I believe this bug has been in the game since release, but it didn't really matter before the introduction of Cursed Crowns (non-removable).
Crowned cards cannot be equipped with charms. As the video clip shows, this can be worked around by fist removing the Crown then equipping the charm and finally re-equipping the Crown. Ever since the introduction of Cursed Crowns (they are non-removable) this workaround is not useable anymore.
Please fix, it's a very punishing bug.

I assumed it was something to do with noomlin breaking in the crowned phase, but it works fine if you do noomlin first

It is probably because of how the code of the game works. You already don't spend a turn when playing a crowned card, so it makes sence that you don't want to make it Noomlin
