolutely destroyed me!!! I spend half the episode crying! What is this!! ||

I can't wait for the new season of Reacher!
I seem to take even longer every week to watch the new episode of The Rookie (8x15). I'm not entirely sure how to feel about this episode. I thought I would enjoy it but it was honestly so... weird isn't quite the right word... off?
It was great seeing ||Abigail again, even if I've always found her a bit intense and weird, in an unfunny kind of way. Still, the interactions between her and the documentarian were amusing.||
I also love getting ||more Smitty lore! I swear, this guy has lived the funniest life. Idek what it is. First he's Q, now he starred in a freaking DTV movie. Soon, we're going to find out he's sent something to the moon, or discovered some new strain of fungus, or secretly has a PhD in cat behaviour π I'm just speculating now xd||
What I don't love about this episode is ||the Dropout feature (again), but I didn't like it the first time round, and the humour still felt odd to me in The Rookie. I also didn't love how easily it all wrapped up though, I feel like it could have lasted longer, but then I like watching documentaries on cults π||
I'm actually still confused by what's happening with ||Nyla and Penn, but I guess she got her detective desk back? And Penn is still in training? I'm also a little confused why Grey was in the documentary when he didn't work the case, and the context he provided could all have been given by another senior officer (like Smitty, or even Bradford). Oh well, logic and continuity doesn't pull rank in TV universes π ||
This was just an okay episode for me. Maybe I built it up in my head a little, and it didn't meet my expectations. Still, I'm looking forward to the next one! Also, only 3 episodes left π
Agreed, I don't love the documentary-style episodes of The Rookie in general. But this one ||felt really messy and hard to follow. I also thought the ending was super anti-climactic and I was confused when they ended it. Featuring Dropout again definitely felt a little silly to me, but then again the Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki cameo also felt overly silly to me too haha||
Yes exactly! I was entertained by ||Abigail and the documentarian (idk his name)'s interactions, but I didn't love how heavily they featured in this episode. And especially with the collabs/cameos, it sometimes felt like I barely saw the main cast in this episode... I think next episode is a Glasser one, so hopefully we'll get some movement on that plotline||
Another Reacher fan! I need to do some catching up haha
rewatching Elementary, the superior ACD Sherlock Holmes modernization
The Pitt is a great new medical show. Very graphic.
Trying to rewatch The Vampire Diaries lately, I'm halfway through season 1 and forgot how much this show makes me cringe out
What do you guys think about Pluribus? ππ«Άπ»
currently watching king of queens but gonna be starting the clone wars soon
Finally caught up with this week's episode of The Rookie (8x16). Urgh it's closer to next episode's release than this episode's release now xd I may also have spoiled some parts of it no thanks to my social media addiction
Honestly, any episode that starts with ||domestic Chenford|| is a great start! And there was so much going on in this ep but I wouldn't trade it for anything else!
Anyways, I LOVED seeing Nyla and Angela's ||reaction to Tim's grandmother's ring, it was so so funny π€£ I truly cackled my way through those scenes! I also love the way he ended up resolving it though, and him inviting his mum to come with him ring shopping! ALSO PROPOSAL NEXT EPISODE???!||
Argh my heart
I don't love ||Liam Glasser, but I do like that we have some movement on his case. I love how his wife, sorry ex-wife, got herself out of that marriage even though he wasn't convicted, and that scene with her and Nyla! Gah, I liked that scene so much!||
I also really liked seeing ||Monica again. I have no idea what she's going to do next, but I also wonder if it'll tie in with Glasser's storyline, which could be interesting. I also weirdly enjoyed seeing the 6 7 meme that Bridget threw in haha, it's great fun making kids cringe over seeing adults try to be in with them xd||
And as usual, I complain about the continuity... ||So Miles is now riding with Nolan? It was kinda insinuated last ep that he would be riding with Tim in his swanky new Super Shop, but no sign of that π And Nyla somehow was allowed on Glasser's case even though the LAPD is being sued because of her? Like I get why Tim did it, but still smacks of favouritism π||
Still, I'm looking forward to next week's episode, can't wait to see what's next!
I'm only watching right now The boys on prime and my anxiety is killing me, one episode each week π
Trying to finish The Good Place. Adored the original run but had a ton of life stuff go down so I never got to finish it
Somehow, I found the energy to watch this week's episode of The Rookie (8x17) earlier than last week, so I'll take my wins. Like the last episode, I didn't stay off social media before watching it, and may have spoiled parts of it for myself, but it's okay, I thought it might end that way...
The main event has to be Tim ||finding an engagement ring! Him confiding in Angela, only for her to tell Nyla, Aaron and Celina omg π€£ AND THEN CELINA BEING A BLABBERMOUTH!! OMGG!! Truly, I was shaking my head at them haha, but I'm glad Tim found a ring, and it was nice having it tie into Aaron's carjacking case too. That wrapped up really nicely!||
I really enjoyed seeing ||Aaron again in this episode! I've missed having him as a main character, he was really fun to watch!||
I'm a little sad but not entirely surprised that ||Monica got killed this episode. Tbh, I spoiled this bit for myself on socials because I follow Bridget and she shared an interview (which I skimmed xd) I feel like Monica has always been super clever and cunning, but this last season, she's been backed into a corner and forced to play desperate moves, so she was just digging herself deeper into the hole until she couldn't get out anymore. I enjoyed her farewell with Wesley though||
As for ||Glasser losing the custody battle, yay for Miranda! I'm also super glad that Harper and Nolan managed to convince her to come back, which was a relief! Straight up, I was reading my last review, and completely glossed over the fact that Nolan was shot haha. It's a non-event at this point xd BUT those violent flashes Glasser is having? I wonder how long it will be before he abandons all control and goes on a killing spree. Maybe we'll get a resolution next episode π||
Season finale next week and I am SAD! I'll try and catch it on time haha, so I don't get accidentally spoiled on socials again. Writing up my reactions has been kinda fun, so I may find another show to do that with after... Idk what show I would even watch though, and reacting to shows that I'm binging kinda isn't the same
finished the good place. cried at the end. not sure what's next.
Anyone have any suggestions for mystery tv shows?
watched the recent episode of the boys a while ago. (spoilers incoming)
just wanted to say || Valorie Curry did a phenomenal job in that one scene. She really expressed Firecracker's inner turmoil well and how you can see even she herself knows she is going way too far. yet even though she knows it goes against her beliefs and basically throwing under the bus someone who was dear to her, she still went along with it. yet despite all the ass kissing, all her efforts were in vain and homelander still killed her. (although if she probably just left as homelander told her to and didn't beg to stay, she probably could have left unscathed.) just really wanted to get this out of my system because I was really impressed by her in that recent episode. She is a horrible character no doubt but the actress and the writing of that scene was really good. also amazed she's Kara from detroit become human. ||
Been sick and didn't get to respond! My biggest thing from that episode is ||Monica being desperate has been interesting and if death was the only way out... I really wish she could have been given a more ceremonious death? Like it was a little too simple for someone they've built up for literal years into this Big Bad Scary person. I would've liked it to maybe be on her own terms or something more fitting of what they'd built her up to be. She's not really a blaze of glory type, but she was a fight until the last second type. Instead she sorta gave up a little at the end.||
Aww I hope you feel better now π« I can where you're coming from, and I kinda agree that ||she gave up towards the end... I suspect the writers want us to think Monica's farewell with Wesley left her super emotional and unable to think up more moves, but she's shown before that she's a very calculating person, even in super difficult circumstances, so you're right that she should have fought until the last second. I guess they're also done with the Monica plotline, even though she was a great villain
and what with the season finale, I think they're ready to start with a new Big Bad Scary guy||
AND SPEAKING OF THE SEASON FINALE!! ||WHAT IN THE CLIFFHANGER IS THAT ENDING??! YOU'RE TELLING ME I HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED??!?! AHHHHH||
I am NOT happy with the season finale ending hahaha - I can't believe they've done this to us. One of the meanest season finales I've seen in a long time lol
LITERALLY! I was actually like oh this is a decent season finale, right until that last minute ππ and now I'm raging haha, all that buildup just to leave us hanging omg πππ
New episode of perfect crown
it's on my list, is it good?
