#Automatically Tilting Solar Panels

I'm surprised no one has suggested this before, but solar panels should automatically re-orient themselves throughout the day to point towards the sun. They certainly look like they're designed for it, but it seems a bit odd that you can only get them facing in a specific direction by placing them that way, and even odder that it has no effect whatsoever on their energy generation.

We discussed doing that, that feature isnt within the scope of Ad Astra. Technology in Ad Astra is a means, not an end. Solar panels will auto adjust themselves in Techarium

Technology in Ad Astra is a means, not an end.
what does that mean

Basically tech isn’t our entire focus in ad Astra

#

We felt like it’d be a better fit in techarium since that’s entirely tech focused

Also I said lmao because we have been discussing this among ourselves for a bit lol

Technology is used as a means of exploration to other planets, its not the end goal for players to obtain

ok, interesting
I still think something like having solar panels tilted west start generating earlier and solar panels tilted east start generating later would be nice

it would be pretty useful for making a space base (which counts as a means of exploration, right?) because you can have two banks of solar panels facing in opposite directions to generate energy for longer overall

I agree that it’s a nice idea, we all do in fairness, but we don’t want to take away that specialty from techarium

aight
that's fair, I guess
are techarium and ad astra going to have some amount of built-in compat for each other?

#

or are they just both going to use FE

they both will use the same energy system and we do plan on having built in integration with ad astra
